With the bullshit we saw last year O line was a priority, I’m not sure if you guys saw any of the games last year but the starters on the o line aren’t DURABLE.
I get a better vibe off Olu than I ever did Mekhi. Seems like a good dude, hard worker, humble, studies the game. I was team weapon but this is still an exciting pick longterm. Fingers crossed Joe D has finally fixed this damned Oline.
Yes Olu played in a much better conference, is in much better shape, and even though I dont know Becton's stats i wouldnt think that he allowed 0 sacks in his entire college career like Olu.
Olu can spot in for a series or 2 to give Moses or Smith a quick break. Pull one out in a blowout game. There are other ways to use him as well. Main thing, keep Aaron clean
Becton was banking on him fully developing into a starter. He had a good start but I think his confidence or his ankle was just not the same after that.
Smart pick was not interested in Bowers obviously when Odunze was gone they wanted to move down but now let’s see how much talent JD has in a WR in round 3 or 4
Agree. Hoping they can package some of these picks to move back in to the 2nd round to grab a solid WR. Then the best safety available in the 3rd. That would be an absolutely ideal draft for me.
Which could be why the teams that picked the 3 WR's didnt pick Olu. What are the chances that each of those wideouts become productive NFL players? 75? 80? What are the chances that Olu becomes productive? 50/50? Its called drafting for value. JD could've traded back to 15-20 and picked Olu or someone else. I know the trade needs to be there for that to happen but it was clear the Rams wanted to trade up. JD overplayed his hand. As usual.
Been harping on this all pre-draft. Take the unsexy O-line pick. This is a no-brainer after what I've seen the past two seasons. Jets QBs are always running for their lives.
5:00 The Pearsall pick must've broke GreenBean's heart. I think GB was convinced Pearsall would slide to the third round. Pearsall was sliding to the third round in all the mock draft simulators.

When he comes into the game and plays within the first 5 games you'll understand why Joe did it, he killed ittttttt because now for real they can do whatever they want with the rest of the picks 😂 Joe going shopping

I’m so relieved.. I knew we weitaking Bowers!! It was obvious.. we didn’t even want Odunze.. otherwise we could have traded up 2 spots and got him.. it’s all good… we’re solid on the O-line… 👍
Smart and simple pick due to the 1 year deals at RT and LT; as well as durability. I heard they tried to trade up with the Giants for Odunze but they Giants weren't interested in moving back to pick 10 because they wanted a WR playmaker. Joe D. wanted Odunze but didn't want to get into explaining why because it didn't make since too do so. He wanted to focus on Olu questions. Respectfully, we have more rounds to pick and undrafted free agents as well; maybe trades up.
Weapons can be picked up at any point a solid tackle cannot i like this pick. Our oline will be injured at some point throughout the season so depth was needed!
Thank goodness Ryan so glad they didn't take Bowers, this is exactly what they needed. Any of them top Tackles I would of been happy with. Great job Joe D 😉
I'm glad we chose to draft an offensive lineman instead of a receiver. Aaron Rodgers discussed his great connection with rookie tight end Zack Kuntz during his appearance on the Pat McAfee show. Kuntz, at a height of 6.8, proved to be an exceptional athlete who posed difficulties for the secondary during practice at the end of last year. Rodgers expressed great optimism for Kuntz, which has me feeling very positive about the upcoming season.
@@albertjimenez7896 I didn’t want that tight end NOT because of what AR said about Kuntz, but for the fact he has never utilized a tight end in his career. What they needed to do and failed to do is trade up for one the top WR’s

The immediate impact of Olu is the instant depth at a position that's been bereft of availability. When Smith goes down, there's going to be a viable replacement. AVT won't be playing musical chairs.
