You play at a very pleasant pace! I have heard more experienced players (strictly by age) play it as if they were just trying to show off that they CAN go faster. Just a garble of notes. Perhaps a good way to practice, but not for a performance that can be appreciated!

This is the composition that kindled my love of music in 1978. It was on an 8-track that came as a demo with my dad's new car. I remember that it was played by Virgil Fox. I fell in love and wore the tape out. Before that I had been ambivalent towards most music. I enjoyed it but it certain was not a passion. After hearing this one, I have yearned for more ever since. God has given me a great love of music. Sadly I was not given any talent.

This magnificent work is now stuck in my ears. I was following the counter melody sequences until the foot pedals kicked in, then the magic of the sonority swept me away. I'm sure Bach had a quantum computer for a brain.

I used to think the people who do busking with the giant piano keys, and they dance / play some Yann Tiersen, and one person does the high notes, and another does the high notes… those guys were really impressive. But here’s someone dancing the very low note, and each hand is doing different parts of the melody, and it’s just one dude.
You, sir, have raised my bar for what constitutes impressive skill.

I couldn’t do better than endorse what everyone else has said. Charlie you’re very talented , obviously work very hard and have done so for a long time, and you make a lot of people very happy . I often wonder what Bach was like in his early twenties and in you I now have a pretty good idea . With grateful thanks in these very troubled times. From Perth, Western Australia .

John Bogle Very true, and beautifully expressed, John. I posted something just as adoring, and I know it sounded floral, but his playing is actually hard not to describe without ravishing compliments. I so regret not having that confidence-or discipline? Or talent? at his or any age. His skill and musicianship and imp-grin are irresistible.

Yes , Danger Russ, of course, but I was thinking of Bach’s physical presence , demeanour and attack rather than his titanic intellect which is absolutely unique. I’m just curious about the physical presence of JSB and it’s affect on those around him. It must have been pretty awe inspiring although those in the know would be aware of his compositional abilities .
Have you checked out John Eliot Gardiner ‘Music in the Castle of Heaven’ ? Gives such a brilliant insight into the great man .

And one more thing , true when this video was taken: Charlie keeps such a good posture throughout the entire piece. Only one other person I can think of is as good, which is Yuja Wang : such a great - no, astonishing- pianist.

Charlie always seems to get great "joy" at what his eyes see in the notes and when directed to the manuals.... the organs output is joyous and satisfying to him..... and me and all that hear! His joy is probably on Bach's level and that could be fruitful for the future
