- A storm is brewing in the western town of Vermijo.
VERMIJO is a character driven western and touches on some real contemporary subjects - alcohol abuse, bullying, domestic violence as well as the usual favourites seen in westerns.
VERMIJO is a mystery period drama set in the old West of the 1880s Arizona Territory.
When their no-good brother is killed in a gunfight with a passing drifter, the sheriff and deputy of a small western town set off with a posse after the killer.
But they're not interested in justice, nor even revenge. They plan to use the drifter as an example to keep the rest of the town in line. Unfortunately for them, an old man has other ideas ... and when a startling secret is revealed, so does the town itself.
Featuring some fresh young talent, mainly from Arizona, the film stars Adam Gold, Noah Woods, Raymond Scott, Hayden Wilson, Tyler Burke, Sarah Berg, Heather Woods, Jay Gammon, Brandon Gomez and Richard Calvert and a host of local actors as townspeople.
It was filmed in Clarkdale, Arizona and at the Gammons Gulch Western Town, near Benson, Arizona.

Good Movie 🎬
"Just the same, we risk life 'n limb to make Vermijo a safe place to live in" - Sheriff Jim Lockhart. And, as it turns out, a very enjoyable film.
Although VERMIJO'S plot is essentially a classic story of 'good vs. evil'... one as familiar to fans of the genre as horses and barroom brawls... the appeal of this movie doesn't end there. The result is a western with more twists and turns than a wild stallion. Viewers who saddle up for this exciting ride are treated to interesting dialogue, breathtaking scenery, and memorable performances.
From a production standpoint, the film crew creatively takes advantage of the landscape's natural beauty, making good use of both tight and panoramic camera angles, including some very nice aerial shots. Together with the gorgeous lighting effects, the film is visually appealing throughout.
A similar approach is used in framing the actors as well. The frequent close-ups of their faces serve to take advantsge of interesting and revealing expressions. These visuals prove as effective in telling the story as the straight-forward and often-clever dialogue (i.e. "I will drill you from belly to backbone").
The pacing of the film is also instrumental in establishing the mood. Without sounding scripted, the give-and-take between the characters features natural, over-lapping conversation, made more effective by some carefully inserted moments with no dialogue at all. The technique raises the tension level when it's appropriate... and beneficial... to the story. Of course, all this is made possible under the creative direction of Paul Vernon.
What takes place in front of the camera is equally impressive. Several scenes... most notably the fight/showdown in the saloon between Luke and Ace, and the exchange between Luke and the sheriff at the jailhouse... are nicely done. Those two scenes show the degree of talent on display in this movie... actors who are as comfortable, and accomplished, performing stunts as they are delivering their lines. Examples of both are evident throughout the film.
I'm hesitant to single out any one performer... all were excellent and important to the success of the movie. So I won't... I'll mention two. Lol.
I thought Sarah Berg's portrayal of Eve was outstanding... such an emotional performance. In particular, her delivery of the speech to the sheriff where she reveals it was her that shot Ace is impressive... certainly a highlight of the film. Such a fine actress and fun to watch.
The other notable is Adam Gold as Sheriff Jim Lockhart. I've admired his work for several years, and Adam's role in VERMIJO did nothing to change my mind. His understated delivery in scenes that were better served by a less-boisterous approach allowed him to highlight his character's bad-guy persona when the action got heated. It also gave us a glimpse of the "good man" Eve claimed he once was, and the contrast made for a more complex, believable character. I've always felt Adam makes the actors around him better. I became convinced of it as I watched VERMIJO.
I've become quite enamoured with the films of Paul Vernon and his company, and VERMIJO is another reason why. Fans of westerns, a genre long considered dead, will appreciate seeing it brought back to life so effectively on the streets of Vermijo. Well done.

Thank you guys for a great movie and I really enjoyed it very much. Reminds me some of the old spaghetti Western's and 1950s with John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart period thanks guys, It was really enjoyable hopefully you have more. Your beginning reminded me of the 1970's movies I grew up with as a kid.
Excellent Movie!!!
I have seen a lot of these short western films and western movies all my life so I feel I have a qualified opinion. The plot was I admit a familiar one. But, Plato said, "There is nothing new under the sun." A Hollywood director paraphrased that by saying, "There are no new stories just different ways of telling it." The acting, I thought, was pretty good, better than many short films I have seen. As for authenticity cut em some slack. They are not Paramount or MGM so they need to spend wisely on what is important to the story itself. Hell, at least they could afford a town with more than two buildings, horses and more than a handful of cast members.
Advantage of traditional high ride holster with no tie down. Sometimes it works out.😉
Pretty darn good. Should have had some slop dripping off his boots at the end there.
Very interesting ducomentary western filem
The grandpa has super powers
Most beautiful..

i just seen this again with subtitles thanks so much it is really good. I was surprised that Tobias Tolney was not in the film? He featured in a lot of your productions is he still in the same business?
Me too. I thought Tolney would be in it too.
You do such great work. You deserve many more subscribers! 😃
Nope. Dude mounted horse from wrong side. Most up to that point was pretty good.
Yes, he mounted from the right side and I wondered why the horse let him get away with it.
I give it two tomatoes
It's hilarious that CZcams doesn't band this blood guts gun fight, but if you show A mother breast-feeding it's all over.
not bad for a 10 day shoot ...
Nothing great if the script was better would made a difference
New Western movies found way and places where to film this same as best of old westerns did. Technology and pictures did improve. Unfortunately acting didn't. Good thing or our history would not be remembered.
Is this a joke or comedy or what, it's just awful
This film was too corny for me and too long
It is a pity that they spent so much time and money on this movie and could not even spend $500 on a real reproduction Colt SAA.... and no... none of em ever had those disgusting brass grip frames like in this short. Please... buy or borrow something that does not scream low budget fake.
Beautiful teeth on these actors.
Auggggg that was bad🤣
Dialogue is awful and who am I supposed to care about in this???
pesima
