the university of Nalanda and Vikramshila were destroyed by Mughal Emperors because these universities were organised at particular places. But to destroy the university of ancient Mithila was not so easy because it was spread out in many Ashram or Gurukul of the different ancient philosophers or sages of Mithila.
Although Nalanda, and Vikramshila were all destroyed by the Mughals, Mithila was spread by ancient philosophers and Gurukulas and remained until the 20th century.

No, he destroyed ancient universities because he was a Muslim fanatic. Why did he burn the library of Nalanda University. Tantra shastra was not taught in Nalanda University.

Maam google says nalanda world heritage sire declared in - 9jan 2009, and takshashila in 1989 , please correct me if
It was put in the tentative list in 2009 and then got inscribed as world heritage site on 15 july 2016, you can refer the document available on pib online for more info
