Australia has produced many great artists in the past 20 years than us here in Indonesia LMAO, just look at INXS, Crowded House, Jet, Silverchair, Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban, The Vines, Wolfmother, Savage Garden. they are all world class act not just local heroes like our bands
What a relief that actual music still exists with bands like Jet. This shits all over the crap that usually wins awards at the ARIAs - like rap crap, hip-hop and other shit that no one will ever remember in 5 years let alone 20, 30 or 50 years like some of the greats. Today music sells based on (usually) sexualized music videos. Biggest selling artists of all time are still The Eagles, Michael Jackson, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Try humming let alone remembering anything by Nicki Minaj in 5 years.
Parkway Drive should've been hall of famers. Should be at some point anyway. 20 years and still going strong . Chart topping albums, they're dominating/ shows overseas. Shows are getting over the top and more spectacular every year. Oh wait it's heavy music too loud for precious mainstream lol. They're the biggest Australian band nobody (mainstream) has heard of. Jet is... Meh... They got hall of fame for what... Just for that one thing 🤷🏻♂️

Jet really are so woefully generic and unoriginal with their songs but the sad part is they're still miles ahead of what has tended to dominate our local music charts for the last two decades...we just seem to lack any genuinely creative original talent.
King Gizz? Tame impala? Hiatus Kaiyote? Beddy rays? Amyl and the Sniffers? Violent Soho? idk man, look past the end of your own nose and you might find some genuinely creative local talent.
@@tohdefish Didn't realise King Gizz were Australian😅. Impala, Amyl and Soho are solid but not exactly the most original sounding groups albeit nowhere near as bad as Jet. Don't know the other two but I'll definitely do a dive into their stuff and give them a whirl! Cheers for the recommendations nonetheless even if you were being snarky about it 🤙
@@beowulf1417 haha yeah sorry dude I tend to get a bee in my bonnet whenever I hear sweeping generalizations, I guess often you have to ignore most of what you see on the ARIA charts to find the real good local stuff but its definitely out there. While you're going try out Glass Beams, Battlesnake, The Sothern River band, telenova, Mildlife, Private Function and Pist Idiots to name a few of my current faves. Don't get too hung up on originality either, Some of my favourite bands over the years have put out banger albums that a cynic might say are derivative, but it doesn't stop them from sounding great!
