Scissor seven is honestly one of the best shows I've seen this year what a phenomenal show.
Season 2 on Netflix now oh boy
True
Yesssssirrrrrr
I binged the whole series today. i want more its sooooooo good. Its deserves a better grade than an B
made Cantonese something everybody thought was cool where I study
Last year: Don't curse or get demonetized.
This year: Everyone has to cuss or include mermaid sisters for COPPA protection.
This really is the weirdest timeline.
Seriously, fuck COPPA. You gotta feel bad for the people who actually make content for kids to watch about stuff meant for kids. Like, people who genuinely want to entertain kids talking about the stuff they like theoretically can't get ad revenue for their vids.
@@darwinxavier3516 dude, coppa did nothing wrong. CZcams could have avoided all of this by not taking information from minors and later by not placing the blame and weight on creators instead of themselves.
@@elenpena42564 CZcams originally wasnt meant for kids :( They have a separate app for them !

Scissors Seven underrated af the second seasons ending was amazing and a huge cliffhanger, when is season 3 coming I need more right now.
Idk bro
its on youtube bro its in netflix jail currently so the fans subbed it
It is now out in China but not dubbed or dubbed yet. You can wach the entire season by searching for it on CZcams and they actiually subbed it, I watched cause I was too impatient and God was it amazing. The only complaint I have is that the ending is the biggest cliff anger I have seen to this day

If Netflix would simulcast everything, I wouldn't mind them securing more anime so much. But, the reality is different.
Shadushio I’d personally recommend Lost Song to you.
That would ruin a lot of animes, since most of them are more enjoyable when binge watching. But i guess Carole & Tuesday's not one of those anime's, from what i can tell it's an artsy slice of life?
@@Mycrosss If simulcasted, you can still binge later once it's finished if you wish. But, those who like to watch it air weekly have the option too. Both win.
@@shadushio9682 Exactly. The real problem here is the lack of choice.
Yeah like where is the violet evergarden gaiden thing?
Siccor Seven really reminds me a lot of Space Dandy with all this randomness, humor and emotion and and incompetent pervert main characters with the heart at the right spot and a howl bunch of good music.
Borsalino Kizaru It gives a studio trigger KLK kinda vibe
You said this exact comment on donghau reviews
@@rawsonross8629 Yes your right.
You can't advertise enough for space dandy much to unknown.
*scissor *whole
scissors seven season two was so good
The third was better so make sure everyone watched it
Im so glad you're bringing more attention to Scissor Seven. It's one of the best Chinese animation so far. I do find it funny they've advertised it as a "Netflix original anime" considering it was released independently in 2018 and depending on your definition... may not count as anime since it's Chinese. Despite misrepresenting it so much and paying a decent amount on a great voice cast they still didn't bother marketing it all =_=.
Its because its Chinese and relations between china and America is horrible right now.
I’ve noticed a surprising amount of “Netflix Originals” actually just means “licenced to Netflix in your country”. For example, in Australia Star Trek Discovery, by CBS, and Teen Titans, by WB DC, are both licensed as “Netflix Originals” on Netflix AU.
Most Netflix originals aren’t actually Netflix originals
Carole and Tuesday brought us the greatest musical masterpiece of all time. . . Galactic Mermaid. It's on Spotify and Apple Music. Go listen to it.
UnNuclear thaaaaaaaaaankkkkkk yoooooooouuuuu

Netflix doesn't really know how to treat anime fans correctly in my opinion. What, with their method for releases being only a while after the show has finished airing for that season. Aside from that, they're decent though.
Shadushio yeah and I’m Europe. Like the uk death note dub is in polish. I have to use a vpn for the English dub
Netflix US. Netflix Japan manages weekly releases just fine.
At least you can find it unlike on Amazon, making it impossible to find new anime
@@jsc315 or like that whole thing with psycho pass where unless you searched with very specific syntax, season 3 wouldn't come up in your results.
Honestly Tbh Netflix has their methods Crunchyroll has theirs! I watched All of Besstars even tho it was in Netflix Jail! I watch Dorohedoro even if it aint on Netflix quite yet. Now im not no ssint and honestly i could care less how i watch anime legal streaming illegal streaming as long as it feasible to watch lol.
Finally, someone’s talking about Carole and Tuesday!
This video:
90% passive aggressively complaining about Netflix.
10% wholeheartedly praising well-deserving anime.

do u mean 10% praising uninteresting anime with bad animation
That's because his rent gets paid by Crunchyroll
Link Hidalgogato wtf do u watch?
Scissor freaking Seven is SUCH a treat. I watched it all with my sister over the past three days and it was an absolute blast, we laughed and gasped and cried. (And sang with it a lot.) I highly recommend watching it with a friend if you can, but if not, certainly don't let that stop you.
I’ve seen scissor seven and it’s sooooooo good
Scissor seven was hilarious I absolutely loved it!
Time Stamp ~
1:02 - Carol and Tuesday
8:22 - Levius
14:15 - Scissor Seven
Carole and Tuesday made me smile more than any anime last year. It's sometimes clumsy, a bit corny, but it's made with so much heart. Hearing Desmond's first song made me feel like music rarely makes me feel. It's made with clearly so much love for music, it's truly touching.
For me it's a toss up between carole & tuesday and bunny girl sempai
I just need to know before I consider watching it. Is it a Yuri? No offense to anyone who is a fan of that genre but I am not a fan at all, and its a deal breaker for me every single time.
@@Jack_Ss not at all
Jack Novak it’s not a yuri at all. There’s basically no actual romance other than a one episode side plot with Tuesday that I kinda hate but even then it isn’t yuri.
@@mariabrandao5559 Thanks for the info. Still looks VERY shojo, and I wish that Watanabe would've gone in a slightly different direction with maybe a jazz or rock band instead of a duo, but at least I wont have to worry about that.
Yay I was hoping Scissors Seven would get some attention. I think it would be nice for more Chinese anime to be brought over. Some variety, you know? Like, donghua has tropes as well (gawd I can't stand Stallion Cultivation series. Cultivation is like, the evolution of isekai, if you want to see where that genre is headed), but they are unfamiliar to most anime watchers. For example, To Be Heroine wasn't the most visually impressive, but it was different from traditional anime stories, and ended up being one of my favorite series that season
Kay Division even though it’s not Netflix, but you can watch it legally for free on CZcams on the [U17.com] channel is Rakashasa Street. You can also stream/download the show on Amazon prime too, but you need to pay for Amazon prime.
Damn you, Mother's Basement!
As a 40 year old anime fan who just started getting back into it last year after 15 years away, Cowboy Bebop Cinematic Universe were magical words. Carole & Tuesday had been on my watchlist while I was ignorant of the creative team behind it but it instantly jumped to the front. And yeah, it's amazing.
So much so that two days later I can't bring myself to start watching anything else because I know it won't be as beautiful. What's worse, i can't even sing along with Lonliest Girl because it keeps making me cry.
You will pay for this!
Whether you like or dislike Netflix's anime, everyone can appreciate that they're getting Ghibli movies (feel bad for ya usa, japan, canada)
Not your name anymore though
*coughs in NordVPN*
If they're going to dub them with some fancy language skills showing no cultural knowledge I'm not going to be happy one bit. Honestly I'd rather wait for them to show up on TV just cause Netflix doesn't appreciate and respect anime I feel :/
US Netflix is pp-poopoo
HBO subscribers get MAX. Which will have Gibili movies.
Honestly scissor sevens story has been getting really intresting especially after season 3
Also scissor seven is extreamly popular in China and won't be canceled for a loooooong time
I’m glad you brought up Levius-it’s such an underrated anime that many people dismiss as a Megalo Box ripoff, despite the manga having come out before the show. Really guys, check it out! And if you’re worried about the CG, then don’t! It’s really well done.
Also, the Ed and Op to the show is a chill bop!
High Score Girl needs way more love. The second and final season finished last month, so it should be on Netflix soon. It's a huge nostalgic love letter to gaming in the 90s, specifically the arcade fighting game scene. And because of that it's easily become a personal favorite. Anybody who grew up playing street fighter needs to watch it asap!
What.
@@ILikeGuns1992 Just watch it, don't ask questions!
awesommme i loved scissor seven. I thought it would end up being one of those shows thats totally swept under the carpet and nobody ever talks about. I was super happy to see you talking about it!!
In case you’re curious BEASTARS gets released from Netflix jail on March 13th specifically. At that point, please support the official release
For those of you doubting liking it for furry designs I implore you to give it the 4 episode try and see how you feel after. By then the show makes it clear where it’s gonna go and you’ll know if you’re in or out. I’ve recommended it to staunchly anti-furry designs anime goers and they are all now caught up. That’s the only recommendation I can give, from there it’s up to you
So late ?!?!? >:C
josefa gomez schmeisser it’s def really late but at the same time it’s coming with proper English dub so I’m double planning on watching it again when it drops for English
Aww yeah
So late, but I will watch on Netflix because I didn't watch yet

I cried like a baby during Carole and Tuesday’s 7 minute miracle, so needless to say I believe the show deserves more recognition, and am thankful you’re providing that.

Sometimes I forget Geof is Canadian, but then he says "And I'm not even SOORY" and I get the fun of remembering all over again
scissor seven was the first anime trailer netflix showed me actually (i opened an account in January)
“Allows levius(?) to connect with the rest of the world.”
Shows him landing a killer, steam-powered right hook.
I love it.
Jokes on you Geoff, i've already seen all of these, won't stop me from enjoying the video tho
Watching Scissor Seven right now and I fell in love with it. It's Scott Pilgrim + No More Heroes, if I saw this when I was 15 I would have had the biggest fangirling aneurysm ever

One. There's one thing you can do to stop me.
When the shows too good and gets locked into Netflix Jail.
I'm so happy they're making season 2 of scissor seven
Honestly, the storytelling of Scissor Seven took some getting used to, but the animation and humor was more than enough to keep me hooked until I figured out what was going on. But now it's one of my favorite non-japanese animes, especially once the plot gets rolling towards the end of season 1 through season 2.
thx MB, been scrolling over it a couple of times but somehow it just never struck me as interresting enough tbh, and im happy u changed my mind in that regard ^^
Yeahhhhhh Scissor Seven finally getting some recognition, this animes comedy is funny as hell and the story is still pretty impactful when it tries to be
Honestly 3d animation is a huge turnoff for me liking a show, so when you stared describing Levious to me i droned you out. I was listening a little, and the world sounded more and more cool, and now i am super psyched to watch that.
Me: sees Mother's Basement upload a video about Netflix anime
Me: "aw yeah I can't wait for the roast on Netflix and a genuinely good list of stuff I need to watch."
You are the first CZcamsr I've seen talking about scissors seven!! I absolutely loved the series and was bummed that no one seems to be talking about it! It seriously deserves more attention!
Carole & Tuesday literally made me bawl when they started playing together for the first time. It was raw and emotional and for someone with the mental health equivalent of constipation, it broke me in a very positive sense that I needed in the worst way.
Scissor Seven is a blast. A reminder of times when animation was, well, animated, with cartoon physics and all, and not drawn radio like many shows. That's something I learned with Chuck Jones bio. Listen to an animated show, without looking at the screen. If you can figure out what's happening, it's drawn radio. If you can't, well, that's a Cartoon, capital C.
And Scissor Seven is a Cartoon. Heck, even looking sometimes you go WTF?, and just enjoy the ride. It's not epic, it's not profound, it does not teach any lesson. It's pure entertainment. Pure great entertainment.
Thanks for noticing it
Always love when I get a mothers basement notification
You sold me on Scissor 7 so I went to find it on netflix and surprisingly it's the first recommended show on the app lol maybe they do know what they're doing with their cartoons... maybe

Carole & Tuesday was absolutely my favorite anime of last year. I’ve never had a show make me cry at small moments the way that show did. 10/10
Scissor 7 is fricking great. It feels like something that would've came out during the experimental days of MTV or Adult Swim
Watching your videos has improved my grades in English, so thank you for that

Carole and Tuesday was one of my favourite animes to air last year, not necessarily underrated but a gem I think a few people would've skipped over. The soundtrack of course was amazing as well
Easily Carol and Tuesday is definitely one of my top anime of all time. My only grip is that I didn't watch the last episode on new years eve. lol
I appreciated you putting the OP song for Beck near the end, I have a lot of good memories with that anime and manga
Seriously, I didn't get past you posting the first few slides of scissor 7 before I had to watch its trailer..... Hours later after binging the whole series, I have to say, "THANK YOU!"
8:16 Got it, I'll watch Keijo. Looking forward to the character development
I understand everyones frustration with Netflix gating their content but in all honesty I'm loving that fact that a big player like Netflix is involved as heavily as it is in the anime medium. It allows more experimental type shows to have a chance of being made and it's being put in front of a more casual audience that wouldnt otherwise pay for an anime exclusive streaming service. For all its shortcomings I'm grateful to Netflix and I'm honestly watching content their more regularly than even crunchy roll or funimation.
On a different note, not necessarily an anime but the show to watch in my humble opinion is Kipo and the age of wonderbeast. It's a Netflix exclusive show that is just wholesome fun with solid animation and a great soundtrack.
Kipo is great
Crunchyroll is technically free. But without sub you deal with ads, don't get the highest screen resolutions, and have to wait one week longer for new episodes.
What Netflix is doing for anime as a medium is great.
What they're doing to their western audience with that anime isn't. Shows that have FULL English (and other languages maybe but I only check for English) dubbing and subbing but aren't being released until a later date even though they're sometimes completely aired in Japan is just... Horrible. I, as a Netflix owner, should not have had to watch Beastars (and soon dorohedoro) through illegal streaming sites. And sure, "Japanese" Netflix accounts have access to it. BUT using a VPN to watch Netflix this way makes Netflix angry... For whatever reason. There's no sense to it besides the fact that "the majority of their audience on the platform prefer binge."
I'm going to come off sounding like a boomer and really showing my age here. Before the advent of streaming services there were illegal sites and before that there was only 2 options; whatever was airing on television or if you had money you could buy expensive DVDs or even VHS cassette tapes and that was it.
I love the digital era were in, I pay for a bunch of services every month because I like the convenience of it and I like to think my small contribution helps the industry even if its just a little. But the fact of the matter is that we are spoiled for choice.
Simulcasting is a huge market and things are better than they have ever been for the consumer. And that's just it, we view things as just a consumer, many moving parts have to fall into place for a show to get green lit, even then with so many companies all throwing their hats in the ring trying to get exclusive shows for their own streaming services. I'm sure theres issues such as timed exclusive, or even just politics, tariffs, litigation, censorship ect.
The market is gonna keep expanding and I'm sure Netflix will keep trying to be competitive. The world today is very much adapt or die. Just look at blockbuster. All in all I dont want to seem like I'm talking down to anybody I'm just saying my piece. Netflix pioneered streaming took a big gamble and I'm grateful to their continued efforts to deliver content I wouldn't normally watch otherwise, as well as their heavy investments in the anime industry helping unique and amazing shows get made.
I've been literally waiting for this 😌😌
i've watched all except for scissor seven was working on an Netflix underrated video. You've beat me to the punch again.
Watch Hi-Score Girl. Nobody is talking about it and the show is awesome.
YEAA I watched it a while ago and I love that show
C+T is absolutely wonderful. It really is a feel good show that can really tug on your heart, and the music that joins you on the journey is pretty simple but heartfelt
Ok I was gonna ask about Cannon Busters! That OP is OP!! Can't wait to see your analysis 😁
YES!! I'm so glad you brought up scissor seven this show is amazing and super slept on.
I'm on episode ten of Carole & Tuesday and it's... ok? I really love it but the plot is very predictable, the animation and music are top notch tho. I agree with how it can be moving, I had great emotions watching it
14:59 Same exact issue with Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts!!! It is a FANTASTIC new cartoon by Studio Mir / Dreamworks that is being completely ignored!!!!!
Thanks for sending me over here! I don't know how I missed this vid, but man am I glad you also enjoyed Levius. The world is SOOO COOL. And Natalya is my new waifu.
gonna come back here later after i watch scissor seven since i was planning on watching it in day or two
Have to say, High Score Girl on Netflix surprised me. No show should look so... simple but be so charming
It seemed very cute.
I know I'm in a vast minority, but I found Carole and Tuesday a little underwhelming compared to Watanabe's other works, it was definitely good, and that animation was top notch, but to me it felt like it lacked a certain style that other Watanabe pieces have had. And this second point is also very subjective but the music just wasn't really my thing. But hey, if other people thought it was phenomenal then I think that's just awesome.
So far I am at episode 5.
Just to express the situation
Episode 1: good
Episode 2: okay
Episode 3: alright
Episode 4: shit
Episode 5: alright
As of this moment I am pretty bored.
I am going to watch it through but it just feels like a soap opera without any depth.
It had its moments but was honestly expecting a lot more. I finished it just because I like music.
I'm with you entirely
I enjoyed it for the most part but I have a full rant here that I hated the ending of the two seasons (or would it have been 1 season released in two parts? Whatever, I'm calling it two seasons). I wasn't crazy about most of the music as well but I can respect it (the rapper in season 2 very quickly became my favorite artist, lol. I need him to get more screen time if there's a 3rd season!) Spoiler for my biggest nitpick of the show:
It devolves into pretty much "We Are The World: Mars Edition". Bleh...I already hate such songs in this world, I don't want them in my anime as well :/
Alexander Filz I thought it was great the only thing that I thought was lacking was the plot but that didn’t stop me from watching the show, the characters are likeable the music is good and the visuals are amazing
for real! scissor seven is super underrated, thank you for bringing it to some light
I saw Scissor Seven in the thumbnail. Watching this video in the future where season 4 has been released in China and waiting for it to be dubbed. Best show to binge watch. I was hooked from the first episode, I had to question myself why I ever slept on it for so long. Even among other chinese anime (or donghua) it’s unique in animation and style. Definitely one of my top recommendations.
I've never been so upset at Netflix refusing to simulcast as I am this season. Give us Dorohedoro!
Hey, I've actually seen almost everything you promoted for once! I've watched only episode 1 of Scissor 7 so far but I'm going to need to swap over to subs...bless the lead guy's heart but the accent makes it hard for me to understand him in the dub, thus making the comedic delivery of the character fall flat. Good on them to use someone that's Chinese or Chinese American though!
I was advertised this anime as Netflix knows it's what I mainly watch so when you said they didn't promote this and there wasn't a trailer, I was rather confused because they very certainly promoted this to me. The main character looks like Super Sonic from One Punch Man and add in his unique skill and the interesting bird manager and it was enough to draw me in. I love anime that stray from the traditional path.
You nailed this one exactly on the head. Just finished Scissors Seven and started Carol and Tuesday. You are absolutely correct!!
I love your videos immensely
I found Levius by accident at the end of last year and I was surprised at just how much I enjoyed it. To me, I actually felt more invested in Levius as a character than I did for Joe in Megalo Box. The animation during the fights is pretty darn good, and I really liked how much emphasis the show put on tactics being just as if not more important than raw skill in the ring. It doesn't diverge too much from the standard boxing stories you've seen in the past, but I did enjoy its message about holding on to one's humanity in the ring and how no matter how brutal fighting and violence can be in general, there can still be meaning in how and why you fight. It was a solid 8/10 type show for me.
I got super into it for like a day, binged the anime and manga. They diverge a ton, especially in tone, but I really appreciated them both? The manga is a grizzly navel-gaze about finding meaning in hopelessness, and the anime feels like a Tri-Ace game come to life, with a more traditional Good Guy hero.
In addition to the Cowboy Bebop connections, there is also a Space Dandy reference in Carole and Tuesday.
I cant wait for your opinion on Cannon Busters!
Carole and Tuesday was the first anime that has crippled my emotions through singing. Devilman crybaby’s piano got me too
I actually liked Kengan Asura i would like to hear your thoughts on it on a next video

No not really not even in its own genre konosuba is still way up on the list even if you are asking the psychic comedy action and etc mob psycho 100 season 2 still win any time of day its good great even but not the best
@@eleinaedelweiss6215 you are forgetting the number 1 rule of media, there is no best or worst, you can't even really compare second seasons, to their firsts, or sequels to prequels, everyone has a different taste, something that they have delicately formed over time due to being exposed to different media, so saying something is best in a certain genre is just arrogant, when EVERYTHING is subjective, not just comedy

Glad you gave scissor seven some attention.
I just came around to binging Levius, even though I didn’t intend to, I just finished rewatching One Punch Man and then Levius got recommended to me, I’d seen it before on my recommandations list but it didn’t really make me want to watch, namly because I don’t understand boxing as a sport. But god am I glad that I decided to “Watch the first episode and see what happens” because I was paralized staring at my TV for the full duration of the whole first Season without once feeling the need to do something else. The characters were amazing! The antagonist reminded me of the Gourmet from Tokyo Ghoul in a weird way and Levius was one of the best and absolutely likeable protagonists I have ever come across. I loved the pacing of the fights, the details about the mechanical appendages and the world was gorgeous. The story kept building and drew me in completely same as all the intricately explained back stories of the characters and by the time he fought Malcolm Eden my adrenaline was off the charts, I found myself rooting for him and behaving a bit like Natalia what with screaming around my living room. 😹 The last 3 Episodes had me bite my nails and smoke one cigarette after the other in anticipation. It was a superb anime, I am so glad I gave it a chance. The animation might by weird at first if you’re new to the style but goddamn it showed exactly why Levius was such a great show to be shown via that animation style, I was floored by the fludity and absolutely satisfied with what I saw, also the sounds during the fights, the release of steam the sound of impacts it was through and through a great experience. 10/10 would recommend!
scissor 7 has a preview, I have been seeing it for a couple weeks now. havent gotten to it yet.
