I've always wanted to visit Norway. Thanks for the tour!
That was awesome. I surely would not have known this had you not shared it. Enjoy yourselves and be safe.
Greetings from Finland, hope you had wonderful time in our lovely neighbor - looking forward to see all the places you visited. As a Finn, Norway is my regular destination being close by and tour around the country during summer has been tradition of mine for many years - this summer finally again after 3 years pause.
That Kvikk Lunsj chocolate is one thing I always buy home at least couple travel packs. Very popular hiking snack among the locals - it’s bit like KitKat but better with hint of salt.
So Efficient / CLEAN. Here in the States their would be trash all over the Ferry deck :( Like the observation deck lounge with the wonderful food selections too.
Sad but true
I went to Norway back in 2008 on a motorcycle. Caught a few ferries going along the coast. One of the best ones was at Geiranger. The ferry trip was amaing. Lots of waterfalls. All the ferries were well run. some of the bridges re pretty interesting as well.
I have used the car ferry transit a couple of times between Washington and British Columbia. Its like mini cruise. Great to see you having such a good time.
good video, it might seem silly to enjoy a video like this but with you walking around and explaining things it's almost like i'm really there and dare i say on vacation. i haven't been overseas since the 1970's in the service. i'm 67 now and closing in on my expiration date. i hope to get there soon :)
Funny to see things that are just normal every day life here in Norway be something "special" to someone from outside. I felt the same way twelve years ago when I moved here I guess, but now it is just normal. I used to take a ferry every day to get to and from work, drive on, wait 20 minutes, get off and be at work or home. Now they opened a tunnel, faster, but I kinda miss the ferry in some ways.
What a cool experience! I couldn't help but note that for some of the foods on offer in the cafeteria you'd have to scarf it down quickly to get back to your car in time to move on! Thanks, Chris!
Yes! This one was 30 mins. Some are much shorter so there isn't much to eat on those.
Wow, that's an impressive ferry!
All the ones I've ever been on were nowhere near that big or fancy.
I'd rack up on some Norwegian snacks on that trip!
I definitely did haha
Back in the 80s my family was on a ferry crossing the Chesapeake bay. But I don't remember nothing about it hardly except for the horn blasts before they left. I'd have to say I was probably about 5 are 6 years old. what I just witnessed here in your video is really neat thank you for sharing keep up the great work. As always stay safe healthy and God bless you, your family, friends and anyone that watches your videos.❤️✝️🇺🇲
Looks like a very well planned, streamlined and orchestrated process to keep the ferry process operating like a watch!!
Interesting!! Reminds me of the Cape May Ferry ⛴️ Beautiful scenery thanks for sharing.
Love the Suzuki in the beginning!
I have a Suzuki xl7(2005)
Omg. Now I get it. You drive on one way and then exit the other side. That’s so cool. I thought everyone would have to back up and out. That makes so much more sense. I had no idea. I was already freaking out abt everyone backing out at the same time. Lol.
Fun Fact: I’m 64. (that was not the fun fact.) when I was in high school between my freshman and sophomore year, that summer I went with the orchestra over to Denmark where our orchestra played in a competition. We spent one week sleeping on the floor in a building while during the competition and then we spent the next week with host families. Sometime in all that time, we took a ferry from Denmark over to Sweden! The ferry we rode, in 1974, looked just like what I just saw you riding, in this video!
What a blast 💥 from the past! 🎉🎉
Look the same except of course, that the cars back, then were a bit older and would be relics today!!🎉
Another winner video. Thanks Chris!
thankfully there wasn't an emergency with the life jackets locked behind glass thank you for the videos of Norway
Finland also has ferries like this, although a lot less of them due to our coastline being less jagged.
The ferry you took, holds approximately 250 cars.
BTW thr thing you øokled on at the cafeteria is Svele. Its nlt pancakes.
It mabye similar looking as American Pancakes, but tastes really different
Enjoy your trip----this is so cool...thank you!
It’s really awesome you were able to go there! I haven’t really seen your videos pop up lately, so I’ll have to see how long you were there, and how many videos there are of Norway! ❤❤❤✌🏻✌🏻
In 1970 I took a ferry from Amsterdam to Sweden.
We were a team of athletes from the Shor A.C. in New Jersey.
Then we rented a VW minivan and I drove it from there to Oslo and then Bergen, Norway.
The Fjords were magnificent.
Scandinavia is so clean and efficient.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Pretty cool Chris. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thats from Mortavika to Artsvågen in Rogaland, Norway. Nice to see you travel trough here🙂
How cool.
Interesting that the snack place had many American oriented items.
Thanks for the POV
Skies have been bleak during your visit
Thank you Chris , I enjoyed that. This is as close to my bucket list as I'll ever get.
I've done that, on a smaller ferry. This ferry is huge. It's a fun experience. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Chris! ❤
WOW so cool!!!! Wouldn’t be cool if the trip was longer and you could lay on a beach chair and take a nap out there.
Very cool, what a great video!
I think the US trucks are freaking awesome the way they are decorated ❤❤ ps nice video dude 😊
A cafe for a 15 minute crossing? How bizzare! Imagine if it were an American McDonald's and your car was parked at the front, everyone on the ferry would be so peed off at you.
Thanks Chris! 🤠👍
The ferry ride takes 25 min.
So cool, love ferry rides. Have them here on Galveston Island. Thanks Chris.
That was so cool. I had no clue thanks so much
Good video thanks.
Super cool! I think I’ve only been on two Ferry’s. One from the Marblehead area to Boston/Salem and one to Ocracoke Island in OBX of N.C. Oh, the Staton Island ferry, but no cars on that. Not that I recall anyway.
YOU should visit Japan, its so different there. The ferry's Trucks and landscape!
We have those caps in Greece and the uk, they are a bit annoying but it's a good idea ❤
Very nice video.
oh man you're here in Norway, cool!
Very interesting
Very cool and interesting video. I think this is the first I've ever seen of yours where you were out of the USA... Sure looks like some beautiful scenery over there. I've never been to that part of the world.
That was neat
Enjoy your Norwegian/Scandinavian journey, Chris. Slàinte Mhath🏴
Looks like Washington Ferris !
Great video
Sorry.....there is NOTHING that "looks like".
The Washington ferry ....which only pains to look at (for someone who deals with ships).... and is rather something belonging in the stone age.....and compare it to a top modern ferry....is rather ridiculous....
USA has never ever seen anything close of this kind of ships.... Norway is a shipping nation (unlike USA) ....and are in the front worldwide in the development of ship design and new ship tech. It can only be compared like Germany has been car tech country no 1 world wide.....while Norway is the world's ship tech country no.1.
By the way.... the ferry in the video is battery electric and have a capacity of around 250 cars.... Not so far from there are another ferry route were the ferries are running on hydrogen.
We have this in Galveston, TX to get to Galveston Island and back.
Haha ....NO....you don't have anything like "this"...anywhere in the US.... Comparing a Galveston barge....belonging in the stone age.....to a top modern car ferry running battery electric ....and with a capacity of around 250 cars ....is ridiculous....
They don't put a lot of chemicals in there good
Wow! A lot bigger than the ferries at the outer banks in NC.
That store puts the snack bar on American ferries to shame! The food really looked good.
Nice Video Chris
🏵️🍀🇮🇳🍀🏵️
Hi we have that in 🇬🇧 aswell with bottle tops it is annoying 😂
I would like to see some of the food in Norway! How it differs from what we eat in the states.
The minute i saw the ferry i thought of the movie The Ring....
I bet there's no chemicals in that food either like the U.S.
Are you just visiting or do you have family there??
You had a hot dog when you could have had a shrimp sandwich?
one question.. did you get a waffle..every gasstation and kiosk in norway will sell you waffles.. no kiddin
Everyone and everything moving in sync, If that was here you would have entitled people taking their good old time getting to the cars and holding everyone else up…..
🇺🇸🇺🇦❤🤍💙💛
