Every few years on CZcams or Spotify I come across an artist that captures my imagination and heart. That enchants and becomes almost an obsession, where I find myself wanting to learn more about them, their life, their training and of course listen to and watch all of their performances. As of yesterday I came across Polina as she will be accompanying Maxim Vengerov at the Sydney Opera house in August so I decided to search her on CZcams. I was instantly captivated. I am 45 years old, a piano teacher who has been playing the piano for over 35 years and is familiar with and has heard all of the world renowned pianists past and present. This performance ("magic") is by far the most profound playing I have ever heard. Ever. It was as if a Goddess descended from the heavens upon earth and time stood still for 25 minutes in that hall. Her golden tone, sense of phrasing, fire, elegance, communication of thought and emotion are phenomenal. I did not think it was possible to reach such heights as a musician. Why did she become overwhelmed with emotion throughout? What memories may have this music triggered? I am fascinated. Words really fail to express what I am feeling. She is perhaps the greatest and most sensitive pianist I have ever heard. Thank you Polina Osetinskaya for making us feel deeply human and for transporting us to other realms through your exquisite mastery of music and the piano. The world is a better place because of your gift that you share with us. Never stop. I will be thinking about this performance for days. ❤

Ces Variations ont eu bien du mal à trouver dans les programmes la place qui leur revient : RACHMANINOFF lui-même en a fait l'amère expérience ! Le temps a fait son oeuvre, qui parfois rend justice aux pépites de l'art injustement oubliées, quand elles n'ont pas été condamnées par d'obscurs critiques... Quelle merveille que cette interprétation tendre et vigoureuse, poétique et charnue, sous les doigts magnifiques d'une si belle et talentueuse "medium"... Chant du cygne pianistique , retour sur un passé encore proche mais empreint de nostalgie, la coda , dans son dénuement altier, avec très peu de notes, nous livre un sublime message qui relève du miracle et nous plonge au coeur même du monde secret du compositeur; Heureux les mélomanes qui ont le privilège de tels moments de grâce...

What a pleasant change to see a gorgeous woman playing the piano in a severe evening dress. Some young ladies might like to take a note. But I guess it all comes down to what you have to offer musically. Polina evidently doesn't need to add extra-musical attractions to her performance.

I have always fell in Love with the Russian culture and the great masters of the century. Classical music need a vast amount of dimensional perception going deep in the remote place of the soul. Polina conveys it as her performance is an ongoing process of redefining the role of music in the society .

Polina is magnificent. Piano sounds funny and does not measure up to her standards, no doubt. Maybe that's the cause of her grimace in the beginning! She rises above it and was fantastic.
Not a bad way to spend social isolation, watching an elegant and beautiful lady playing classical music in a lovely period setting. Unusual acoustic and great set-up and photography add to this minimalist presentation.
What an amazing and underrated pianist! Her videos must have lot more views, as lisitsa, scheps, wang or buniatishvili. By the way, the audio and video could be better.

je préfère ses interprétations de Bach,mais elle arrive à me faire écouter Rachmaninov,c'est un exploit!
@@madyesse7848Et pourtant la prise de son n'est pas à la hauteur... Tout à fait d'accord pour Bach, BWV 1052 évidemment. Mais j'ai découvert beaucoup de musiciens grâce à Polina: Pelecis, Schnitke et aussi plusieurs compositeurs russes.

Con Polina, il pianoforte si trasforma in una cattedrale dove l'organo scala i cieli del divino frantumandi le stelle. Il mistero delle note folli è svelato e l'arcano si rintuzza in una solitaria barchetta e scompare tra i flutti. La musica ha toccato le cime del cosmo e Polina in un trono di stelle madri saluta con i lascrimati sorrisi
