The irony is completely lost on Kane isn’t it? We have this timeline where he was extremely harsh on JHF’s discipline last year and as soon as he goes to Port he acts like no one can criticise him and anyone that has criticised him in the past should be ashamed. What’s really confusing amongst all this is that he stands by his harsh criticism of Ginnivan last while giving JHF a free pass saying that the media should let kids grow and leave them alone? I actually don’t mind Kane’s calls a lot of the time but this one is so far off the mark

i heard what kingy said , he wasn't talking about what hinkley said , he was basically pointing the finger at Kane for starting issues with nmfc with his tweets, to take that statement from kingy and turn it around something about Hinkley and port is epic level of spin . but i guess you have to expect that from shock jock who is pretending to be jurno . Boy o boy I can’t stand Cornes. He really has it in for North….JHF had a two year contract at North and he decided that he wanted to go home. When JHF was at North he wasn’t a fan of JHF and now that he’s at Port he is suddenly going to be a superstar. Cornes needs to not so one sided if he is to be in the media..

Footy fans boo behaviour that they are (rightly or wrongly) offended by. Horne-Francis was a #1 pick, and most footy fans believe the #1 should stay at the club that he was selected by in the draft.
He chose to leave, for whatever reason, and that is why he is being booed. He (and Port Adelaide) has offended, not just the Kanga's, but all footy fans, which is why other clubs supporters are participating in the booing. I am not a boo-er, and will not join in, but I do feel its a very big deal for a #1 to leave his first club. Nathan Buckley left the Bears and was heavily criticised and disliked by other club supporters for most of his career, Scully was a controversial deal, Tom Boyd (althought that move was not as controversial) he was envied by his new Bulldog teamates.
On the other hand, Jack Watts (who stayed) was ruined by Melbourne, basically by over expectation and incompetence by the club. I think JHF (or his management) would claim the Kanga's would be repeating the Jack Watts debacle. Nick Riewolt stayed with the Saints, through thick and thin, and is highly regarded for his loyalty, unfortunately JHF will forever been seen to be at the otherer end of the scale.
You only have to look at the pressure and lack of support he had at NM during his first year there. It would have been isolating for him not having the support as a 18 year old kid that he should've had. Like Kane said, he made a brave decision to move, knowing he'd get hate for it, but he's playing better footy, at a better club, and actually has the support that he deserves as a 19 year old player.

I'm a Port Adelaide fan and i understand if North Melbourne fan boo him that okay in my eye just don't know why everyone else is booing a 19 year old kid. And North Melbourne end up with Harry Sheezel he going to be a best player in AFL in the next couple of years

Kane Cowherd once again misses the point. No one outside North would care about this except Kane kept making it a story every week. He’s so think skinned that when Sonja have him a tiny jab back he freaked out for a week. King rightfully said, everyone should be happy. Port got a happy JHF and North traded a guy that didn’t want to there plus got the Sheez, Wardlaw, and Port’s #1 next year. Don’t know why Kane can’t see that.

If JHF wants to be a champion of the AFL, he needs to play the cards that he is dealt. It’s sucks that he is being booed at his matches but if he wants to be the best, he should use that negative feedback as motivation to improve further. I think nobody doubts he's raw talent but he is very inconsistent. That's both when he was at north melbourne and in the 5 rounds of 2023 at Port Adelaide
I hope jhf succeeds, but his lack of mental toughness so far is an indication of where he could head. It's extremely difficult to be a professional athlete these days and you need very thick skin, especially when you are a number 1 pick. I don't think anything David King has said is wrong, he is just pointing out observations, it was barely even opinion based.

jhf did himself no favours last year. Nth would be no picnic to play at right now but that said he did act unprofessionally during his time there. As a high first round pick you should be doing everything to show you desire to improve and learn and nothing more. if he did that then claimed home sickness no one would be talking about it. however as a result of his attitude last year he will carry this baggage rightly or wrongly for his career

Remind me again, dont ice baths constrict the blood vessels and reduce blood flow? Seems the 18yo knows more than norths medical experts.
JHF is as much to blame as North. North probably didn't handle him well and JHF's attitude wasn't what is should have been.
JHF didn't want to be there, I doubt North could have done much.

Played in pain all last year due to compressed arteries and decreased blood flow in his legs. Despite him telling north that it makes his pain worse they dropped him for not having an ice bath which compresses the arteries and restrict blood flow.
Hinkley speaks for the club so members are wanting answers too.

I would be critical of his first 3 quarters but the last made up for it.
Great players find a way, look at Oliver on the weekend, 9 touches at half time and finishes with a game high 37.
Very rarely do players put together a complete star like 4 quarters. If JHF can play just 2 qrts like his 4th or 3rd vs Brissy rd1 in a single match. His game with go to an elite level.

Anyone want to get a petition going for him not be on the media. Am a north fan and kingy's comments didn't make much sense but its because Kane had a crack at the north Melbourne supporters on Sunday when Ken didnt say anything about us - just the media - and even more stupid was we werent the ones even booing, its just been the other Melbourne teams because they also dislike what he did last year.
The t thomas comparison to JHF is also ridiculous because they are completely different, JHF disrespected the club by not doing has job - he is paid to listen to the club to have an icebath - and thomas disrespected women and himself, which is obviously worse but not comparable.

JHF robbed the NMFC of a real number one draft pick and Kane can spin it all he likes the crowd boo him because of how he behaved as I believe he made the draft process a complete joke. Have a crack at him all you like he's supposed to be professional if he can't take it don't play its that simple. Secondly Kane needs to stop blaming the NMFC for how they handled him it was pretty obvious from his behaviour on the field that his heart wasn't in it for North he just wanted the bonus $$$$$$ and ran. Remember clubs don't drop people back to the 2nds if they're happy with how they are going. Those that think otherwise wait until you get pick one and they turn out a questionable dud. I think you would expect them to be able to chase down opponents with the ball, we all learned how to do that when we were 7 not 19.

I can tell you from being involved and playing footy that all clubs protect their young players from opposition abuse. Its just a fact of Australian football.
