Everything should be considered individually. The part of the bible that says not to murder is great, but the part that people use to justify violence and systemic suppression against gays is bad.

Ben kind of misses the point in his own way, but he is right on a lot of things. I think what he is saying is, 'the world is comfortable with sin. We delight in it. And the world is meak and brittle, we ditest the idea that WE ARE EVIL. but we are. Otherwise, why would we delight so much in sin, but not give that delight, and commitment to God? Again its because the world rebukes God. The only salvation is through Christ and through him alone. In layman's terms: The devil wants us to rejoice in sin and he absolutely hates the idea of us loving God our Savior.
I'll put my moral rectitude as a non-believer up against that of ANY believer. I try to do right. I do not expect any eternal reward for this, nor do I fear any punishment. I do right for its own sake. Morality isn't based on a belief in some non-existent sky god which was created out of the human imagination. I recognize that others are as real as I am, and delight in or suffer from the same things I do. Period.
It's good that you try to do right with the knowledge that you have, but we can never reach the absolute standard of morality because we all sin. Everyone lies once in a while, most people look at others with lust, some people steal, many people have sex before marriage. So even if we lived a life close to perfection, we would have still sinned. And God understands that, that's why He sent His Son Jesus, who is the ONLY possible perfectly sinless person, to represent us and take the debt of the cross for us. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, so we should've not had eternal life until God gave us His greatest sacrifice to let us into His Kingdom because He knew we weren't perfect.

@olaf Gunnerson there is only heaven and hell, no other place. You go to one or the other. And I'm curious what god of any religion rewards people who live a life of sin. Negates the purpose of good vs evil and having morals. With the logic of "Well people will end up somewhere good no matter what they do," why do we care if people are murderers or pedophiles? What does it matter for people to lead good lives if they end up in the same place as someone who didn't try to do one good thing their whole human life?

Funny, I keep my sins, athiesm and my charity private, out of fear of ridicule. My religious friends flaunt their beliefs and constantly use phrases that imply an existence of a god and are always trying to convert me. Ben kind of misses the point in his own way, but he is right on a lot of things. I think what he is saying is, 'the world is comfortable with sin. We delight in it. And the world is meak and brittle, we ditest the idea that WE ARE EVIL. but we are. Otherwise, why would we delight so much in sin, but not give that delight, and commitment to God? Again its because the world rebukes God. The only salvation is through Christ and through him alone.
In layman's terms: The devil wants us to rejoice in sin and he absolutely hates the idea of us loving God our Savior.

It's good that you try to do right with the knowledge that you have, but we can never reach the absolute standard of morality because we all sin. Everyone lies once in a while, most people look at others with lust, some people steal, many people have sex before marriage. So even if we lived a life close to perfection, we would have still sinned. And God understands that, that's why He sent His Son Jesus, who is the ONLY possible perfectly sinless person, to represent us and take the debt of the cross for us. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, so we should've not had eternal life until God gave us His greatest sacrifice to let us into His Kingdom because He knew we weren't perfect.
I respect your faith in your diety but you cannot have one without the other. To you I'm a sinner but to me I'm just human. Love your videos BTW.

Christian churches have become legalistic, judgemental, hypocritical, and self righteous. The Church is pushing unbelievers away.
