In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi continues to cover the assassination of Uthman Ibn 'Affan [r] by discussing the socio-political changes facing the Muslims and the various complaints lodged against the great khalifa.
A summary of topics covered are:
-The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) predicted the trials between the companions
    -Ahadith related to trials:
-"Fitan/trials will come like the waves of the ocean enveloping all of you"
-"One who sits in his house and breaks his sword is the best person"
-"Allah will test you in this world by your internal fighting so that in the next world you shall be forgiven"
-"My ummah is one that is shown mercy in the next life and all of its trials are on this life"
-"Ignorant leaders will be taken as leaders and fight against legitimate rulers"
-"Their speech will be beautiful but actions will be harmful"
-"Once the sword is unsheathed, it will never be put back in" hinting at once the civil war begins the Ummah will never be united
Hudayfa, a sahaba, said: "The start of the trials is the murder of Uthman, and the end of it is when the Dajjal comes"
-The Prophet [s] pointed toward the east and said "the trial will come out of there" refering to the Iraq area.
The various changes that were happening too quickly that led to Uthman's murder:
-The conquering of so much land so quickly, so much wealth pouring in, so there was a lot of change very rapidly
-Those not raised in Islam found it difficult to give up old lifestyles
-Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) "4 are the things of Jahaliyah (old ignorant times) my Ummah will never get rid of them, main one being tribalism...."
Also covered are all of the various complaints that the rebels lodged against Uthman [r]. While each complaint has a kernel of truth, they are massively overblown and twisted.
    Complaints:
    1) Burning of the Mushafs
    2) Exile of Abu Dharr (Fabricated)
    3) Lack of participation in Badr (Prophet [s] asked him not to)
    4) Fleeing in the battle of Uhud (Which Allah forgave)
    5) Not participating in Bayyahtul Ridwan (The Prophet [s] spoke for Uthman [r])
    6) Preventing people of Medina from using public land for pasture (It was for the State to use, not personal use)
    7) Performing 4 rakahs instead of 2 at Mina during Hajj (Uthman [r] felt he was not a traveler, thus needing to pray 4)
    8) Bringing back his uncle from exile
    And more.. (3 more mentioned)
Watch the full video to learn about these stories and much more.

As Always, Jazzaka Lahu khairan dear brother Dr. Qadhi. Your Lectures are always greatly anticipated by those who seek knowledge. May Allah swt bless the Sahabah for their example and legacy they have left for the generations to come after them. Khalifa Uthman's (RA) tragic end will be certainly difficult to listen to. Alas, Allah swt is the ultimate compensator and heaven is his abode InshAllah. There's so much information about this tragic story and getting a clear understanding of what happened is difficult. However it is a blessing from the Almighty to get the refined knowledge from Dr. Qadhi....Allah protect you always ya Sheikh!

Could someone correct me if i am wrong?? The horns of iblis will show in Najd, which is central arabia.... This is 2nd time that Sheykh Qadhi says Najd is in Iraq, whereas all the sources i have read says it is central arabia... Looks like the Sheykh is biased towards Saudi Arabia....

Masha Allah a well reseached analysis. Here are couple of points I think: Off course you can spend your personal money upon whomever you prefer, but Uthman was not a common man, he was the Caliph, an important role model for the Ummah. He had the dual position, a family man and a man of extraordinay government position. The best position for him should have been to spend his money on all citizens of his state. Second, whether the allegations were true or false, and considering so many of them, even from renowned sahaba, the best position for him should have been to resign from the office or appoint a shura of the learned shaba as a council limiting the power of the Khalifa -- a kind of magna carta for the Arabs. The problem for Uthman was that he was not very flexible or ready to adjust and change his positions even after listening to complaints. These were very difficult times for the citizens of Medina.

Who are you to criticized Uthman (R.A).

    • @aishaarshadalam3412
      @aishaarshadalam3412 Před 5 lety +8

Actually for your information, there is authentic hadith where Uthman ra responded to the money allegations. He only spent his own wealth on his family and he did it as a means to seek closeness to Allah. Which is actually an authentic hadith of the Prophet pbuh that spending money on your family is considered sadqah. Secondly, Uthman ra was a man who spent all his wealth in the cause of Allah and the Prophet pbuh. He was the one who financed expeditions for the sahaba, he was the one who spent his wealth to expand the masjid of the Prophet pbuh, he was the one who bought the well for the people and more. Neither you nor anyone else has any valid reason nor status to question where he spent his own wealth and to doubt his intentions. And thirdly maybe you don't know but the Prophet pbuh foretold these events and there is authentic hadith where the Prophet pbuh told Uthman ra that a time would come where he would be put in a situation that pressures him to step down as caliph and that he is not to do so. And Uthman ra actually called the sahaba to ask them whether he should step down and Ibn Abbas ra reminded him of this hadith of the Prophet pbuh that he should not step down. He was a Muslim who was righteous and from amongst the best of Muslims. It is wrong for you to make assumptions about him and to misunderstand his character and intentions.

I am not a fan of the thing called "Islamic history" because of its highly suspect, not too impressive, content. I believe the Companions of the noble Prophet (saws) were generally all men of noble character. That's because of what the Qur'an tells me about them, not because of the stuff that was written by historians who came much later in time, thus never saw or met any of the Companions, and who collected stories based on pure hearsay and conjecture. This sheikh's lecture series make the conjectural nature of the Islamic history even more obvious. In this video, for example, there's hardly anything impressive that has been presented about the ruling times of Uthman bin Affan (r.a). If what the sheikh has presented is a fact - and I certainly hope it is not- the sheikh has proven beyond doubt that Uthman (r,a), the noble companion, somehow, buckled under the pressure from the seemingly unrighteous, power and money hungry members of his Umayyad clan that lead to public outcry against his lackluster governance, and to his ultimate assassination.
The Qur'an says in 2:134: Those are a people who have passed away. Theirs is that which they earned, and yours is that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do". This is a beautiful advice from Allah, the Most High, that we often neglect.

@@samilsahin9804 Brother, my mission is to call people to the REAL ISLAM...the one that is found in the Book of Allah. I am convinced that all else is hearsay, lies, and fabrications and we, the Muslims, do not need any of that. The Qur'an can be perfectly understood and practised without these conjectural tales ascribed to blessed name of the Prophet (sws).
