What I really like is that they dont try in any way to overhype this game to expectations beyond reality - they are really clear about this game's limits, and restrictions etc. They dont promise things that arent there, like some others do.

expect this game has like 0 parkour in it and you're not exactly using a hidden blade to kill people.
I love the idea but i dislike this pidgeotto hairstyle circulating even to game industries. Vampires in my opinion should have long hair. And listen to metal take example Queen of the damned. Strictly my opinion to haters of metal.

Swap those out for bouts of vampiric brutality against man n vampires (both low-made n High-borne), an interesting plot + plot twist revolving around the "flu" n its source, n the game is golden.

Vampire games is a rare thing today. I'm really exited for this one. Looks great!. I hope that this game will take an outstanding atmosphere from Bloodlines and a strong storyline from Redemption.

I don't see the Bloodborne element in this honestly. You mean the Souls games because those were originators of the sort of combat we know today. Atmosphere is pretty different but the sort of theme is close to DS3 since it was more diverse and expansive than the other souls games and spin-offs.
What are you even saying? It strongly resembles the environments of Bloodborne, and the atmosphere is light years away from Dark Souls 3.

Hopefully people will stop riding the over done zombie train and instead jump on the folklore creature train instead I want to see more games about Were Wolves and Vampires which I don't think have ever been done before save for Skyrim or Wolf Among Us and I don't remember any "current" gen vampire games.

The only things I care about in an RPG is the atmosphere, story and writing. I couldn't care less about the combat system.
Sure they are more important but a good combat system is always a plus
you should though, if nothing else than to make sure the combat isn't so bad it ruins everything else. Wasteland 2 is an awesome game but the combat just ruined it for me bad, I can't stand that style of gameplay.
If only Fallout 4 prioritized story and writing over combat. Then it might have been good.

These guys need to implement stealth mechanic for game about intelligent bloodsucking creatures lurking under the moonlight.. but it seems that it just another shooter/slasher with overpowered superhero-like main character. Also the developers have kind of cognitive dissonance saying "our character is medic, so he has no need to be stealthy" but at the same time why medic needs firearms and special abilities to broke enemy apart with kind of 'dark spears' as a vampire if his main goal is to feed.. how destroying body of victim helps in sucking blood?.. especially if he is a f*** medic.
What's the point in playing an over powered character in a game, there is no real fear of losing and more than likely you will just be button mashing or doing the same combos to defeat enemies over and over.

Yeah but prototype had meaningful enemies such as the hunters that could defeat you easily if you play incorrectly, this game is only in alpha so we don't know if they will have such enemies but so far it looks like the only way you would die in this game is if you stand still and let the enemies kill you.

Psyched for this. Also Remember Me is one of the most underrated games of last gen. Seriously amazing game.

The concept is really cool, the environment looks amazing and some of the actions look awesome but my one critique right now is the combat, looks a bit iffy right now, nothing that cant be fixed though. Looks very cool, I'm going to keep this on watch and hopefully get.

I was just talking to my friend about how great games are now, but the ones back in the day for ps2 and xbox were the best games ever made. now it's just such a dumb business where they rush everything they can out because technology helps things move along faster

Very good question, the PC original i hope, coz the newer 1 was atrocious and made me instantly wanna smash the disk in disgust
i hope it wont turn out like thief 4, that game is horrible, the stealth mechanics are broken and the story are just meh, only thing thats worth playing is the dark atmosphere/environment.
this game looks ok so far only thing i hope is a solid story to support it

there has been a few in the past, this might be a huge disappointment though.
So far the only vampire games that have stood out to be good and interesting and have deep lore were the Legacy of Kain games and Vampire The Masquerade games.
I would give up a kidney for another trip to Nosgoth as Kain and/or Raziel. Still one of my favourite franchises. Really enjoyed the Masquerade games, especially the dodgily made Redemptions :)
God I hope for a good werewolf game. The closest thing we have to one is Skyrim and that is hardly centered around them.

Because the animation is stiff. Because the combat is dull. Because the enemy AI is worthless. It looks like a cool concept that wasn't executed very well, and definitely does look pre-alpha.

I hope they implement an option of brawl AND melee combat. It'd be pretty badass to be able to instantly grow claws and start slashing away, course they'd have to make it less effective than melee but it's purely for fan service
The top right corner of the screen says "pre alpha demo" so hopefully the combat will be improved upon but that really seems like the only issue and also there needs to be a vampire game and zombie game that's open world like GTA5 and Spiderman
This will most likely not be one of the best games of all time but I like the atmosphere already. I mean the oldschool, kind of romantic mentality is clearly visible and even if the gameplay or the story will disappoint exploring and roleplaying will make the game worth playing to me. Still, I would love to see Vampire RPG Like VtM: Bloodlines. Even completely remasteed edition would be nice. Sequel or prequel would be just perfect ofc. I wonder why no one among game developers seems to realize this is an easy way to make lots of money.
I'd be nice if this game is less buggy than VtM: Bloodlines. I mean, I love that game... but bugs everywhere. I have to say I'm really looking forward to this game though. Hyped. I also liked Remember Me from them, and I'm probably the only one who did like that game.
I'm replaying VtM:B right now and thank gods for the console :D I'm getting stuck all the time and all I need to do is type 'noclip' instead of reloading. But you're right the game is extremely buggy and the phisics makes every jump a challenge, not to mention every skirt in the game may just get 'pinned' above hips all of the sudden by itself (it happens in Fallout 4 too, so I guess skirt's are just very demending for programmers) showing panties to everyone...but I guess many wouldnt call that a bug.

Well... yeah. The point was that it was an incredibly buggy game at launch. Which just goes to say how much it was loved because I've never heard of someone out there that hated it.
I've just had the most ridiculous and a bit annoying bug ever in this game. Entire Santa Monica has been restarted and everything looks like when you leave your 'cozy' place for the first time. Even Mercurio speaks to me lying on the coach in a pool of blood. But the worst thing happend when I met the murderer, after this entire throwing cars at me and burning attempt he was like 'Hello, how can I help you?' lol. Just like when you meet him in 'Dinner' for the first time. When this conversation ends, the vision fades and I can't go back to finish the quest. I still love the game. So yeah, that's the point ;)
i whish a god like vampire, whit prototype 2 gameplay and blood perks , i want a super fast vampire ,super deadly, and whit bloodlust all the way

They should have made a sequel to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines :/ THAT is the one and only true Vampire RPG.
I wanted to play that but the game was just not available or popular and I was told it had huge bugs and glitches to the point that it was almost unplayable.

Most of the issues have been resolved by fan patches.
Oh, and it was and still is regarded as one of the best Action RPGs ever made. At least among the vampire loving community. The issue with non mainstream genres is, well, that they are not mainstream, rare and thus generally don't recieve much attention. I guess when it comes to RPGs people like shiny-hero-saves-the-world settings more. That is the reason why games like VtM:B, Planescape Torment or BG stand out. They possess an intriguing story that is different from the over the top epicness of more recent titles.
The game is cheap on Steam. With the fanmade patches it's pretty damn playable and just about any PC these days should run the game well enough.
animations and interactions looks a little rough but got my interest for sure. If they polish it up this could be a great game!

I think IGN regret hiring him, such a crap interviewer with poor humor. His presence ruined most of my previously liked ign shows/podcasts. IGN UK/AU is the only thing that keeps me interested.
What's with the Max Scoville hate? I liked him back on Destructoid, haven't really kept up to date with him on IGN, is it his humor? He and Tara had really good chemistry back in the Destructoid Show segments.

If it's anything like Life is Strange than I have no interest. Didn't care for Life is Strange, Until Dawn, or any of those story only not much gameplay type games. What is that new game on PS4? Being Human, or something like that, it looks too much like a story only no game play like game, and I own a PS4 (among most other systems) and I have no interest in it.

Yes that's true but see the thing is with the game industry they tent to follow the trends, so if this game does well then maybe other vampire games will be made in it's stead.

Indranil Roy Chowdhury what is it's genre? Is it an Indie type RPG (those tend to be short) or full blown like ff15, persona 5, tales of,...etc
C_Cole 96 Yeah, that's true. It isn't like witcher/skyrim. It would be foolish to expect 100+ hours on this one. But it should be longer than a linear action game.

the order was like 3 hours of actual gameplay
+Noel Cannon hmm but the graphic, dialogue, voice acting, story were all so rich. this just seems like a less inspired attempt. With all the technology that is out there for graphics alone, to come to market with such blocky animation is really going to affect "first impressions". Then there was the fighting. the A.I seemed really unintelligent, and delayed. i could picture walking circles around a single enemy without any use of my increased speed, and see that they would still be unable to harm me. The combat system needs works seems incredibly repetitive. most games like HONOR and THE ORDER have a great if not fantastic combat system. extremely fluid. this feels like early Playstation one attempts at making a video game. It would have been the bell of the ball 15 years ago. but compared to.the games today, it seems to not have bothered with anything that is available today.
The story in the order was garbage. Don't even pretend that it was rich or filled with detail. As a lover of Arthurian legend, the Victorian setting and folklore monsters I can say that the order mishandled it's own premise.
@darkfur3...Well that is your opinion. I hope this story works out better for you then. I will stick with my own. So unless i see something inspirational in the coming months, I 'personally' will pass on this title for now.
You're comparing a short, cinematic, extremely linear action game to a deep, choice & consequence and dialog heavy RPG.
they need to add a sexy black hair girl in corset and ill insta buy this. looks good already, but wish they worked in diferent skins for the protagonist...

The semi-open world and the "darkness" to it reminds me of the first 'The Darkness' game, but then in 3rd person.

Looks very good and promising. It's good to see a vampire game nowadays, since it's very rare.
