With how many real life animals that Mojang has added to raise awareness about their real life endangerment, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't encourage players to kill the last remaining member of a extremely endangered species and reward them for it.

Let's say that the end was a broken dimension and the dragon was a self defense mechanism
Seeing as how the dimension was already being destroyed
You can fertilize the egg with end crystals, maybe Minecraft would make it so that the dragons can live on and you won’t have to kill the ender dragon if only this was the real lore

I like how that all of this of this is on bedrock edition (you can know by the way that tnt expoldes and the shape of time as well and by the way that chest opens and how end crystals shoot lasers and such ;))

Note to self: after beating game, use ender crystals to hatch the egg and go back into the overworld, this way the Ender dragon is alive and you can also escape.

And inter dimensional travel using pearl statis is not possible

Well you forgot one thing:
After the story one obsidian from the tower fell off on Jeans head making her forgot all other attacks and have terrible sense of combat.

What actually happened is the ender man tried to make a bigger end portal so they made obsidian pillars and put end crystals on them. But by accident they summoned the ender dragon and they were trapped.

I think that the Dragons originally came from a possible 4th dimension Considering the achievement "Free the end" could mean that the player frees the end from the invasive Dragon species. I also think the endermen and ancient builders built the end cities together to try to protect and themselves and fight against the Dragons

Then why's the achievement called *free* the end. Although you did say that the ancient builders could have interbreeded with the endermen so the ender-humans could be trapped by the enderdragon
So in theory, what were to happen if you killed the dragon collected the egg respawned the dragon then put the egg back after it was respawned?
(And furthermore lets say you have a pearl statis chamber and your friend activates it afterwards)

The dragon's name is Carson and the endermen accidentally spawned it thinking it would make a portal. The dragon would die of old age then they harvest the heads and put them onto end ships in memory of the dragon bit the dragon always laid an egg that they couldn't destroy and it would hatch another dragon making an endless loop. That's why killing the dragon has the achievement name "free the end"

i think the last dragon is called 'the end' but her alias is jean. then 'free the end is freeing the dragon of its prison (the end) by killing it. i like your theory though.
