- In this tournament game, one team gets pickled. However, sometimes it's not about the score, but about the experience. All of these players seemed to have a fun time.

4.0? More like 3.0 😂
I would say somewhere between 3.0 and 3.5. Thanks for watching.
Harsh!
You do your bestjob when you have fun with your analysis,. These guys look like they were good 3.5 players. For all the reasons you mention, they might not be just ready for competitive at 4.0. They were in good spirits so that says a lot. With some changes, i think they will be good 4.0 with some work
Thanks for watching. Thanks for your opinion.
I consider myself under 3.0 and have a difficult time giving myself credit, but I honestly think I could play the losing team with minimal problems. I have a hard time believing they are 4.0. Also, the constant paddle hand changing is a real issue - I don't even see the lower-level players doing that...
Thanks for watching. I'm not a fan of players switching hands.
I can drive a deep return with my backhand just as easily as I can with my forehand.
When on the odd court and my opponent hits an angled shot to the sideline, as I am running to get in position, I will switch hands, if necessary, to extend my reach.
It's not a conscious decision to switch hands. If the ball is just out of reach with my backhand, switching hands extends my reach.
I get it. Try moving your feet quicker to get to the ball. Thanks for watching.
@@pickleballpick-apart9787 I look forward to playing pickleball some day with you on the other side of the net.
Nice to see the score.✅
The players who posted it put the score up there, not me, thanks for watching.
Your welcome :P
I was the winning team gray shirt and the video editor.
Hey Rory, I sent you the link in the comment section. But the problem is that CZcams thinks it's spam and it goes to your spam section and doesn't show up. If you look in your spam folder you might it.
Have a good day, thanks
I'll see if I can figure it out. Thanks. I don't think I have a spam section that it goes into.
If you have a youtube channel, what is the name of it? Thanks.
I switch hands frequently due to range-of-motion issues with my dominant hand. I just can’t do a successful backhand flick with my right. But I’ve had to learn not to switch to the left when I’m on the righthand side of the court and up at the net- it throws my partner off. Using both hands is doable but takes more thought and practice than just “I’ll hit the ball with the easiest hand”
I'm glad it works for you! Thanks for watching.
I am Ambidextrous and I don’t switch hands as often I saw on this video. I only switch hands if I see opportunity to change the pace and position of the ball confusing players where to target next. I always stay with one hand and defend kitchen with forehand and backhand
There's really only one player I've seen on CZcams who is really, really good at switching hands. I think that is because he is ambidextrous. Thanks for watching
Looks like a low-level local tournament. I wonder how the team that got pickled got to the finals with the way they played. That team not getting to the no volley line is a giveaway that they are a below 3.5 team. I know I am a "broken record" on the switching hands topic. The problem with the players who do this some of the time is that they don't have the proper paddle position to switch correctly. To do it correctly you have to have a double grip with the paddle up in front of your body. It helps to have a 6 inch grip. Then it is simple to just let go with the one hand to always hit a forehand. As a natural lefty who played many sports right handed I have developed athletic coordination in both hands. I don't lose quickness with my approach any more than a one handed player having to decide to hit a forehand or a backhand. Our bodies and joints are not designed to hit a backhand and backhands are almost always a weakness for most recreational players.
Thanks for your lengthy comment and thanks for watching.
That losing team makes me feel like I'm not so bad, despite being about twice their age. Pretty sure I could take 'em. Still, watching the various videos shows I need to be better in the NVZ dink area.
A lot of players need to be better at that part of the game. Thanks for watching.
The team that got pickled looks like 3.0 at worst and 3.5 at best. The other team looks like a strong 3.5 team but its hard to judge with such weak competition. You play to the level of comp usually unless your super competitive.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your opinion.
I think these guys are 3.5. If they clean up a couple of things (run to the nvz, lower their shots, etc) they could be 4.0 in the near future.
Good point. Thanks for watching.
The player in red definitely sucks at ping pong too.
Maybe so. Thanks for watching.
Hey Rory, can you pick apart mine?
I'd be happy to. The only way I can do it is if you have a CZcams channel and you send me a link. Thanks.
Definitely not at the 4.0 level for the team that lost.
Thanks for your opinion and thanks for watching.
I don't think being pickled means you're not a 4.0...the Johns bros got pickled last week. Sometimes, you just have an off game. However, 4.0 seems a little inflated for the losing team.
If they are a 4.0, then this definitely was an off game. Thanks for watching.
No way these are 4.0
Well. They're playing in a tournament and at the 4.0 level. Thanks for watching.
The non-winning team could not hit a drop shot! 3.0 level??
3.0 for sure. Higher than that, I'm not sure. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
please vet these player skill levels before making them public, embarrassing play by all
They were vetted. The title of their video on CZcams was 4.0 pool play. So, they are playing in a tournament at the 4.0 level.
These players are not 4.0 pickleball players, whose doing the rating of these players, way too many unforced
Errors to be 4.0, I don’t see any real speed to get the net when they get an idea to do it. The guy with the
Gray tee shirt playing with the red player is not serious or focused. I would rate these players as 3.0 and I am
Being nice. By the way Rory I responded to ur nice email to me that ur comments are rite on and I watch a lot
Of ur excellent videos. Thx for posting for us to rate.
You're more than welcome! Thanks for watching.
3.0 players. minus .5 for switching his hands so much. 2.5! haha
I'm sure they're not that low level. Thanks for watching.
I’m here to defend the losers. I was sent this clip because my son is one of the losers. Definitely not 4-0. He actually probably got drafted to this because he is a long term tennis player but I’m sure is unrated since he’s a newbie. Probably only the 5th or 6th time he has played. He does like it though. My tennis player brother has joined the pickleball cult. He and his wife are in this video. czcams.com/video/-wE56jHxoqU/video.htmlsi=5Qav_dluLmIZiU_G
PS: I suspect my attorney loser son will improve and join the cult. The critique was good. I just know that one player is actually a beginner.
That's one of the problems with some videos that are posted on CZcams of people playing pickleball. Here's a beginner claiming in the title of the video he is a 4.0 player, when he is more like 3.0. For players who are just beginning, they will watch the video and think all of the players are 4.0 players when not all are. Glad he likes it and best of luck to him.
