What really made so many of these shots possible was precision in communication between teammates like " *AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!* "
Underrated comment
4:04 i'm sorry what? that was literally perfect
Yeah, while the rest were good, that was one where the stone only touched the other colors while leaving theirs intact, no idea why is it so low.
I was about to say . . . "That was not possible . . ." I like your comment better.
Yes very satisfying lol
How do you even call for that? Amazing!
My jaw dropped lol. Amazing
I had a great time. Combining elements from bowling and light housekeeping.
...and bringing in the groceries after an ice storm...
ahahah!
I’m so confused😭...😂😂😂
*heavy, house keeping
@Guppy Bill 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's 12am
CZcams: Wanna see curling's best shots?
Me: Sure do!
CZcams is really stealing ESPN’s whole shtick
Literally me just now... 😂
Yyyyyup! Me too.
Now I'm going to go yell at some rocks.
I know it's not an amazing spectator sport. However, the skill of these players is incredibly underrated.
I played Junior curling in Northern Ontario decades ago. We made it to the finals to represent at the Nationals. There is more to this game than meets the eye. The ice conditions dictate how much "broom" you have to give. That means where you place the broom for the shooters to aim at. It also depends on how fast you are throwing the rock. The ice conditions often change as the game progresses as well. I played at this one club where frost would force the people playing the first draw of the evening to throw "peel" weight in order to get the rocks into the house!! After about 2-3 ends the temperature would rise due to the people on the ice and it would be normal conditions the rest of the night. yeah these guys make shots that the average curler would have to attempt several times to even get close to these results.
What are you talking about?!? It’s a fantastic spectator sport!! And trust me, us die hard curling fans know exactly how talented our boys and girls are!! 😊👍🏻
@@MickLoud999 Peel weight for a draw! I'd like to see it lol
@@MiffetBlue there’s a reason why it’s not more popular lol
i think if more people could try playing it, more would understand what is actually done there, right? and maybe if we compare it to beginners, we may get some clues? :)
I first saw curling in the Winter Olympics and I have been fascinated with it ever since ...it is so amazing and awesome!!!! I love it!!
I'm not a big curling fan but FINALLY a video that isn't composed of at least 80% football and baseball...there may actually be hope for this channel.
LOVING the OG brooms at 11:40.
My favourites:
8:55 : never seen such a creative shot in my lifetime
13:53: look at that perfection!
14:45 is insane too
12:35 is one of my favourites!! Curling must run in his family's blood I mean his son for example is an Olympic silver medalist and European champion
I'm starting to develop a huge love for this sport
It's underrated it requires both physical and psychological skills c:
You are damn right ! and tactical skills.
barely
This is true
Ehh I’d go easy on the physical. I’m not saying these players aren’t in great shape, but this in no way compares to pole vaulting, long jumping, shot put ect…. Ive seen some chunky curlers, never seen a chunky 400m
Actually everything in life requires physical and psychological skills
#40 - are you kidding me !!!!! And of course #1. Nothing short of Amazing!!!!
The video saved my life. I was ONE more sleepless night of insomnia away from chemical burn kisses and making soap with my pal Tyler in his house in the industrial section of town.
Underrated comment... at the same time, it's a curling video (not many people will see it).
this is so satisfying
What an amazing video! I love watching curling during winter Olympics and that was just so much fun to watch. Thanks for sharing these awesome moments.
There's a reason curling is one of my favourite sports. These shots are perfect examples of that. This is a game entirely of skill, one that requires focus and accuracy beyond what you see in almost any other sport.
just like American football
I just stumbled across this while stoned. So sorry to hear that This is your favorite sport..
Better than basketball by far.
mid
You don't seem a person that will drop a drop of sweat doing anything if is not because of summer heat. Therefore, you like this stupid "sport"
What a beautiful sport. I loved watching it.
My wife and I played curling in a mixed league for about five years. The best part was the drinking and socializing after the game.
Men of culture, i see we meet again
I'm a woman though
@@maggieisloved and women of culture as well
The most underated sport of all time. I've tried it. It's freaking hard. I'm better at golf and no one disrespects golf. Add in boccii and bowls if you want. Curling is harder. Love it.
Yeah true a lit people who have never tried it will say it's easy and very simple and will often say it's barely a sport but that just not true I requires a lot of skill and is quite difficult to understand
Yeah... exactly. It's hard to keep balance. Really hard. Slipping and sliding around. The rock sorta feels heavier than you and it's frustrating if you feel you given it too much weight.
Golf isn’t a sport. There is no direct contact with an opponent. Curling is a sport because there is direct contact. The stones are an extension of the player and can be hit by the other player. In golf this doesn’t count and the ball gets dropped.
@@stuntcock8921 are you currently in a mental asylum
Forgot how much i love curling this is great
Damn, so many insane shots, truly insane shots, God, curling is an amazing sport, I just love it!
I was in the 2nd row for #8. Shot brought us all to our feet.
Curling gets me so hyped up! LFG!
I just had a clinic with my coworkers this afternoon and it's so incredibly fun to do. Just the satisfaction of finally getting a Rock in the circle is worth all the while. I can only imagine how satisfying it is to play one of these amazing shots. Mesmerizing
20 minutes of pure entertainment. The last shot by Jennifer Jones, I remember watching that live on TV.
I enjoyed this way more than i thought i was going to
I got goosebumps! there was some satisfying shots
Super nice collection! Thanks!
I mean the sheer athletic ability to wield a broom like that is mind-blowing!
50 Great CANADIAN curling shots. Even at that, where was Pat Ryan's raised triple in the world final Vs Norway? Easily top 5 on any list.
This is the first time I watch this sport after just hearing about it. After watching all these shots I can conclude, the floor is so clean!
I *could* look up the rules, but I’m waiting for the Will Ferrell movie.
🤣🤣🤣🙃🙃🙃
I have an idea, a$$whipe. Tell a Major League pitcher he has to throw a ball that lands ON home plate. See if he can do it.
Last one is super greattt!!
11:48 Those sweepers was funny as hell to se.
This probably one of the most enjoyable things to me at this point.
Love how graceful the release always is.
Curling, o esporte mais técnico e fantástico que conheço . Incrivel emocionante. Amo esse esporte. I love it
i immediately had to go to #1 because there is only one shot imo that it could be. i was wrong but i was pleasantly surprised. great video
This is literally magic
I wish that curling were available in the portion of the US where I live.
31: Pure art! Beautiful.
Who would have thunk people trapped and house bound from feet of snow could turn Swiffering the floors into a National pastime
My favourite sport at olympics. Underrated and game full of tactical geniuses!
I love all the shouting and how intense it becomes at times 🙂
idk why people dont like this. this is an insane skill
Primera vez que miro esto y ya me está interesando.
I’m really surprised how amazed I was at this lmao I looked it up mentioning how weird all sports really are but this one is top 5
What amazes me the most is the footwork coordination of the people doing the sweeping and how they don't hit anything with the broom they use
Not many people on the Internet realize how much skill this game requires.
Everyone thinks the sweepers are doing all the work, mostly because they get all the screen time. In truth, the sweepers make the stone go a little faster and have some influence on the stone's path, maybe 15% of the game. However, the person throwing the stone has to line it up just right, or no sweeper can make a remotely passable (much less actually good) shot out of it. Every time I play, the only time a stone doesn't do what its supposed to is because of a bad throw. It takes skill to throw a good shot.
Then there's the skip (the person holding the broom at the far side), who has to precisely tell the thrower exactly where to aim, and how hard to throw the stone. He/she also has to know when exactly the sweepers have to sweep, and he/she has to effectively communicate this to the sweepers. These precision shots in this video are a result of careful planning and very precise execution, not some stroke of luck. Players who have years invested in this sport often can't do this well.
I see why some uninformed people might think that it's not hard to play curling, but trying to throw just once WILL humble you, I would put money on it.
Thank you for putting some light in this comment section
10/10 Perfect Sport
This sport is so amazing. At 1:06, the stone had almost stoped then it slided again :o
amazing!
And Then… Hefest Got… this run.
I love this game for several reasons one of which is that politeness is key
I’m so glad I found this while stoned
Definitely inspiring shots. What is missing, though, is a note telling us whether the shot helps the team earn a win. Great shots by themselves are interesting, but great shots that lead to a win are definitely more enjoyable.
woooo yaaa oooouuu waooo ahhhh ohhhh goooooolllllll
This video will make anyone a curling fan
Pretty sick actually.
I just moved to Northern Minnesota and was invited to be on the company Curling Team. I absolutely love it. I am terrible, but I throw lead and have a former Olympic Coach as my skip, so I think we should be ok.
wow 13:43 was an amazing shot, congrats on the great curling trainers.
Esporte interessante. Alguns princípios de sinuca, usa rochas em formato de panela de pressão com alças de ferro de passar. E aparentemente, os gritos ajudam a conduzir as rochas... Obrigado youtube, boa distração em tempos de quarentena.
Imprecise curling is painful
Precise curling is divine.
"Curling is the greatest Olympic event of all time". I was the first and only person on the planet to write that rare and unique comment.
I want to see a Ladies of Curling calendar.
there are certainly some attractive women Curlers... not so much the case for the gents.
I think there has been some. The Russian women put out a lingerie calendar IIRC.
There have been,… even a “tastefully nude” curling calendar….
I just stopped in to say i have no clue how anyone can watch curling for that long, but I'm gonna try
Forgot to mention the top 50 of greatest CANADIAN curling scores
Yeah, the thumbnail is really misleading. They missed out some great shots from players who are from other countries.
Yeah, I would have expected the USA 5-ender to win Olympic gold in 2018 otherwise
The uploader was too busy making useless copyright disclaimer waffle to mention that.
I have no idea what’s going on but I love the intensity
I can be quite intense at times with all the shouting
My dad was a curler for a while. He told me that proper etiquette for congratulating the opposing team after making shots like these is to say "Nice shot, asshole."
Haard haaaarddd
"Good sweepin on it". That's all you need to know
Only at #40 but that was incredible.. had to stop to leave a comment.
Casi me dio un ataque al corazon de lo arriesgado y emocionante que es el curling ademas de la excelente condicion fisica que deben tener los participantes
CoD pro Players tienen mejor condición
ive never seen so many people happy to sweep
It's not the same as sweeping the house when you are cleaning 😂
LETS GOOOOOOO
pogchamp
I love this. I don't know why. Don't even know anything more than they're trying to hit the 🎯... But it's awesome. 😂
Team only scores at end of round. Only the team with their stone nearest to the center gets score. They also count each matching stone that is closest for more points as long as the opposing color isn't between them. That's why you'll see them knocking the opponents stone away even if they are already on the bull.
@@danc1197 That makes a clearer picture for me, thank you! Nowww, if I can only remember that for the next Olympic curling session 3 years from now LOL.
@@randyrawdingii5135 you mean in 3 months right?
@@MNsLegoChannel yes, yesss of courseee. Snuck up on me LOL.
Thank you CZcams algorithm
Great skill level, in determining the angles and plotting your shot. Only other game that is more difficult is Snooker and pool, where you have to put your ball in position for the next shot.
Esse jogo é cativante kkkk
What a fantastically weird sport!
If you look at this video, you have to think, that great curling shots only can made by Canadian Teams.
Haha, yeah. I came here hoping to see all the greatest shots, but apparently it was the greatest shots by Canadians.
.....and your point is? 😆
You're right, they should have used the footage from all the other countries that regularly televise curling.... oh there aren't any?
Love it
Can we see a sequel with non-Canadians? :)
There is non-canadians in this tho..? Canada are good at curling that's why there is so many incredible shots by Canadian players
#1 was a formality. The moment the Jones legend was born.
I like the part where they yell at the stone hoping to scare it into submission.
Lmfao this is hilarious
WOWWW
Do I care about curling? No
Did I watch this entire 20 minute video? Yes, yes I did
What are the stones made of?
I always take them for granite!
Damn it's nice when a plan comes together 🙂
There should be a "Top 50 calls by Glen Howard" lol HURRRYYYY HARRRRDDDDD!!! Lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My dad is briefly in the camera shot! He volunteers at the Brier doing the socreboard and you can see him at the start of the shot lol
HHHHHHHAAAARRRRDDDD!!!!!
Kept worrying the sweepers were going to trip and fall. Wonder how this could work in golf?
#1 was insane shot
Number one was an easy double, nothing insane about it. *yawn
Hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yea... this sport seems like it takes a whole 15 minutes to learn...
Idk how they don't kick those things, they have crazy footwork
I always wanted to be one of those guys that keeps the ice clean.
Team USAs shot against Sweden to win the Gold Medal should've been in the Top 5 of this list.
