@@startrek1992 Only 1.3% PS4 players have beaten the Oxide times (Based on the ps4 trophy) so I would not be surprised if it only around 0.1% of people who manage to beat them. I've noticed that some of the dev times are only a few secs of the world record times.

Ya man I am so glad you put Out of Time on this list. It was the last track I had a couple weeks ago for the Dev Times and it just fuckin took me forevvvvver man. William P doesn't go super ham but on that last lap if your keeping up or are ahead it feels like your flying witht the eagles so to speak. I think in Deep Sea Driving you are racing against the track itself, not the ghost. Most runs end by hitting the fans and not by being unable to mantain reserves or catching up the ghost (unlike tracks like Out of Time or Turbo Track where where you need to also have a good reserves management). I think when you practice Turbo Track it also becomes way easier. A few days ago tried to implement ground u-turning on the S curve and coupled with some other optimizations got my time down to 1:30:73. I even managed to beat William P twice in a row and then again a few runs later. After that I went to Dragon Mines to see if I can improve my time and not only I didn't, I couldn't even beat William P again!
I Grinded on slide coliseum for 6 hours last night . 300 attempts later and I'm 2 tenths of the dev time( 1m 41.1, I know i can do it, just gotta do a low 34s first lap otherwise you fall too far behind. I also have to have a break for a few days as my form was slipping towards the end from tiredness and sore hands. I really Enjoy your videos

Regarding Turbo Track, I too thought it was (one of) the hardest, but once I got up to Retro Stadium and knew what to do, I had no trouble doing it again.
Pokono I never understood what was so hard about it. As long you u-turn out of the dirt patch, u-turn the corner going into the ramp shortcut, and go down the middle in the minefield, all that’s left is to maintain blue fire. A lot of people found it hard though so I’m not judging anyone who did.
Currently at 17/40 myself, and reckon I can only squeeze one or two more out. I reckon if I go at Megamix Mania, Blizzard Bluff and Crash Cove enough, I could manage to conquer them, but the others, there are some I know I will never beat, like Cortex Castle, Out of Time and Turbo Track, for the simple fact that I can't figure out u-turning to save my life. It just doesnt mesh with me. I know more or less how to do it, I just cant make my fingers do what they need to, so I just stick to air braking. That being said, one of the devs i've beaten is Deep Sea Driving (and then set a new PB afterwards, reaching 33rd in the online Switch leaderboards when I set it), and I cant u-turn for shit, so idk what that says about me xD
Keep practicing u-turn. The more you practice u-turn the better you'll get. It takes time but practice. I recently beat all of the developers time yesterday. You got this man, don't give up. Practice u-turn to when you know it by instinct.
Someone really need to make William P. the very hard (new difficulty) CPUs in standard/boss battle (the CPUs are always taking the same pathline so it can be automated like time trials)

Completed Out of Time after 2 hours of grinding this morning and completed drive-thru danger in like 6 attempts. Only Megamix Mania and Deep Sea Driving remain. I am scared.
I just barely beat Turbo Track. After like 3 hours maybe even more. If William P. didn't screw up the end I think I would've given up. Doing well in the u turn section 3 laps in a row isn't easy and for me it's definitely the hardest track. Bar none. I attempted Out of Time for like 2 hours also. But I kept messing up the 3rd lap. I'm getting better at it though. At least every other track feels like progress unlike Turbo Track feels more like luck. 😂 4 more left for me. Out of Time, Deep Sea Driving, Megamix Mania and Drive Thru Danger. 👍
@@lilcoke4069 Drive-Thru danger isn't too hard I don't think, as long as you don't lose your fire the dev kinda takes some wider lines on the second and especially the third lap where I found myself extending my lead. Good luck on those last few!

Squash Face My strategy was to jump into the bump on the left hand side to 1) get a jump boost 2) be closer to the fence. The right side most of the times is too far to get over it properly. It’s the same for the dragon mines shortcut. The bump on the left gives you a big boost. But yeah it gets worse than that.

Unpopular opinion. Well idk if opinion is the right word, but I digress, for some reason I didn't struggle with Turbo Track as much as most people did. It took me 19 attempts. I do agree that I could not consistently set a dev-worthy time in that track like I can tracks like N-Gin Labs, Inferno Island, and Hyper Spaceway, but just setting the dev time once wasn't all that bad for me. Thunderstruck on the other hand might be the easiest dev that took me more than 60 attempts.
Dragon mines was my #1. I'm sure I had put out over 100+ attempts on that track, I got to a point where I could get ahead of William P. (Most of the time) by the time I took the shortcut but I would always get squished by that damn minecraft 15% of the time. Took me a while to find my own path, and I can't get over how you have to get that tiny jump boost on that damn hill right before the finish line each time. Dragon mines is probably the one track that would have broken me if I wasn't so patient and determined. It's the longest I've ever spent doing a dev time by far. Not even Blizzard Bluff or Turbo Track.
Turbo Track was definitely the hardest for me. I thought I was good at it before the dev ghosts. 100+ attempts later I finally got it. I was actually going to skip Retro Stadium but I couldn't stand the one missing star on the menu. That only took 13 tries and it felt so satisfying to see how much I'd improved.
I am only just starting the CNK tracks, I have managed to beat pretty much everything so far with drift and I am really enjoying it. Turbo Track and Slide seemed much easier with drift for me.
To be honest, there shouldn't be a top 5 most hardest game developers time trails, because every single one of them is so difficult, I wish the cheats would work.

The pressure of doing it for the first time definitely had DSD at #1 for me for a bit. But having to the Dev times on another console made previous hard times easier. Particularly Meteor, Crash Cove, and Rustland. Slide and Turbo are still ass on a second playthrough tho.
William P. the Grim Reaper , the absolute legend. i want another time trial challange from Beenox with William left on his own devices and setting up real times, not intentionally screwing up in the last lap so people could beat his time

I did deep sea driving in 2 attempts but when I did Velos I found it very difficult.

For papus pyramid it’s the same with deep sea driving if you can find a consistent strategy for the square spiral you can do it really easily
