Functional, beautiful, creative. I just love your attention to reducing waste and offering the 'how to' DIY alternative to those who may chose not to buy ready made. Its awesome, AVC is just awesome. Folks with factory windows struggle to finish those larger style OEM glued in windows - maybe shapes for those?
Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. We do have window frames for the larger windows, but we haven't found a shipping solution yet.
This is the absolute best wall system I've seen for any van.
Great ideas, thank you for sharing them! I love that you're concerned about health and waste as well. Definitely motivates me to look at your website. We forgot about the idea of window frames, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the concept, but you've reinspired me, thank you! I am eager to build a map / book pocket in the lower wall behind the driver seat, and potentially in the back doors too.
Sounds like an awesome project. Please share the results with us on instagram. @avcrig
Theses cubbies are SO cool! Great ideas, fellas 👌
Thanks so much!
Great ideas. Trying to figure out a cubby and possibly a fold down table behind the big wall behind the drivers seat. That PVC trick is cool for a DIY option, even if a bit toxic!
Cool! A fold-down table is a great idea for using that space.
Thank you so much for this, I have been racking my brain how to frame flares and adding cubbies/storage is an absolutely awesome idea that doesn't waste all that space.
Glad you found it useful. Don’t forget to share your final with us.
Great tips! Really appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Great stuff as always Matt! Thanks for the tips!
Happy to help!
Great idea thanks! keep up the awesome videos!
Thank you!
How deep are the pockets? Did you glue two 2” xps boards? This is such an incredibly helpful and concise series. Thank you so much for this.
Holy PVC Batman!!! I have been looking for a way to fill in the gap between the window mount (Satsang) and the panel. Using the heat gun to bend PVC. Brilliant!!!! I'm heading to Lowes. See ya!
We’d love to see what you end up with.
Thanks for this! A “sleeping sideways” (without flares) trim ring would be a wonderful offering.
Just working on boxing. It ends up being expensive to ship is the problem.
Great news that you are working on it! Whoever would order that item would likely also order ones that could help on a combined shipping cost. As for me, I am interested to pick that up personally once I wrap my head around the whole build. (From Salt Lake City.)
Another great video Matt, I’m planning on using some of the deep pockets in the van wall (whenever my van shows up) for storage so I’ll look into purchasing some of your kits in the future. I also would like to figure out some kind of storage in the two rear door pockets. Thanks !
That’s a great call! Rear doors pose a challenge. I’ll consider this for a future video
A link to your foam-cutting blade would be cool.
We link it in our Black Friday video. It was the next vid we filmed
Tips for a light backer that isn't too floppy? Thinking for pocket cutouts for E/W sleeping.
I’d go with plywood. Either underlayment (light and strong enough) or birch (probably overkill) either way 1/4” or less is fine.
Great ideas! Have you looked into having screws with heads matching the color of the tweed?
We haven't, but thats a great idea! we have been toying with the idea of Ceracoat for matching hardware to builds.
😊
Wow, so helpful! Thanks for sharing. Also, foam is waterproof I guess so if water comes in it wouldnt mold?
That’s a good point.
Do cubbies cause cold spots in the wall?
They could. It depends how much insulation you’re using and how deep your cubby is. Everything is a compromise.
