Coal Ash Spill Risk at Michigan City, Indiana

  • 2 million tons of coal ash are at risk of spilling into Lake Michigan and Trail Creek. They are currently held back by an aging steel wall that is heavily corroded.

    I have been gone from Michigan City out west for 50 years now. My uncle worked at nights in the guard shack for some years back in the 60s . Thankyou for the video. Brings back memories.

    Back when i worked at the oitlet mall around 1988 and all our calls used to get our cars covered with the ash..

    I used to work for a company that would go in and blow up all the hardened coal and clean it out from the biild up on the walls

    NiSource (NIPSCO's parent company) is a Fortune 500 company, so it's not like they can't afford it.

    Well, Nipsco will be torn down.
