Thank you so much. This is a really helpful video as before you can start working with your dog the environment, timing and quick exits is the vital first step. I live in London, England by the river so there are dogs everywhere and smaller streets. I think if I adopt a reactive dog I know in a rescue (hi energy saluki lurcher) my best option is early or in the rain. Luckily we get a lot of rain and he doesnt mind it 🐾

Oh yeah, rain or early in the day would be best best. Reactive dogs and busy city environment is a volatile mix and you will definitely need to try different things before you find what works. Good luck!

Thank you. My young dog has a large personal space bubble re other dogs. We're working on it, but for now he needs to be walked somehow! This is helpful 🙂

The up down game, engage disengage, LAT, and have started conditioning a positive interrupter (on day 5 of 3 weeks of just using the word or phrase - not using for real until after those 3 weeks). Also just saw a shorts by spot on agility where she does a very light touch - thank you, I got this. Tried it at my Rodeo Dog class and it did help. I live in a city with a lot of feral cats too. I have said, no bark or we're going home - your choice. You have to follow through that very first time you say it so they know you're not crying wolf. And you're going back home on the boring part of the walk that you just took). Next walk, could even be later that same day, same thing - No bark or we're going home - your choice. You can see the wheels turning - do i want to keep walking with Mom or Dad or do I want to bark and go home? They almost always choose the walk. For dogs barking in their own backyard, will say No bark, that's their yard; you'd do the same thing if that was your yard. Usually get 1 whine and we continue on our walk. Works like a charm. Hope that helps.

@@robinrutherfordcost4748 Agree to LAT, up&down and engage/disengage! They are great training protocols to teach your dog to focus on instead of fixating on trigger!

Great video. Is there any chance to upload an uncuted version of your entire walk. That would be very exciting to see what really happen during a walk if you are a dog owner. Best regards

Or take the time n effort to socialize your dog n desensitize your dog.

Well...obviously. She clearly says that's for another video.

Dogs still need to be walked in the meantime , you don't just not walk a dog until socialisation and desensitisation is done , sheesh 🤦‍♀️ disappointed in the video creator liking this comment , puts me off this channel completely
