Dont use serum anymore homie. For the past month i've been beating myself with senseless sound design ideas in serum. Switch to vital, watched a tutorial and instantly revived my compositions.

Timestamp for this? I swear I've watched twice and don't see where he specifically mentions this, just that the .035 seconds was chosen because it sounded cool (which it definitely does lol, I just missed the reference to the delay time coinciding with the note being played

You are a huge inspiration to my music and of my willingness to use sound design to create funky bass for my music. Dropping my newest song soon and it's the most hours I've spent on a single song yet, but I wouldn't have been able to do 90% of the sound design without your guidance. Cheers🥂

Bunting nice tutorial man. I've only had Ableton for a month, how do you get automation lanes for Vital parameters in Ableton like that? Feel dumb asking but I couldn't find any results that made it look as simple as you did.

Hey bunting, I'm having a big problem. Keep trying to remake this patch (thanks for all the help) and whenever I do, I encounter a glitch. FM seems to cause artifacts in my sound and change it slightly when I hit the play button, getting rid of lots of cool effects. I slowly disabled things and even with just level automated on LFO1 and WITHOUT fm being automated (just on in any position) causes this. I tried turning down the master and messing with oversampling but as soon as FM goes on I get inconsistency as soon as I press the play button. Any ideas? :(

There’s so many fine details in this sound it’s hard to recreate from the video, a slight variation in the FM, wavetable positions, phase position, and especially the delays can make a massive difference to the sound
