  • Painting your softbaits gives the bait a fantastic finish, but paint the will hold in water is both hard to get and expensive. I this video I will show you how to paint your softbait with normal acryllic airbrush paint and then give them a coating of softplastic.

    thank you for your prompt response. i'm new to painting lures. just started with buying white and clear plastics and lures and simply air brushing them. nothing fancy yet. your videos have really helped and inspired me. 🙂

      In many ways the painting is where the lure comes alive, but still you should consider making some lures from the start. Its really worth it when you catch on it

    try taking a large hole pepper shaker to dash on some glitter immediately after dipping into soft plastic, then cool in water and dip again.

    I paint my big soft plastics with acrylics and then clear them with lureworks soft plastic paint (clear). I brush the clear on, not before clearing them thoroughly with an acrylic clear. If not careful, you will pull off the acrylic color with the lureworks soft plastic clear paint. Won’t peel and it’s there for the duration

    • @Samuel-kz3vo
      @Samuel-kz3vo Před rokem

      It’s because lureworks clear isn’t a coating paint. Read the description of it. It’s just clear paint

    Did you try to heat a painted lure with a heat gun for a while? That should melt the plastic slightly and to get the paint in. Also the top layer would stick better to the body. I have never tried that myself, it just what I thought may work.
    Cheers

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  Před 8 lety

      I think you would have to be very carefull not to burn the paint, and if the plastic starts to get runny it would be hard to handle. But with a little attention it should be possible. As I have the oven anyway its just so easy to set it to a safe temperature and but the baits in there

    • @SplishSplashFishing

    Hi! I am also engaged in soft baits for personal use and have long thought to paint them with an airbrush. I don’t know what kind of paint should be used for silicone, so that it does not wear out quickly. Tell me what paint you use or similar in composition. mistakes.

    • @SplishSplashFishing
      @SplishSplashFishing  Před 5 lety +1

      In this video I use normal airbrush paint, but it will only work well if you coat afterwards. For lasting paint without coating, you should look for CAB coatings or Bright Bait in Belgium. But it requires a ventilated paintboot I would say
