I like how volk went for a handshake and islam mistakenly didn't see it, only to realise later and simply shakes his hand, a moment like that shows you how these two are extremely professional and doesn't get out of topic, they have a goal, they're standing in each other's face, they need to win so they can keep going, other than that they have nothing but respect for each other, it speaks volumes and it demonstrates a lot of maturity. I love these guys i wish they fight s third, fourth, fifth idc how much all i know is when these two fight they make history.

In all fairness if I were Islam, I'd be pissed too if I were accused of cheating to win on the first bout and the second bout, Volk and the fanbase keep riding the 12 days notice excuse. To be honest it's unbecoming of a warrior spirit in my opinion and the Dagestanis feel exactly the same.
In the pre fight conference, Islam was only responding to facts and was quiet most of the time. Reminded me a bit of Habib/McGregor press conference.

They are fighting in the same weight category, but Volkanovski has an advantage, he has not gone through such a tough weight cut. Weight cutting takes a lot of energy. Imagine if Daniel Cormier went through a weight cut to fight at this weight, he would be on the floor exhausted.

@@markjayd8704 Depends.. there’s a lot of factors at play. If Volk can get his distance management and positioning perfect, he might not be easy to take down still. But if you’re talking about head to head strength, then yes, i would say Makhachev would be stronger compared to the first fight.
Having said that, Makhachev normally would try to use minimal effort for wrestling.. he can’t afford to use brute force all the time like Khabib (different body build & stamina). Makhachev tends to bait & flow into a more advantageous positions rather than force his opponent to stay trapped.
