to be fair if this game was released every 2 years rather than every year it would benefit the game more.its never gonna happen though.
Yeah I feel like yearly releases just kinda limits how much time they can develop the game and give it more major big features and improvements
Would be cool if they did for example released 2K22 then give 2023 a large road map of dlc up until 2K24, imo would give them more time to improve on the game and add more things people want
They can improve things in a year time but not by much and it generally just ends up being the same game with a slight difference
2k is a garbage company even on nba games inside the gameplay is slow glitchy buggy most moves don’t connect wen u do them haha can’t wait to watch the bugs
I basically mostly agree. Doesn’t just apply to regular, but the premium edition as well. Presuming WM 40 will be a showcase unlockable (after the patch). You’re paying an unbelievable amount of money for 5 attires. IN A GAME WITH Community Creations
I 100% DISAGREE about re-doing the entire gameplay engine. That would be a disaster and make us have to wait another 5 to 7 years for them to re-implement all the matches and everything back into the game. Look at the disaster AEW turned out to be and that game had been in development for about 2+years and almost half way into its release cycle it still sucks. The base gameplay is ok. But everything else is crap. I do agree they could’ve done way more with the backstage area in 2k24 though.
AEW issue is also a far smaller development team. The first game is always the building blocks. Match types are just gimmicks, some of the best wrestling games like VPW2 or KoC or even All Stars didn’t need anything to show how good it was.
The combo system sucks to me, just doesn't feel like a wrestling game anymore. The system from WWE 2K17-20 should've been improved on, the game just feels clunky and stiff now.
Appreciate the honesty since it seems like most people are afraid to speak on it truthfully due to how the fans of wwe games meat-ride it regardless of how it looks.

I felt the same way for 2K23. I did not buy it because the new stuff was NOT worth the price tag, like weapon taunts and Wargames are not enough.
Since I skipped last year, 2K24 for me MIGHT be better, AFTER i see what the game has to offer. Otherwise it will be another pass, or if I buy, it will be under a heavy discount.
Pick up and play, AEW aimed for that and how did that game work out? As for online, personally I never played online. On my own or with friends sat next to me.
to be fair it's the lack of modes and content that kills aew.I think the gameplay is pretty good🎉
Much like TNA impact, the fundamentals are there but was not a complete game.
At least they are trying different things that they haven't done in years, if at all. It's not the hollow/wooden 15-19 games. 19 is still one of my favorite wrestling games, but since 22, they've really been trying to do different things and I respect that. I do think the combo system could be toned down a little bit, but I'm not sure how to tone it down without removing it altogether, though I do like the combo system. It adds a 'shoot fighting' aspect that I haven't felt since AKI, where you are working a match, but actually trying to win the match at the same time. As for the "free" cam. Why is it limited to just sim matches? Why not just go all the way and allow free cam for everything? 2K sports games have been doing this for years, even on the Dreamcast. Something that desperately needs an update is CAA. I really wish they have done something with it this year.
If they delay it to April or May then they have time to fix everything
I don’t believe a month or two will fix the overbearing problem of the engine itself. The devs are definitely trying their best with what they’ve got

2K24 is bit of better than 2K23.
It feels like a .5 release this year.

Im not sure whats going on with you but i dont like it. Dont leave the series man! Im optimistic that there still are some little surprises they havent revealed. I think this game will be very ENJOYABLEMENT for you. Lol. Just give it a real chance to win you over. I think it just might.

Thank god somebody else feels the same way I do. The showcase mode looks awful yet again; just lifeless, bland and not worth playing. In my opinion the real life footage is only there because they’re too lazy to animate cutscenes.
The gameplay is clunky and I totally agree that a lot of it could patched in. I think I’m gonna wait until the game gets totally redone from scratch.
The moment I saw it was still on PS4 and Xbox One that sealed me not buying this.
If this year was only on PS5/Series X I don't think we would've seen that much difference
Yeah, I'm guessing the slingshot tech just saves development time and makes their job easier but it would be cool to see it animated as what they used to be like, plus getting rid of the bland generic stock music that constantly loops after 10secs would be great plus adding a commentary team (I don't understand how all the other modes get one but not showcase)
Like on paper the slingshot tech sounds cool but just falls flat majority of time
I'm surprised by this point that developers are still making ps4/one versions of games tbh, with sports games it's quite common but I feel like those consoles are now just dragging newer consoles down

Not sure what people are expecting from these games anymore, they had to rework the engine from 2K22, 2K found a game engine that works now and they are building on it and ambulance plus casket match would work exactly how i would expect it to using a submission style system so it looks fine to me.
2K19 is a 5 year old game it was the best wrestling game for its time and now its outdated, 2K is not going back to that engine and are moving on, so what i tell people that want a game like 2K19 again is just stick to that game and dont buy or play the new ones and your problems are solved plus there are also some great looking mods for PC on 2K19 that can make the game look updated somewhat but thats about it. 2K24 looks fine to me sure it might just be an updated 2K23 but there wasen't a lot of bad things wrong with 2K23 to me so i'm sure 2K24 will sell well so dont expect 2K25 to be any different.

They didn’t go back to 2K19s engine because they didn’t know how to use Yukes coding that’s why 2K20 is not built from 2K19 and every one since.
I agree with @TheVenom2010 yes 2K19 was great and I miss it. HOWEVER, they had to adapt after what happened with Yukes so now they've been consistent since 2K22 I believe. I'm 100% sure that from here they'll just keep building but we won't see anything super drastic ALL AT ONCE like we would like until they drop last Gen and I think that's the hard truth.
@@backyardgaming2k19 is not better than 2k23. And it will certainly not be better than 2k24. 2k24 will have like a million things that you can’t do in 2k19.
I'll just buy the last gen version. There's no reason to spend $70 or more on these yearly titles anymore.
What justifies 10 bucks more for the PS5 version over the PS4 is what I want to know.

I mean, if you own a next gen console, I don't think you can buy the last gen versions (and I'm guessing ps4 also has this, so it'll be the same price probably)
Tbh if you were to buy the game but not spend the heaps you would just be better getting it on heavy sales (which is usually closer to christmas) you could get the standard for like cheap or deluxe for like $50
Even though by that time they would be getting ready for the next game, there's never really that much improvement for you to like instantly change to the newer versions, lol
@@SYXX-II I'll just buy a PS4 physical copy to play on my PS5. It's not like they can stop that version from working. Plus, I'm only getting this game for Special Referee mode. It's the one mode I wanted back. Everything else is meh.
