Introduction :
Lancé en toute discrétion en 2021, le film Willy's Wonderland s'inspirait librement du pitch scénaristique de Five Nights at Freddy's pour envoyer Nicolas Cage au beau milieu d'un restaurant bourré d'Animatronics Serial Killers. Un long métrage que j'ai vraiment apprécié pour son ambiance totalement barrée et l'interprétation encore plus folle de Mister Cage en "concierge" mutique et encore plus dangereux... que les automates eux-mêmes ! Alors forcément, quand j'ai appris qu'un jeu vidéo avait été développé sur base de cette oeuvre, je me suis empressé de demander un code de test à mon contact presse pour découvrir ce titre développé par le studio Mito Games et lancé sur PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch et PC pour le prix de 4,99€. Alors, prêt pour une petite balade dans un beat'em up qui vous fera affronter Tito Turtle, Siren Sara, Arty Alligator, Cammy Chameleon et Willy Weasel en compagnie du Concierge et de Liv ? Suivez-moi donc dans ce vidéo-test de Willy's Wonderland : The Game sur Nintendo Switch !
Conclusion :
Fruit d'un développement rushé à mort et de monstrueuses contraintes économiques, Willy's Wonderland : The Game est exactement l'opposé de son modèle cinématographique. En effet, là où le film nous livre une prestation bien barrée de Nicolas Cage dans un déferlement de violence et d'humour trash, le titre de Mito Games nous propose des personnages totalement lambdas avec des coups identiques, aucune mise en scène, des hit-boxes foireuses, des ennemis qui tournent en boucle, une mollesse sans nom et une réalisation qui a tout du jeu mobile porté à la va-vite. Bref, le soft n'a pas grand chose pour lui hormis son prix sous la barre des 5€, son jeu à deux en local et sa première demi-heure assez fun. Clairement trop maigre à mon goût et une belle claque dans la figure pour les fans du long métrage !

Points négatifs : Zéro cut-scene pour l'histoire/ Aucune différence de gameplay entre les deux persos/ Des hit-boxes bien foireuses/ Ultra répétitif/ Des ennemis trop peu variés/ Aucun coup n'arrête les animations de votre adversaire/ La fille au drone est totalement cheatée/ C'est d'une mollesse extrême/ Une vraie gifle pour les fans du film

BTW, when you have the full FUN bar you can enter a rage mode, where you slowly loose it, but you can refill it again making combos, and use stronger version of the powers.. if you use the rage again while in rage, you kill all enemies on screen (apart from bosses ehhe)

And I agree with all your critics.. and we know that.. We just had the authorization from the movie brand to make a simple version of wardogs, and only worked on the Art..We had by contract to release it in 6 months for mobile and had 0 budget to port it or make a new version for consoles.. but still, we are happy most of the movie fans didn't hit us very hard, which we knew was a risk, but still was an opportunity for us and we are happy we did it ^^ thanks for the honest feedback!! U got a new fan and SUB!! LETS GET THOSE 100K! (Let me know if you want to play some of our own games and I will gladly send you any keys :P )

This was a small 0 budget kind of fan project, we used our previous game Wardogs to make it and it was a lot of fun for us, but its a simple game ^^ let me know if you want to play any of our other games, I would love to see your review in French on ALL of our games ^^
