    If you're a fan who likes the stories and art but just enjoy comics without an eye to collecting, do whatever you want because it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, these days many "collectors" are looking for a fast flip and buy on spec to make money. So ultimately, do what YOU want.

    • @TheNERDWay1

      I do not want to flip my comics, I do spend quite a bit for back issues. If you’re the same do you want to protect what you spent your hard earned money on or throw it in a drawer and let it get ruined. Yes, do what you want.

      Yes, comics should be enjoyed. All my comics are alphabetized in short boxes. None of them in bags or boards. They are ready to READ whenever I want to. They are for me. The artwork and story do not evaporate or get damaged.
      One thing I really love about comics is rereading them, so I like them accessible.
      If I bought old comics at premium prices, I'd probably keep them in the bag and board they came in, and never read them.
      But almost all my comics were bought at cover price.
      I'll buy some back issues, most of them at $2 to $4, so the same or less than a new comic.
      Hmmm, I have a few comics I didn't like. I bagged and boarded them in case they become valuable and I can resell them. Since I don't plan on rereading those, accessibility isn't an issue.

Needless to say those books looked great in the photos but by the time they got to my mailbox (2 weeks later, mind you), even after careful cleaning, humidification & pressing neither book will ever get a grade above 6.5, maybe 7.0 if I'm lucky & CGC goes easy on them.

    I'd have to get 30,000 backing boards, and another 80 boxers, and a bigger fuckling house

    uhh you shouldnt stack your comics like that either. They should be faced each the opposite way to avoid creases. That stack gonna be ruined either way.

      They’re called bags and boards. Your local comic shop should have them. If not Amazon or BCW. That’s the brand I use.

    I know, it's already been a year since you uploaded this short, but may I ask you something?
    Are the comics in A4 format?

    • @TheNERDWay1
      @TheNERDWay1  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I’m pretty sure most modern comics are in the A4 format. Silver age comics are a bit bigger and Marvel even printed some in magazine size back in the day.

    I prefer to read them while on the toilet, then throw them into a basket on the restroom floor with my wifes magazines. Just collecting mold after every hot shower.
