- There's finally some news about my McLaren Senna! Join me to visit the car for the first time since the incident to discover how the repair is coming along. We can check out some of the damaged panels and new parts, as well as find out how long until it is back on the road!
A few months ago, unfortunately the right side of my McLaren Senna was caught by a truck moving lanes on the M25 which lead to cosmetic damage to parts including the door, quarter-panel and wing. These kind of body parts are not kept in stock due to their value so it's been a lengthy process to have them manufactured but fortunately all arrived just in time for my first visit after the USA tour!
Setting off from London for a 250 mile round trip meant a great excuse to stretch the legs of the Vantage GT8, to be re-united with the Senna for the first time since the day of the incident itself. The car is displayed in the investigation room where all damaged panels are removed and some of which we can actually see, as well as all the new parts in the carbon fibre glory. The fortunate news is that the damage does not extend beneath the surface other than one small radiator; there is no damage to the power train or mechanical elements which would have been much more complicated.
What has to be happen next is a trial fitment of the pieces, then all will be painted using paint supplied directly by MSO for a perfect match. The standards are all done to match original factory quality and as such when things are finished they will be totally back to brand new. You won't be surprised that it's of high importance to me that the car will result in as new condition, and fortunately I'm very confident it will match that or better!
Thanks goes to those that made it possible for me to share with you how it's all happening from here, I certainly appreciated being able to see the car myself and understand what is next.
Thanks for watching, Tim

We've finally got some good news about the progress with the repairs to my McLaren Senna! Taking the GT8 out of London to go and visit it, we can see the damaged parts and the new ones that have now arrived while getting an idea of when it's going to be back on the road. I'm super excited for it to be back on the roads!
Shmee150 please do a series where you hunt down unique and one off cars
Also eagerly waiting for the project car updates.. also waiting for the brakes update of the project car
Yo
Shmee150 dont forget to sue for loss of value due to the accident
Can you pull out the 675 more?
Insurance company : How can i...
Shmee: HI IM SHMEEEEE!
Okay I have to admit... I LOLd to this in real life! 😂
Not gonna lie I died when I saw this🤣
Like #299...
Just to give you guys an idea of price, the front splitter is $10,000 lol
Oof!
Screen is 18,000
ASDA pushing own brand prices up a few pennies i expect to pay for this lol
Mclaren parts are so expensive, a towing company fucked up my friends 675lt’s bumper and it cost over $70,000 to fix
@@kylekeogh2731 just to let you know, we're all paying for it in the end. Insurance companies are bs
Thank you for an update tim. It hurts seeing the Senna in that way. Glad you’re safe, life is precious 🙏🏻
Good to see the Senna back on the channel. Hope to see it back on the roads soon
It was so good to go and see it again, been far too long
I was at my local mclaren dealership today to check out the McLarens. Every time I come there it is awesome to see
Really cool that you were able to show this! Thanks for that! Many owners wouldn’t want to show something like this but I think this is really interesting. Gives a better look at what goes on underneath the car’s body.
Tim your videos really are very well done, I think you are a genuine car enthusiast it's why you are able to do such detailed and informative films, great job, thanks for sharing. cheers.
Imagine being the truck driver
Truck driver: Um I had an accident
Insurance: Okay what did you hit this time?
Truck driver: A McLaren Senna
Insurance: YOU WHAT!!?
Andrew Stevens insurance company: let us call your boss. You are fired!
"......this time" lol
Lmao
Truck driver: A McLaren Senna
Insurance: 🈲️㊗️🈹️㊙️🈹️🈹️㊙️🈲️
I truck and that made me sick.
Early!!! Come to Texas when you return! Love thé Vantage most out of your cars. Cheers.
I'm coming to Texas in a few weeks time!
Shmee150 will you be coming to Dallas Texas as well ? @shmee150 👀
Dallas and Houston I think!
Shmee150 hell yeah haha
Shmee150 please come to San Antonio
Oh my days! just watched this and realised I walked past your GT8 at the services on a50 just as you started it up. And in person it sounds immense!!!! And yes I could hear it sing from the forecourt as you rejoined the motorway 😎👌🏼 uttter badass!
Seeing all of this damage to your Senna truly put a pain in my stomach. You are so calm while talking about all of this, says a lot about your character. Hopefully you can get it on the road soon!
It's so sad to see the Senna in that state! Hope it comes back soon, mate.
Not first but early🤷🏻♂️. What up Tim✌
Much love all the way from Puerto Rico.🇵🇷🇵🇷
💪🏾
Dino why do you care if you are "first" or not? I'll never understand this phenomenon of kids commenting "First!!" You do realize every single vid there are hundreds of "first" comments, commenting even before you watch the vid. Wouldn't you rather watch the vid and then leave a more detailed comment?
@@bradcarpenter1881 kid🤣🤦♂️
I was just earlie and decided to post that. Any problem?
Btw, you can't be a kid when you own 3 cars (2 of them sport/super) and a house🤷🏻♂️
Let it go, mind your own businesses. You gonna be a better person doing that😘
Btw, did I just say that I was "first"? Can you even read?
Puñeta! Bayamon en la casa 😂 dont be a hater Mr.Brad.

Positive personified. Love your channel, enthusiasm and format are perfect.👍
Man it's so nice to see your Senna again! Congrats Shmee!
Cant wait for some Senna content. I mean it's a hyper car and i know u will make some hyper quality videos with it as soon as it comes back.
Good luck mate.
Even Senna is getting repaired while TVR Griffith not even started to built in factory
Hmm it's true
COOL GUY Who would have thought 🤣🤣
2020 right?
The tvr factory is still being built!
Those average limits are dangerous.. trucks up your back.. it's a big money maker....
good to hear it's all gonna be alright, looking foward to your future Senna vids shmee!
You’re so much chiller after your US tour i love it
I dont understand why anyone would want to live in London if you dont have to for work or something.
Some people were born there, so thats all they know.
@@MiniOne82 I get that but its so congested, same with any really big city. I would rather stay in the country. What you get for your money in London is not worth it.
Jesus man, I just got back to LA from a stay in London for a week and I can't agree more. Has some nice buildings but man it was not nice. I liked it more a few years ago but it really seems to be on a massive downturn right now in almost every single way.
It's an incredible city; so much to see and do and an amazing place to be. I have traveled far and wide, and lived in many different countries and cities but I always come back to London because there's nowhere else quite like it.
I'm from guildford, less than 30 miles from London and only ever been there 3 or 4 times. And I agree, the congestion and expense would drive me cracked.
Although unfortunate, seeing the Senna stripped like this really makes you appreciate how much is going on under the panels. What an epic car.
dude you are amazing it takes a lot of courage to see your baby in dismantled form, i just experienced it too!! loads of love and courage to you.
hats off!!!
Wohoo! Great video Shmee! I love you videos, big fan!
are you keeping the damaged door??? Because, you known always cool to have a piece of your car through the time...
Hang that on the wall. That'd be cool
Scrap isn't worth a lot I believe, so I hope he can keep it.
iaintdonknow isn't it carbon fibre tho, the front splitter is around 10k
@@bigtrac1601 making the carbon is a lot. But once it is damaged you can't do a whole lot with it. Steel you can repair, carbon I don't think so.
carbon is absolutely repairable (look up carbon bicycle repair). However the cost to repair may have been more than the cost to replace, or McLaren has no means of repairing since they're a manufacturing and technology company, not a repair comoqny.
Nice daytona Tim. My old man used to have one. Lovely watch 👍🏻
Daytona is nice but the submariner is more for daily use, like he does
And fitting for his channel
Been a sub for years and love that you're not a lane hogger 👌 even in an Aston. Love your videos, keep up the good work and lets get that Senna back on the road!
Great to hear that the progress on the way...it was sad to see what happened.
Seemed so depressing to see your pride and joy stripped like that.........will be glad to se her all fixed up and on the road again......very soon. Thanks for sharing :-)
When I watch his videos, I sometimes think to myself “why the hell am I watching a millionaire with a weird smile talking about his cars”
Funny I was thinking exactly the same thing I also was thinking what would happen if this guy got a flat tire in one of his million dollar cars in one of our lovely neighborhoods here in good old Chicago lol he would be in a dress made up making money for one of the brothers wile they drive his car around collecting the money he had to make for that day lol
I quite often think the same.... Show off and fans... In St Tropez on summers rich people are parading on their Yachts while the Poor's are on the dock taking pictures....
Patrick Smith ok. Maybe go to school? I wouldn’t wanna be stuck in such a neighborhood
Great to hear the senna back to channel
Hi Tim, most importantly you’re ok. Great to hear your usual happy ‘Cheers’ , unlike your saddest one ever after your accident video. Thanks again for keeping us up to date. Regards, Bob M. South Wales
Insurance company: Sorry, did you say a Senna? Okey, my boss will give you a call in an hour.
*5 hours later with no returned call*
Insurance company: *The number you have dialed is not in use*
lol
Definitely shmee you need to pick up the Senna with a trailer being driven by the G class
Glad to see the senna back! But it’s just so cool seeing what is under the body!
Nice to see you happy again!!!
If you don’t want the damage panels, I can keep it for you ;)
Most likely Insurance (since they own the damaged panels now) will sell them to salvage to recoup some costs.
@@whaterfoo While they do that ASDA is self insured and might not bother.
@@southjerseysound7340 they may be self insured but will have professionals handling the claim to reduce costs wherever. You may be right but I'd pay to have a senna panel hanging on my bars wall....maybe a mural behind it.....
When the truck driver hit the senna I bet their heart stopped
In some ways Tim I am glad that truck hit you just for this video , to see and learn so much about the car is a joy , hope you know what I mean :-) . And zero structure damage so just as good as new when back together
Great video Shmee, was hard to look at the Senna but really glad she can be repaired and of course That Aston highlighted the video for me.
Shmee: *Radiator slightly bowing so I will replace it*
Me: *gets rear ended and doesn’t replace my bumper*
I haven't heared about the GTR Roadster in a while. Is it still coming??
osman tosun yes it is look at his ig
@@finnj5406 I know its written there but didnt hear any news from it
Wow Tim was that damage was so intense. I was wondering if McLaren was going to do the repair themselves but thanks for showing us. Topaz really helped protect the car!!!
Great that it’s coming along. Very beautiful car!
There is more wrong with the UK than average speed checks ^_^
Man I couldn’t even imagine crashing my little Jetta, a Senna has to be heart breaking
Awesome video! Love seeing this kinda stuff coming together. That guy that hit you must be getting a huge increase from his insurance company for this one!
Great vid like always Shmee, love seeing your excitement while driving haha. Also I hope you'll be stopping by near DC when you come back to America
Take the old damaged wheel and make it into a cool coffee table
I hope you're going to keep the old parts. That's about $100,000 you paid for.
Great content Tim, Looking forward to seeing the Senna finished. My new car was involved in a non fault accident after owning it for less than 3 months and it is heartbreaking!
Ayy im so glad the parts are there, can't wait until we see this monster back in action
Hi Shmee, are you getting a new 2020 Mustang Shelby gt500?
How comes you dont get a small secure warehouse for the cars instead of the differant garages? Just imagine the possibilities!!
WeiguChicken Burger you know that garage he is keeping his cars in, are really secure?? Its a perfect spot for him! And AS he said earlier, there AS some crazy cars in that excact garage aswell
It's one of my favorites of your cars, absolutely stunning in my opinion.
Shmee i love your stuff
Ur great
Keep it up dude
You should get Topaz Skin in Cerulean Blue on your trailer to match the Senna and G63!
Useless cause he doesn't even use it much
I hope he does too, especially if it’s a enclosed trailer which I assume it’ll be
14:20 he was about to cry :(
New fan for the channel I’m enjoying it a lot have a good day
Welcome back Senna! Hope to see it back on the roads soon
Will a senna 1/18 model be available anytime soon?
Sikat25 Vlog English ain’t your first language is it
@@sikat25 ur videos suck
Surprised McLaren themselves aren't doing this.
Can't wait to see more videos with the Senna! :)
Your car is coming along very nicely!
4:48
I spy with my little eye...
...a really nice (Rolex) Daytona!
Glad things are moving along!
I totally agree with you about the average speed cameras Shmee. We also have a few in Australia and I can't imagine how you can be attentive and control your speed at the same time. Around 85% of all accidents are caused by inattentiveness. This may work if the speed limits would be reasonably such that people would naturally drive under them, however they are typically substantially lower than people can safely drive and so people are having to continually keep themselves in check.
You are British Tim; they are wings, NOT fenders.
xD
You better get a diminished value settlement from the truckers insurance.
Dude could sell his life and his wife and it still wouldn't cover even the spoiler's cost.
Don't quote me on it but I'm sure in England there is no such thing basically you shit out if its crashed.
We don’t have things like that. It will be repaired back to original under the trucking company’s insurance.
Is it diminished brand new parts no frame or drive train damage. Plus the parts came from the manufacturer of the car. Same with the exact paint
venom5809 yikes
Interesting view of the Senna. Thank you.
Great Video as always
It’s amazing how cheap it looks broken down.
in my opinion seeing all that carbin fiber makes me feel like the car is actually worth the price...sure yes there are some interior aero parts looking cheap but seeing the carbon fiber door and the panels gives me goosebumps
Are you going to keep the broken parts?
It will be a good idea since everything is made from carbon fiber !
What does them being made of carbon have to do with it? Carbon is essentially worthless when broken unless you've invented a nice recycling program and can turn it into something useful!
Insurance owns those damaged panels now. They may find someone to pay $ for them
And sell them to pay for the repair
Stonks
Such a shame about the accident, but ironically it has provided some very interesting and unique content. Amazed how composed you are, but much appreciated. Keep up the good work 👍
It's rather fascinating to see the senna in pieces. Looks kind of sad though with most of the right side missing. Love the content and glad to see the senna has everything ready to be replaced
Why there's alot of garages wrapping cars on CZcams...and so few showing the removal process or how to remove the glue residue and scratches from cutting the wrap?
Rog....A top quality "wrapping" will not have glue residue and certainly no scratches from the trimming. If you have had that experience, it is time you spent more money on the installation.
Lol sounds like a you problem
@@paulcopeland9035 a "top quality wrapping" is more expensive than a good paint jog. So it just justifies when you got an rare or expensive car, where the quality of the factory paint job affects the resale price.
Naming a car senna is like naming a ship the titanic again, what could go wrong!....🤪
What's wrong with you man? Show some respect....
Jhonatan Sousa satire.....
The Senna and the GT8 are my favorite cars in your collection. Two gorgeous blue cars. I'm glad the Senna could be fixed!
Thats an enourmous repair job Tim, so much parts wow......
Slap on a supercharger kit with 700hpin the Aston Martin
You ( and every car owner on youtube) really have to add *MY* in every title
Nice to see that the senna is in good hands👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Heartbreaking to see such a machine in this condition 😢, looking forward to see it when it's ready!
Shmeee..take the parts and do a “give away”...to your viewers!! Lol.
TopSecretVid that would be cool if he can but generally insurance carriers own the damaged parts.
Great idea if he could lol. I'm not sure an insurance company would release damaged parts or if Shmee would even want to.
basically nothing has happened, except for ordering some panels
Nice update Tim!
Good luck Tim with you're Senna
In my experience the “smart motorways” are the ones with the worse jams
But how’s the Asda lorry doing....?
Who cares...
@@davidfredheim9820 I think that was kinda the joke
According to the tracker, it was most recently seen abroad. The trailer was left in the uk to bail the evidence 😉
David Fredheim whooooosh!
Just a scratch its a big lorry
Glad the Senna is making good progress, looking forward to you taking her out again and sharing the thrill on your channel. For us to appreciate, would you share the prices for some of the parts, you did mention the price of the weel was reasonable but that may be subjective and is subject to scale 😅
*Honestly, I love seeing the Senna like that..Kinda neat to see some of the underpinnings of it.*
Shmee thought his Senna wasn't track worthy enought, so he had it stripped even more XD
You should make a model of your Senna
I've got a LEGO Speed Champions one! Hopefully we can add a 1:18 and 1:43 to the Shmee shop at some point in the future
When was the last time you drove your 675LT Spider?
I'm glad it didn't have that bad of damage done to it. I thought the chassis was damage to it. I'm So Happy that your Senna is goig to be back on the road soon Shmee !!!!!!
Why didn’t Mclaren do the repairs in Woking, rather than a third party ?
I understand the factory does not do "repairs" They are not equipped for it. He has it at the "factory store" which is staffed by Mclaren and all repairs will be factory precise.
Is the car a category D now?
No lol, that's if it has major damage, not cosmetic surface damage
Shmee150 great, happy to hear that
Almost accurate. It's Cat N and Cat S these days - N for Non-Structural and S for Structural. And it only applies if the insurance company paid out on a car. In this case they're repairing it, so it doesn't get categorised. Pay-out = categorised.
Hi shmee, love ur videos, I can't wait to see the gtr pro, nice to see the senna
Glad those people are able to fix and repair the Senna
What phone holder is shmee using?
iPhone 5s
BoltzY not phone but the holder
Big Mc jk but I think he’s using a selfie stick go pro type of holder
