Yup can we
Are the plans for this ever going to be released? They still only show as pre-order for a September release.
Glad you got that pro tip in there! Love it
Always!
Love the live narration. Feels more like we are just hanging out instead of telling us what you did. Really great!
Love the new style, Johnny. And the playing card trick is one of my favorites I've learned!
I always thought of myself as someone who buys unnecessary tools, until the day I discovered your channel. :))
Hah, can never have too many tools!
I was always told that there is an equation for how many tools you need: n+1
Where n = the number of tools you already have đ€Ł
Me too
Beautiful work, Johnny! đ
The vanity turned out gorgeous! I liked that the black paint allows you to still see the wood grain!
Stay safe there with your family! đđ
Thanks, I definitely agree, this thinner paint definitely was nice as the grain is highlighted!
I'm curious, what made you choose to do live narration as opposed to voice over in post, like in the past?
Just felt like changing things up! Was a nice change of pace and I like the way the video turned out. How about you?
@@craftedworkshop It was jarring initially as it is drastically different to your previous videos and almost made it feel like a different channel. It lends to a more conversational tone as opposed to the more scripted tone of voice overs, which might be what you're going for and I can't say I find any issues with it. It makes your content more personal, voice over creates a barrier between you and the camera (and the audience). I'll be interested to see what you do with it going forward.
Sunday is always such a good day for CZcams uploads
I really liked the live narration in this video and how you showed working through problems as they came up
Glad you enjoyed it!
I dig it! Really enjoyed this style of voiceover/video editing. The quieter, calmer music was really nice!
Awesome, thank you!
I like how you spoke to the camera more, rather than the voice over this time!
Glad you liked it! I was interested to see what people thought, just kind of feel like changing things up a bit.
As I have a tiny bathroom to build out in the future, this really excites me... So many good ideas
Glad I could help!
Love the black on the counter. The bathroom is looking real nice.
Holy crap, my kid used to do that first-finger "thumbs up" at that age. Awesome.
Hah!
Killer job on the vanity!
Really like this style of narrating as you go! Shows us a different side of the process. Great work!
Thank you for making these videos and inviting us in to your builds. Great work! Love what you've done with your shop/house/shed.
Thanks a lot!
Have been thinking about doing something similar in my bathroom and just love the way you make it, the light under it is genius!
Contrast of black and white looks modern and nice and this floating vanity is practical.
Thanks!
fantastic project addition ... I just happened to find 25 minutes and 35 seconds to watch this .... you are sooo good at these vids wonderful perfection.
Thank you!
Dude this house is a dream house so sick good Johnny
Thanks!
Gorgeous!! Such a nice combination of materials!! and that under cabinet light will really come in handyđ
Thanks mama!
Turned out great. I love the LED lights.
One things for sure. That veneer is never coming off LOL
Beautiful design and build. It looks amazing!
Thanks!
Awesome craftsmanship! Some of your ideas you come up with is mind blowing đ„
Love the Ferris Bueller reference. Perfect!
Beautiful work Johnny! That floating cabinet & sink are really awesome! đđđđ
Thank you! Cheers!
Final results look great! I really like the drawer front bevels for drawer pulls. Looks very classy.
That water based contact cement seems like anything "green" these days. It sorta works but not nearly as well as the tried and true, non green stuff. I recently needed to give some paint brushes a good cleaning from dried up paint. The store didn't have the normal stuff I usually get so I got some "green" brush cleaner they had. Totally worthless! It didn't stink and was a pretty white color, but didn't do squat to clean brushes. Might as well have used milk. Got some of the petroleum based stinky stuff and worked perfectly as expected. :)
I have used contact cement on way too many of my builds. A majority of the times that the two surfaces wouldnât stick together was because the surface absorbed too much of the glue and did not leave enough on the surface to react with the other layer. You get this a lot in gluing laminates. The laminate might only need one coat and the wood side could take three coats. The old contact cement that smells like death really is the best. Itâs just so awful and for some reason costs more than liquid gold. Great video, canât wait to see more. đ
Looks fantastic love it
Great video and beautiful vanity!
Thank you so much for this, Iâm inspired, going to try it , . Thank you for the pro tip
Loved the output
Beautiful
excellent vid man ... super cool and great walk through as usual.
Awesome build. It is funny how most of the time it is the product not mentioned in the description that I'm most interested in đ I found the SPAX T-Star plus Trim Head Screws for MDF and Fiberboard on their site. Thanks for the heads up about it.
Nice. I need one of these
I love your videos on the Not so tiny house but Iâm really happy to see you working back inside for a wood project.. and what a crazy project đđđâŠ
A french fan whoâs always thinking when he watch your videos that he can never do the same work đ€ŁâŠ
Hah, thanks! Exciting to get back into the shop. Canât wait to dive into the kitchen build soon đ
Great idea on that under sink led strip. Wonder how high you set the vanity height. Appreciate your response!
Good video as always ! thanks!
*Itâs awesome*
I used the 3M spray adhesive that comes in a green (you can get at most hardware stores) can last year for a countertop. I just followed the instructions and it came out perfect.
Good tip! I thought about spray adhesive, maybe I'll try that in the future.
One is green and one is red. Either way there is a 77 and a 99. The 77 is good but the 99 is way better.
really great idea with battery pack. great simple solution to getting power to the lights. nice job. would love to hear a follow-up to battery life after some times passed.
Thanks! I can definitely update yâall.
yo I appreciate the work you put in this vids and making them too the narration was great cuz it didn't take anything away from your other vids keep it man
I appreciate it!
Wow! My dream shop. Would love to see a video on the shop equipment. :)
Some #Fine HomeBuilding you got going on. Thanks for sharing.!!
Thanks!
Thank you sir Godbless
intro 11/10
Very neat and tidy build, keep up the great work ;)
Can we also see how the plumbing fit in the cupboard?
Yes, as soon as it's hooked up! I'll show it in the next video.
Interesting video, but I would think about using a vacuum bag for veneering instead of contact cement.
Looks sick dude!
Thanks!
Johnny squat is back!!!
very goodđ
Hanging cabinets can effectively protect against moisture
Good video đ
Quick tip for anyone installing a new sink...it's way easier to install the faucet on the sink before you install the sink in/on the counter...greatly reduces need to squeeze into tight spaces in the cabinet!
Yup, found that out the hard way here, hah!
What's the lead time and price point on that hex tile? I love it and doing my bath.
Donât know why I find epoxy shavings so satisfying, ahhh. P.S.: whereâd you get that sweet orange thunderclamp đłđłđł???
You're just brilliant dear. Every time you just blew my mind with your design ideas. Great going pal.
Thank you so much!
Awesome! Now I just need to spend 10K+ in tools to build a $300 vanity. Easy!
how do you like those clicky clamps?
Came out niiice đ.
Question: is there a reason why you chose to paint the top black vs maybe staining it with black India ink or maybe cerusing it like you've done in other past projects? I mean, it looks great but I was just wondering if maybe the stain maybe wouldn't hold up to water since it's in the bathroom.
Also I love Govee lights. I have a few led lights around the house. The ones we installed under our kitchen cabinets look amazing and the app is perfect. I can control all 3 lights we have from it.
I think a stain would hold up with the right finish but that Cerused Oak with the Rubio has not held up that well on our kitchen table, a lot of spots are worn through. I figured I wanted something fairly bombproof since this area will see a lot of moisture.
You have invested in some nice equipment, sawstop , most important for safety, we have three of them .
Do you think you could have stopped the top bowing if you sealed it completely?
Bad ass dude
Wow dude your shop is insannnnnne... how do you keep it all so tidy??
Whoa, what the hell Johnny? You're making an actual piece of furniture?!
Hah, get used to it, because I'll be building all of the furniture for the tiny house coming up!
@@craftedworkshop If I could heart respond I would, but you'll have to make do with a thumbs up!
What power bank did you use for the LED lighting? I love the idea, but the power bank I bought has an auto-off feature that is causing me problems. Thanks!
I have the same problem!!!
Always enjoy your videos but, this format > the voiceover format đ
Glad you liked it!
Dominos/biscuits/dowels always results in more sanding for me than if I just edge glue panels. The glue swells, moves on each side. Im done using 'alignment' guides. I just edge joint the boards properly and then glue them together.
I don't think it's the glue causing issues, that sounds like a tool problem. I barely have to sand the glue line after using Dominos.
Hi there, did you just have the one cleat or was there another lower down? I am thinking of making a similar one but it will have a stone top (heavy :) ) . Thanks in advance
Just the one cleat, but then the cabinet is attached to the wall through the lower back stretcher.
That is a lot of work, compared to what er do here in europe, but end result is great đ
Thanks!
What do you do when the wood gets wet and begins to expand?
Yayayyayayay
Great. Now build a floating shower basin. I'll wait đ
Is that an addition to the hat for a pencil holder or is it the hat itself???
Which modelling 3d software do you use? Thanks
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
đ
We put blocking for grab bars in the shower...and then couldn't find them once the tile was in. I think that if we had made a reference mark on the inside of the rough door frame and measured off that with the laser, we could have created some useful measurements.
Yea that is problematic!
Death always works better. 9:14
Hah, no kidding!
I'm have just started watching these videos, I am enjoying the build, and your videos are well done and you do great work, just one question, are you independently wealthy like Bruce Wayne or something? Seeing all the high-end tools you have in your shop, and how you keep showing up with all these new expensive tools as these videos go, I am just a bit curious how you can pay for all that, I know those are not cheap tools by any means lol
This is beautiful, and I love how well edited is the video - unfortunately, Iâm a beginner and have very little tools
I hated the way you had painted the top black, right up untill you installed it. You were correct, it does look better black. Good job.
Hah, thanks!
so much fancy~!! how do I make this one as beginner... impossible... I don't have any tools ...and skills to use tools... sigh...
Have you every thought bout getting a helper that could be full time for you ? If so Iâm from Texas Sit Iâm willing to re Locate
Everytime I see a jointer it reminds me of Jamie Perkins accident đąđąđą
I Love your workshop setup, Awesome. The only thing negative I would say is, overkill on building the vanity and way too much time/labor spent. I could build this same vanity, as strong or stronger in 6 hours max, with drawers with dovetail joints, no painting, or installation.
@10:42 (wonderful build BTW), but life is too short to deal with bits that pull out and screws that fall off. Get yourself a Wera 889/4/1 K Rapidaptor Universal Bit Holder. You'll thank me later. One of the cool features is that you can change the bits one handed. LOVE IT.
I've got one here at the house and I LOVE IT, need to get a few more for around the shop. Thanks!
I can't understand vessel sinks that take up the entire countertop... Can anyone enlighten me
What the hell? Whereâs the affiliate link for that amazing drawer front clamp? I believe it was sort of large and orange, but I could be mistaken ;)
Hah, here it is! amzn.to/395JQ21
Where you get that wutang shirt from?
I designed it and did a test print, planning to do a run of a few designs here soon. Guessing you liked it?
@@craftedworkshop i did. I want to buy one
5:44 You forgot to use up the leftover epoxy. Take a few random boards out and fill any defects. Fewer defects to deal with in future projects, and no wasted epoxy.
Good idea! I always think about what to do with the excess but I like that option a lot.
You already got a new video editor or was this your work? Video style and I guess transitions looked different than usual đ
This was me! Just wanted to change things up a bit.
@@craftedworkshop Looks and feels good to me!
I like this design. Contact cement isn't real ideal for veneer especially in a wet area. It doesn't have a rigid glue line.
I've used it on laminate countertops in my kitchen and haven't had issues, but I could see where that could be an issue I suppose. Thanks!
Size ?
Don't get me wrong buddy.... but your voice over videos are good
For sure, glad to hear the opinions! I like both styles personally and will probably mix it up.
Was "squirrely" an homage to John?
Of course! John and I are buddies.
Your recording style seems to have changed quite a bit, they're more...playful and less serious, kinda like FixThisBuildThat, doesnt feel like im watching a generic pre-recorded TV show, feels alot more youtubey, which is fantastic :).. love the build btw!
Glad you liked it!
Where did you get all the money for your shop. It is decked out with all of the tools and equipment. Looks like a high school shop used for teaching.
I've been doing this full time for about 5 years and have slowly accumulated the tools that are part of my current setup. Go back and check my old videos, definitely didn't have this setup back then! I'm also fortunate enough to work with some brands who send me tools to use, which is awesome.
