Low and behold, 3 months later, after Draymond signed with Klutch Sports, both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant suffered potentially career ending injuries. Klay Thompson, a player who had been FOR YEARS one of the healthiest players in the NBA.🧐
Draymond is the one they need to get rid of. Warriors lose good players because of him, he is useless and a trouble maker, he CAN be replaced, but Kerr is afraid to confront him.
And Chris Paul needs to go also. He doesn't get very many points nor does Draymond.

Well Klay was out for two years, albeit not his fault and was paid handsomely....Yes, he was injured....Yes, he has been one of the main reasons for all 4 of those championships. We wouldn't have them without him...However now, if he is true to his word then he would negotiate a deal to stay with the team. If he wants to chase his last big contract, its fair and most if not all should understand that..BUT he can't also say he wasn't wanted by the organization, his teammates and the fans....He's chasing dollars for his future versus his ongoing legacy with the team.....

I think everyone wants Klay to return but the salary cap/tax situation makes it tough to match offers from teams with better cap situations, plus no longer being a guaranteed starter has definitely lessened his value to the Warriors and considering his reduced production/efficiency that's also true for the free agency market. I think Klay and the front office will ultimately work out a deal to keep him in the bay, but if he decides to leave for whatever reason I wish him all the luck in the world and will be sad to see him playing elsewhere, but the franchise is bigger than anyone (including Steph) and will always exist no matter who is or isn't on the roster. Go Dubs!
Klay would still be a great spot up shooter like Ray Allen was at the end of his career which can still be a pivotal role on the right team. Warriors need length and they really needed to move on from Draymond. If you think about it Draymond has been a big reason why the Warriors are failing the past two seasons. That and this team desperately needs some length. Steve Kerr for some reason wants to surround Curry with a bunch of short guards.

Watch the Laker series, his poor shooting (like this year vs the Kings) is what sunk the Warriors. These days getting a spot up shooter who takes up minutes and bricks often and plays very bad defense is easily replaceable especially in todays NBA. His skill set was special in 2018, a spot up shooter that played great defense. But this isnt 2018 Klay.

For Klay, my thinking is you obviously can’t pay him top dollar. What I’ve noticed is he pushes his body too hard during the regular season and he runs out of gas come post season time. He played 70+ games and was our third best scorer with horrible spacing between Wiggins and Looney to start off the year.
To maximize Klay he needs a reduced role and obviously reduced money. He should be a microwave scorer off the bench probably between 20-25 min a night (Jordan Poole role) For that I’d say $15M per, but I think they’ll throw him a couple extra M’s and years. I’d offer Klay 3yrs $60M. Lines up his contract with Draymond, and gives you more ammo to resign Steph for longer. All while saving $4.5M off the original contract they offered him at the start of this past season.
If he says no, then tell him it’s been a great run and that he’ll always be a Warrior for life.
