Luis is a short term solution at CB until Saliba comes in next season and when Holding comes back to full health and he and Sokratis is a tough, no nonse defensive pairing that will make a few mistakes but they will make tough tackles to break up build up by the opponents and get the ball to playmakers like Ceballos and Ozil... Happy about this window for the first time in a long time... Just need a quality CB for this window to be excellent .. Finally Arsenal fill most of the positions that needed to be filled.
Ok luiz is a good signing i used to watch league 1 when he was at paris when emery coached him he is not a perfect defender but he is an upgrade on current dfenders in the team hee is spacialy very in dm position very good . emery can handle this guy in a good way

David Luiz should either play as a sweeper in a back 3 or as a Defensive midfielder to replace Xhaka. I don't think he suits being CB in a back 4(especially with the high line our defence plays)

Having 2 other CB on the right and left of him allows only him to get forward...instead of both centre backs getting forward as Arsenal defenders tend to do.

Not pessimistic but the history have showed us. Arsenal have bought some dud players or soon to be dud players from Chelsea.
