Zac Kendall he cant. We are not allowed out in the Sun Light with all that UV that hills COVID in next to no time BECAUSE WE MAY SPREAD COVID
Wait, what? You can’t go where COVID don’t live but instead have to stay where it does? I’m just an Engineer but THAT MAKES NO SENSE
A friend and I were coming back from a day hike and got stuck in soft sand blocking a road to the trail. There were probably a half dozen people that offered to tow the car with their trucks... except no one had a tow strap. Luckily we were all able to push the car out of the sand trap. Now we both have tow straps in our cars.
Having a paper road atlas isn't emergency essentials, it's a daily essential. I was traveling through BFE Iowa and the road was closed unexpectedly. With no cell service the atlas helped me find an alternate route and saved me an hour+ of turning around to find service.
Definitely keep the tow straps, I carry two just in case I find someone else that needs help. I've already used them to help 3 different people last year. Also, this is Iowa and people go off into the ditch every winter, all winter
I can relate. Thoughts on a portable (cigarette lighter) jump starter?
By the way, I was taught it's 3 minutes (Oxygen), 3 hours (shelter/harsh environment), 3 days (water) and 3 weeks (food) .
Fix-a-Flat turns to cement inside your tire, can jam up the valve and stem, and will corrode unprotected aluminum. I suggest Slime. It comes in a bottle that you drain/squeeze into your tire, no need for a pressurized canister. The regular type works fine for me, but the ATV mix is heavier duty (think "running an already flat tire without murdering your wheel").
u need actual water ( two small bottles and one 5 or ten litre with tap ) bank line. wire, pliers or multi tool, new tape, decent torch, small torch x2. poncho liner x2, thermal blanketx2. small towel. soap and loo paper, bug spray or tea tree oil. sun block. hat. couple of tea lights . army tin opener and a few tins of stew etc. fire steel. first aid kit. plastic bags. coffee tea sugar and salt. some bullion cubes and a pot to boil water/ cook food. 2kg white rice. Also a syphone hose and 5 litres of spare fuel in proper container. and two small candles and of course the knife. And a better first aid kit.
Were the esbit tabs completely destroyed? That’s what I found for mine. Also, be aware that fixaflat should not be used with some of the newer tires.
Do you still have that awesome FJ Cruiser?
Warm weather problems. Life in the north takes a lot more room.
I think we need to hear the TP story.
tarp's and keep the straps, more than just tow
Just some thing to think about, my friend had one of those packs for his dog, and while he had VERY little weight in it, the dog running and jumping around created a MASSIVE amount of dynamic load on his back and actually injured the dog. A few miles in to a hike, the dog jumped off a log, screamed and collapsed right there. He had to carry his dog out screaming in pain the entire way. The vet ripped his ass saying a dog is NOT a pack animal that slowly WALKS along and does not create dynamic loads. A dog runs, and jumps and is checking things out all over, do YOU put 15% of your body weight on your back and run and jump and do things that a dog enjoys doing on a walk, and YOUR back is vertical and the dogs is horizontal? The vet REALLY tore into him and rightly so, as the dog should not have had weight on his back or at the very least, he should have been on a leash to control his movement to try and reduce the risk of the dog being injured. The vet did everything they could but the dog was injured too badly and had to be put down.
Long story short, the vet said if you're too damn lazy to carry what your dog needs, leave your dog at home or carry the dogs needs yourself.
wjf213 damn. The vet sounds like he ripped the dude a new one. As if he didn’t feel bad enough. Crap.
How would poop get on a shovel? Are you digging poop out of a hole? Or digging a hole to poop in?
If you gotta ask....
@@ITStactical If i gotta ask, then what?
@@ITStactical Here's a pro tip: Dig a hole, poop in it, cover the hole with dirt.
Jeremy Mccook sometimes the bombing run misses the intended target.
I also don't see how you would get poop on a shovel. Did enough field time in the military, just keep your junk out of the hole.
Go back to the old format of gear tasting/questions over coffee.
