    Well…The true backstory …Before the Casting of Taylor/Burton..The Writer of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf …. Edward Albee sent the screenplay to Katharine Hepburn!!! Yes, Edward wanted Great Kate to play Foul Mouth Martha! About two weeks after Edward Albee sent the screenplay to Katharine…She sent Edward a Letter Back, Thanking Edward for Thinking of her..and at the end..Katharine wrote..”This is Better Than Me”
    Years later Edward Albee would work with Katharine Hepburn in A Matter of Balance.

    Mike Nichols 1st two films were 2 of the greatest films ever. But after that he lapsed into mediocrity; oh well.
