My bts LOVES rose petals. Rose bushes are super easy to grow, and you get more flowers than with a hibiscus. Your diet is exactly what I do for mine, but I use the canned instinct for small dog breeds.
do you clean the rose petals or anything? I know that sounds weird but I would love to try this and want to make sure it will be completely safe

My blueys love repashy's bluey buffet. I usually mix some in with the rest of the meal, or give it as a treat 😊

Great video! My blue tongue Bart also loves blueberries, he'll eat them even before his protein. I am a little careful with Paté just because when I scoop it out and mix the veggies up he'll try to eat the entire thing instead of taking bites out if it. And I love that clip at the end, my dog also gets so jealous when I feed my skink!!

One of the easiest and a overall healthy vegetable option is to buy Healthy Herp and rehydrate the veg, you then mix that into your dog or cat food. My skink loves it never has had a issue , give them a small amount fruit once every week or two

I use the raw dog food for my skinks and tegu as well and my tegu especially loves it! I also feed the high quality wet dog food to my skinks (zignature, Merrick), these get mixed with greens and sometimes fruit.
Thank you so much!! I just adopted my BTS Rose. From your videos I found out she is Indonesian and wild caught. Which I didn’t know until I noticed she was super timid and would hiss when I tried to handle her. The reptile store never disclosed a lot of care information so I’ve been trying to learn on the fly because they told me the wrong kind and everything! You’re videos are a life saver!! I still love her regardless but now I feel more prepared to take care of her ❤
My blue tongues are spoiled they don't care for the instinct raw dog food. I make my dogs own food and they like the raw recipe I use for that.usually they are all about quail eggs as well as snails or applause cat food
I want to try what you recommended but in the ingredients it says it has spinach and you just said not to feed them that. Also, I thought you are not supposed to give them seafood/shellfish but it has salmon oil? Are these low enough where it doesn't effect them? If I feed this to my bts should I add calcium on top since it has spinach?

Amazing video! So clear and easy to follow, I greatly appreciate it. This has allowed me to feel I could actually manage the diet of a BTS. It’s been very intimidating, and has kept my S/O and I from getting the BTS in the pet store we frequent. I’m going to watch this through with him and then we’ll have the conversation again about getting that skink and maybe it will be yes :)

People always think it’s so much more work because of the variety, but it’s truly enjoyable for me at least to see my bluey trying more things and knowing they’re eating properly. I would place it as medium difficulty because of the trouble many have getting them to eat greens 🥬, but creating the variety is not as daunting as it seems

hands down favorite food of my little Keyensis blue tongue(around 6 months old) is a gutloaded Dubia roach dusted in calcium pouder. Not sure if the gutloading is something he really cares about as I haven't fed him a hungry roach yet but he won't eat dubias without the calcium smell and white look

aw chancho! just wanted to share that there is spinach in InstinctRaw- its listed last on the ingredient list so its probably a super low amount but.. i would assume spinach is probably in most wet or raw dog foods
I have always wondered what vegetable matter Australian Blue Tongues eat in the wild, because there aren't a lot of options especially as far as fruit goes.
Creepy Gallery I’m really not sure either. I’d be curious to find out. But we know that it can be beneficial in small amounts, so it’s a great thing to add to their diet in captivity.
@@reptiliangarden They certainly seem to respond to it. I only have wild Blue tongues around me so to see one in as good of a condition as yours is awesome, they are usually missing toes and their original tail.
m=Mushrooms are toxic too. I read on one website they were safe and on another that they were toxic. Made my skink sick for a week!

Also unrelated but I watched your channel to get some of my crested gecko knowledge and I went to buy my first one last week. Apparently it is actually illegal in the UK to sell a crested gecko if the owner says they will not provide UV and it has been since a law since 2018, which I was not aware of. I had to buy a new uva and uvb bulb on the spot and get rid of my LED :( I know it doesn’t concern your area but if you start educating people like me on this there would be a lot less confusion as a lot of people in the uk are also unaware of it! With the suggestion for instinct dog food for when there older is there a suggested cat food for when there still young ? I dont have one yet but im doing every research i can in prep.
The reason he doesn’t want to be picked up because he is not used to you the only way he will get used to you, YOU NEED TO PICK HIM UP!!!!!
How often should they be fed?
Can I feed my blue tongue grain free dog kibble which has been soaked in water? I have read articles saying that they have gotten good results with that. Do you think that could be an option ?
Are flowers a substitute for greens/veggies? Where do they fall in the 50:40:10 ratios?
They are just extra nutrients to add! I just sprinkle some on top here and there

hi! so I recently adopted a bts and I’ve had her for about 2 weeks. I have heard they take awhile to start eating (she hasn’t eaten for me yet) but I’m wondering if there’s anything I could add to attract her to eat?

emmy’s pets Hey! I would check your enclosure temps and husbandry. Do you have a lot of hiding places and such? It may be needed to help your skink feel more secure and settle in sooner so that it relaxes enough to eat some food.
Reptilian Garden thanks for responding! yes I just checked and she temps are good and her humidity could go up like 5 more percent but it’s pretty good! i think she’s still nervous since I switched her tank around when I got her but I’m not 100% sure hoe the other people set it up. thank you! I’m gonna make sure everything stays good for her!

Insects are really good for babies, they need the extra protein whilst growing.
I’m gonna try that raw instinct dog food! When I got my blue tongue he would not eat any greens or vegetables, I had to finely chop it and mix it with the dog food
