@@HaanSoIo Yep, got my ducky 3 series in yesterday and I still have my trusty frozen llama mecha case, everything fits in just right, they have the exact same cut outs and everything.
@@bigbenmk4873 It is, GH60 compatible. You can fit this pcb into a tofu case if you wanted to, but keep in mind it still has plate mount stabs and north facing leds

the gateron v2 switch puller helps a ton with the plate scuffs when swapping switches. 100% worth the money imo

I’m always in pain every time a new keyboard like this comes out because I really want it but know dang well I can’t get it
forget it honestly. it's 120$ and the switches suck so you gotta spend another 50$ for a set of budget but decent switches, go through the trouble of replacing them all, maybe also lube them for an extra 10$ plus the time and effort of doing so to get an actually good ducky one 3 mini rgb. you might as well grab yourself a redragon k552 with a hotswap pcb and do the same plus some modding for cheaper than the actual price of the one 3.
@@crisscrossam I own the k552 right now and I put hella foam in it, and it is pingy as hell. The hotswap sockets are not hotswappable with standard switches and yeah I know that you can use akko cs switches, but I have other issues with the board and I generally dont recommend it.

I bought this keyboard!!! It's so buttery smooth. Changes everything for me I love it.
Most cases I have seen that are aluminum have sounded worse to me than plastic. Aluminum needs a lot of modding and sound deadening to make it sound acceptable to me. I agree they feel nicer and weightier, but the trade off isn’t worth it to me imo

That scene where the keys fly of, so smooth! I'm in the market for a new 60% and this looks great. Because it's plastic, it's lightweight and easier to take with me, which to me is a plus.
Cherry switch’s are great especially browns I got it in this keyboard and love it
I love this keyboard replaced the switches with black ink v2’s and it sounds good. Only problem I’ve had with it is trying to update the software because the keys wouldn’t register and you’d have to hit them again for jt to work sometimes when gaming. The software just wouldn’t update but I found a fix someone showed on yt

I wonder if it is just a not great batch of cherry clears.. I got them on my Miya pro panda and I think they are fantastic. Haven't had the chance to take a dive into hotswappable keyboards yet to experiment with other switches.
Maybe since you haven’t tried many premium switches so that is your standard for good? Not to sound snobby sry if it comes off that way.

Most people get clears for that ergo clear feel (basically lighter spring clears), but yeah cherry clears are pretty scratchy especially with the fact that they weren't part of the Hyperglide retooling. (Side note, the Cherry switches the enthusiasts like are the full nylon black switches. There's also vintage switches, but those are a whole other story.) Lube should help, but honestly in the current market alternative brands are a better option.

I just got mine in last week and it is magical, especially since my 1 2 mini doesn’t work anymore after it met a beer.
One thing of note, the Matcha and Fiji models are not RGB. Only the Daybreak and yellow boards have RGB lighting.

From the looks of it it should fit the same cases from KBDFans that the One 2 Mini fitted in (4 mounting holes used are in the same spot at least) if you really want an aluminium case that's actually decent.

I have the sf version with the silent reds and even though they do scratch a bit it still wayyyyy better than something like a razer keyboard and four around the same price too

@@kadenyee5423 I like them a lot more. It depends what you want. The reds on something like a razer keyboard have a hard clack when they bottom out, the silent reds on the ducky have like a creamy mush. I like typing on the silent reds way more and my girlfriends likes it more too

Cherry might be scratchy, but they are consistent in actuation point and less wobbly.

Anyone know how to disassemble the tkl version. The screws are under the freaking back kickstands and are impossible to get to.

Durgod Venus is a better board. Aluminium case & better choice of switches. Personally, would opt for a budget KBD67 build for just a little more money.

Why the cable is in the left but most people put the computer in the right I don't get it
It is interesting how mainstream perception on Cherry MX has changed. Of course competition has influenced what these switches are compared against, but I still can't help but wonder whether all these reviewers fawning over Cherry back in the day where in fact just following the hypetrain without critical thoughts of their own (yeah, of course, that is what influencers do, but many Techtubers do not consider themselves influencers but journalists, which transforms this lapse into a critical point in my opinion). For me at least, this makes it harder to value their opinion in the future (nothing against Frank specifically, just a general vibe I get lately).
it wasn't a hype train. as you said, they had nothing to compare against. Cherry MX switches were straight up synonymous with mech switches just a few years ago, almost nonexistant competition, so people fawning over the switches were basically fawning over mech keyboards in general.
more exposure to different quality products has made the complexion of the market different, so reviewers will give a more critical take of the older products.
i still think there's a bit of exaggerating the varying quality of switches which is not to my taste, but that's just me.
The perception of Cherrys have gone down, that is true, but they are also Cherry Clears rather than the more commonly used Reds or Browns. The Clears are just not great overall.
@@xordid I agree, I bought corsair k70 in 2016 cherry Mx red and I still have and I like it. I have not been exposed to those new switches and keyboard. I tried only the mainstream like logitech and razer, etc. I liked corsair the most and picked it, now I'm looking for either ducky or GMMK and give them a shot I do like hotswap because I can buy all types of switches and try them at home I think it cost 15/20$ one switch of every type.

if you dont need hot swap like me just get ducky mecha mini put foam under the pcb and o rings if you need and you are rdy to go :D upgrading to from mecha mini to ducky 3 isnt worth it

@@Havocaveli I think he was referring to your statement of putting o rings. There is a trend that putting o rings on keycaps (if that is what you meant) is bad since it brings back membrane feel and sound (kinda). Don't mind it though if you like it, at the end of the day as long as you are satisfied then it is all good.
However, I highly suggest trying out a hotswap board and trying out different switches, even budget ones from AKKO, KTT, JWK etc.
@@vectivuz1858 na a lot of people just prefer it i actually just use it for my spacebar. Well i just wanted to say if someone is satisfied with his switches the upgrade to ducky 3 is totaly not worth it i love my brown switches :) and trys all mx switches so i dont need that upgrade but im not that much in the keeb scene that i have to try out really all switches im a gamer not a typer

@@sakana-Iuke I used to daily drive the ducky one 2 mini (only mod being tape mod) and loved it (still do). The only reason I didn't continue using it was because it didn't have a hotswap pcb. My guess is that you'll be super happy with your purchase especially if you're into tinkering, try modding it a bit. (tape mod, band-aid mod, lubing stabs/switches etc)
Some enthusiasts will tell you that the mx clears it comes with are terrible and scratchy (e.g. this vid) but honestly they don't "ruin" the experience nearly as much as they make it out to seem.
Tl;Dr: probably a great first purchase. Have fun modding it, if you're into that. Don't let keyboard snobs make up your mind for you.
