It's likely they registered a new company under the new name, so a different company number, and is exactly the reason for the difficulties the enforcement people were having.

It's unbelievable that people have issues with bailiffs/sheriffs; when people agree to pay someone, but have problems or simply decide not to pay, then they basically make their problem YOUR problem - which is disgusting and dishonest. PAY YOUR DEBTS AND OBLIGATIONS!!!
Bailffs aren't the only option, you can get a charge on any property, force them to attend court to reveal any assets or be in contempt, attachment of earnings if they are employed or wind the company up so they can no longer trade.
