    I like beans.

And thus concludes my 4 day trip to Hokkaido! What an incredible and beautifully natural area of Japan and I’m glad I ended it with an unexpected hike up the highest peak in Hokkaido, which I only discovered afterwards is actually an active volcano... I get the feeling that I'm proooobably gonna head back to Hokkaido again in the winter.
Let me know what you thought of it and where else you're interested in seeing here in Japan!

Let me be honest (this ends well): every time I see a new C.Hannah video, I'm like "more random stuff about Japan".. and then (somehow) I click, and boy do I get hooked till the end every single time. Conclusion: you make quality video, quality content. Really, you're good.

I climbed this mountain, but the funniest story goes along with it. In the middle of the Japanese summer I went to Japan with my school for two weeks to do touring and home stay. After looking at some of the biggest cities in japan we went to do homestay in a town that had a population smaller than my high school. Luckily my friend and I got to stay together. Our host family consisted of the kindest most caring mum who spoke reasonable English, and a sweet but very VERY shy 10 year old girl who spoke no English. The father lived on the site of a house he was building and the older brother boarded at his school. Over the weekend we visited the father and on the Sunday it was suggested that we go for a drive to see the beautiful Japanese nature. So after driving for an hour or two, we stopped at the bottom of this mountain. (1:20) My friend and I thought we were just getting out to have a look so we left all our stuff in the car. But then tickets were bought to go in the ski lift car. So we thought we were just going to have a look from further up, then come down. We started walking outside around that area (1:25) and decided that we walk walk to a magnificent view point 800 metres away (3:16). We did that and I wasn’t to hard but it was really hot already. Then the mum said she was going to walk back because she couldn’t do anymore. We should have taken the hint at that but no. So it was my friend, the father, the daughter and I. I speak very basic Japanese but couldn’t understand the father because he spoke a different dialect that I was unfamiliar with. We just kept climbing. We climbed past snow, while the sun was blistering over head. We had no water, no sunscreen, no hat. I was wearing converse and jeans. I had to keep asking for breaks in Japanese but the father kept trying to push on. It was literally vertical. A Japanese lady who was in full hiking gear with the poles and everything sass my friend and I struggling. She gave us scolding hot tea which we skulled and a few chocolates to give us energy. We climbed all the way to the tops. I felt like death and cried a quarter of the way up. I reached the top took a photo a went straight back down. The view from the top was amazing and it’s a shame you missed it. It was very humbling. My friend butt slid the way down and I recklessly almost sprinted. I had never wanted anything more to get off that mountain. The next day I went to the primary school and the little kids laughed at me because they had never seen a person so red. I will never forget that experience and if I get skin cancer later in life I know what to blame it on.

..Great video and a great achievement to climb the mostly steep walls of an active volcano..
I visited Java twice and Bali twice.. Both times during a trip among these islands we visited active volcanoes, or passed them with the car..
At our first visit, together with my parents, we visited the active Tenger Plateau, with the active volcanoes 🌋 Gunung (= Mountain) Bromo, with a hight of 1 100 metres and Semeru, the highest volcano of Java, with a hight of 3 600 metres..
At the second visit, with my wife in 2007, we visited the active Gunung Merapi, with a hight of 2 850 metres and its destructive eruption site of 2006.. It was very strange to felt the life and heat coming out of the bottom of the still active magma chamber of Gunung Merapi..!! Other volcanoes we visited was Dieng Plateau, where we passed also the active volcanoes Gunung Sundoro, with a hight of 3 300 metres and Gunung Sumbing with a hight of 2 800 metres..
In Bali we visited Lake Batur with the equal named volcano Gunung Batur, with a hight of 1 200 metres.. We also went here to its eruption site.. Unreal to see lava bombs as big as a car, which was thrown out at an earlier eruption..!!
We also visited the temple comlex of Pura Ulan Besaki, the biggest temple complex in Bali.. I do not exactly know if the temple complex still exists.. Because in 2015 and 2016 where large and heavy eruptions of Gunung Agung.. Because the temple complex is at the base of Gunung Agung.. With a hight of 3 100 metres it is an impressive, active volcano 🌋..
Keep up the these great videos..!! 👍👍👍

I hiked up an active volcano there in Hokkaido called Mt. Esan. It was just north of Hakodate. It was very similar to the one you hiked except you could practically drive right up to the top so not much hiking in reality. Which Mt. was this one you hiked?

Do you use anything to keep your camera dry during rain? I kept having anxiety that you were going to slip and drop the camera 😂

    1. I “hate” C.Hannah because, for someone who doesn’t travel (insert personal reasons) watching your videos make me just lose it. Travel agencies who sponsor you will making a killing. (Please don’t sell out though. You’re just amazing original).
    2. CZcams is great for many things. I usually watch with an intention, (to be entertained, informed etc..) but....
your channel I just watch cos it’s you. It just is wonderful! I don’t care what you post up. It’s always something I’d enjoy.
It’s no surprise that my first and only bell notification goes to you. ❤️
PS. haha.. spotted Singaporean accent from that couple that passed you? 😬
