    Starter kit is a GREAT IDEA!!! I have 5 granddaughters who all want Nana to gift them their starter kits.
    I’m 63 and some of my friends want to get back into makeup without looking scary different. A year ago I helped a friend my age transition back into makeup. As a recent widow she has an extremely tight budget.
    My 34 year old daughter in law and I have been working on her neutral look just this last week. She’s moving away from just fun colours and glitter stuff for parties & date night and she wanted reliable neutrals she could do on a daily basis.
    My 36 year old daughter is the mum of 5 & hasn’t the time or budget for a big fancy kit.
    I think the silent majority need and want these kinds of videos to break into makeup or pick their skills back up after years of other priorities.

      Kamloops Cruise You are so very right!! I’m 62 and whilst I’ve always worn a little bit of makeup I find these videos so informative and valuable I learn something new from each one. I only have one granddaughter (7 grandsons) she has loved makeup from the day she learned to walk so I will definitely be buying her a starter kit (perhaps she’ll leave my makeup alone😉) It’s reassuring to know that women our age are wanting to wear makeup and learn new skills.

    For all of you who say this is still a lot of makeup:
    "Natural" makeup is still wearing makeup lol. The point of it is to make it seem like youre not wearing much and just enhance natural features without being dramatic for everyday routines.
    If you dont want to wear anything then work on skincare routines rather than makeup routines. Then you'll get to a point where you can use a light bb cream, tinted lipbalm, and maybe mascara. Or maybe no makeup at all.

      @@aireyverse I would say you're too young to wear makeup at all. You're probably hormonal rn so you might have acne. Covering acne up with makeup just makes it worse. Focus on getting your skin clear and really soft and nice looking. Get into good self care habits now that you're in your teens. Look up videos on self care. I would also suggest starting to exercise.

    • @dianagarcia6017
      @dianagarcia6017 Před 4 lety +7

      Get yourself matched at a Sephora or Ulta (they have professionals). If you're at Sephora you can ask for a sample and try to find a similar drugstore brand at Ulta (they have testers). I don't see anything wrong with using high end foundation because it sits on your face for hours at a time and your skin is absorbing it all. The MOST you'll find yourself spending is about 60 dollars for a really, really high end one you'd find only at Blooming Dale's or something. Makeup takes a little investing. Everything you can use drugstore.

      My best suggestion is experimenting with undertones and swatching shades on the jaw and blending into the neck. You can see the difference in undertones better when it's on your face without makeup on. It's easier than the jewellery or vein methods.

    A technique I learned from you and one that really made a difference in me is that you put the Loreal concealer first on your hand and then sparingly apply w sponge (instead of slathering on skin, like how others do it). Thank you Shelbey!

      @ocandro Před 5 lety

      You can also apply less straight on the skin, without wasting product on your hand. Unless you enjoy the additional hand makeup effect, wbich could be cool for pigmentation I guess.

    I love the RT Everyday Essentials set! I have brushes from their older sets that I love and always wanted to try the blush, expert face, setting brush, and sponge. They put everything I wanted in this and couldn't resist. No regrets or complaints! Fantastic quality brushes!
    I've never tried the Neutrogena powder bc ever since I bought elf tone correcting powder in Cool I have not used another pressed powder. It really does even out my skintone when I wear it alone, it doesn't look too powdery or cling to dry spots and it's a fantastic setting powder too.

    Derma E skincare and Physician’s Formula are cruelty free and great choices. - La Roche Posay is also great for skincare. Their cicaplast line doubles as a soothing moisturizer and primer.
    - Milani is another inexpensive high quality drug store choice. It is cruelty free too.
    - Cover girl has recently gone cruelty free and their anti aging concealer, primer, and foundation are excellent quality.
    - ELF is another great choice.
    - W3LL people is awesome too and available at target. Their mascara, tinted moisturizer, setting powder, blush bronzer duo, and lip colors are awesome.
    -Nyx brow powder and ELF are great.
    - For brows, you can also get the Pixi shadow and brow palette. Pixi’s lip colors are dupes for Fresh, their eyeliners are dupes for Urban Decay and they are clean and cruelty free.
    - Burt’s Bees and Boots are two great lines for skincare and makeup that is more natural.
    - Physicians Formula blush, tightliner, and 3 stick warm nudes kohl liners/ shadows are great in lighter skin
