Use them to recoup the cost of the wrenches at the very least. For home or diy use I'd say it's a tougher decision to justify the cost vs other options.
IMO it's only something time will tell. How are they going to function and work in a year for the professional? To me that's a test. I know tools wear, break, etc no matter the brand.
I’m not a fan of breaking tools on purpose because every tool will break when pushed beyond its intended limit. I would suggest maybe a comparison on rounded fasteners and how each one engages vs others that don’t. Just a thought
Ok as a mechanic that works on anything from cars to d8 dozers and tractor trailers....I've had every tool brand and still do in my box.... But I got the Icon Torque Wrenchs first....then I got the breaker bar....then I begged the chick at harbor Freight who used to have a crush on me for the Ratcheting wrenches I got them and I've used the shit out of them the last 2 days....I've currently been using Matco Wich is almost gearwrench and probably is ... I've got a set of 20* offset snap ons....and these icons tools are just as good..... I like them they feel good they are well built.....but I paid 149.99 at harbor freight not $109.99 but they are worth every single penny and they are just as good if not better in there own way....and I would rather pay cash for these then keep a tool account on the truck....these are the future of quality and I see tool trucks selling these....there are bad ass and when they let the flex head head wrenches I'm buying them to and selling the rest of my stuff to buy speciality tools I don't have...... Good job harbor freight your getting my money!!!!
I am definitely liking these Icon tools and the presentation they are putting forward. HF has proven the quality of their Pittsburgh Pro line of tools over the years so I definitely think these Icon tools already have a good reputation based on that.
You can get the gearwrench 120xp 4 ratchet set for 105 which is around 26 dollers a ratchet which is cheaper then these icon ratchets alot of companys have better deals on ratchets and wrenches at better prices then icon from what we know now just food for thought shop around you can find deals
I live in Florida. I have contacted the district manager of HF and he has yet to return my call about when the ICON wrench sets you feature on your channel will be on the shelves. I love your channel and you do A LOT to EDUCATE us DIY'ers.
In my opinion, the best test is the test of time. There may be a huge surge of purchases in the beginning but the community is small and word travels fast on if ICON's performance is worth the price.
@Redemption Garage, we're you, Justin Dow and Clientgraphics aware of another CZcams channel called " MrSubaru1387 " that is also doing reviews of these ICON tools with Harbor Freight. He is a former Snap On tool truck dealer and a professional Subaru Mechanic. You guys might want to check his channel out.
At this point, time will tell the tale. If the tools will hold up under normal use, if the ICON line sticks around, etc. A warranty is only as good as the company behind it, and while I think HF will not give you a hassle with the warranty, there has to be an ICON tool line still standing to replace a warranty item. I'll use my comfort grip Duralast breaker bar as an example. I use the hell out of it, but Duralast doesn't have that bar anymore, or anything close to it. The line changed. And not for the better either. The warranty replacement for it wouldn't be something I'd want. You said it brother, time testing is what is needed with this. I'm excited about the ICON line, can't wait to see it when they roll it out.
Good tip on the matco guts in a gearwrench ratchet. I have mostly high dollar ratchets but I love the gearwrench flex head with the notches in it. They're holding up pretty good but I'll swap out from a matco I don't use when one goes.
I forgot who posted it. But another youtuber went into a harbor freight and they said they would replace sockets, and wrenches just like other tools inside harbor freight meaning they will open and break sets to replace the one broken tool
I recently discovered tool vault tool boxes. Probably the best deals ever and they look super legit. The 84” elite side lockers and hutch for like $7k the Icons don’t seem like they have the depth
M a small channel just starting out. How do you find or get sponsorship? I’m a car channel and need these tools!!! Lol. Your killing it btw. Love the channel
I have no idea because i have never been sponsored lol. ICON and harbor freight reached out to me and they did send me some tools to check out but they said i didnt even have to make a video if i didnt want to. Good luck brother if i can I'll check your stuff out and sub to you
Bro that would be awesome!! Man I need to get to your level lol. I see you tubers getting all kinds of things free. I get by with the tools I have. I wouldn’t know what to do with a real set! Lmao. Good work man.
Thank man. I think time will tell on these ICON tools, as people start using them on a routine basis. The ICON line look like they are made pretty well. The Pittsburgh Pro line was actually not too bad, the only pain was the switch was backwards.
What is the best way to test these tools?

@@scottyhamilton2550 i agree with you and I said that same exact thing lol... thanks for your input Scotty I appreciate it

Put them in the bear's line up for testing. If the combination wrenches are Carlyle then they still don't rank as well as Tekton for quality:value

I agree I use my flex head ratchets more then any other ratchet

Thanks Antonio good to hear from you brother
If you use the tool set often then you'll know their stength and weakness. It's a matter of time and use. 👍
