I didn't agree with America's involvement in the middle east, but while i was there, I did my best to be a good human being and serve those Soldiers around me and because I was a medic, I also provided routine and emergency care for the people of those countries. If you are angry, send angry but well written letters to politicians but try to send a box of socks or chocolates to the Soldiers.

Yeah, like plenty of songs and music videos portray soldiers as Nazis, Fascist, Murderers. But they don't just protest the war itself. I once worked along side a man who probably would have aimed a rifle at my dad. This guy was kind, hard working, and yet he was the enemy of my country 50 years ago. I feel both him and my late dad would have probably had long talks. I know he was in a battle against another guy at the same place and they cannot work with each other and would get into fights. I can understand their pain on both sides. Both had to fight for their countries causes and watched those they knew die around them and suffer. Next war we enter I vote we don't send kids. I remember seeing people commenting on the scene of them shooting at the flying vehicles like it would do anything, almost making fun of the absurdity of that. Only now, do I realise that that scene is meant to represent a few things about war: Chaos, Bravery in the face of Hopelessness, and Comradery. It shows how suddenly shit hits the fan in war, and how valiantly soldiers fight to protect themselves and each other despite it. This is how I see this video. At the beginning the Humvee is speeding down the road, symbolizing how eager we are to go to war. A while later, the vehicles start flying. That symbolized how valuable resources are being used and that we don't need vehicles of destruction. When the form a peramid, it shows the amount of waste and junk piles up in war until it shows a peaking point. The pyramid could also symbolize power. How the elite used money and power to create monuments, like the pyramids. And as you know, money is power. Power can pick give us the chance to advance, but its only the common man that can make humanity reach its full potential. Only the common man can end war. The wealthy create wars, we fight it. Anyway, the scrap pile also means how war destroys everything. How we waste so much for war machines only to have them destroyed in meaningless conflict. Body frozen and unable to move I was mesmerized by the sound and realized myself there with all of you! I must say that the part where they show the soldier aiming and shooting close up I must have looked into his eyes while pausing it at that very moment and to only see through his eyes as if I were him and him were one. As a current soldier I have to give kudos to the director for getting the uniforms and hardware right, for the most part. I don't think U.S forces have used a flamethrower since nam but this music video was still much more accurate than most "based on real events" movies lol

But they don't just protest the war itself.
I once worked along side a man who probably would have aimed a rifle at my dad. This guy was kind, hard working, and yet he was the enemy of my country 50 years ago.
I feel both him and my late dad would have probably had long talks. I know he was in a battle against another guy at the same place and they cannot work with each other and would get into fights.
I can understand their pain on both sides. Both had to fight for their countries causes and watched those they knew die around them and suffer.

Only now, do I realise that that scene is meant to represent a few things about war: Chaos, Bravery in the face of Hopelessness, and Comradery.

This is how I see this video. At the beginning the Humvee is speeding down the road, symbolizing how eager we are to go to war. A while later, the vehicles start flying. That symbolized how valuable resources are being used and that we don't need vehicles of destruction. When the form a peramid, it shows the amount of waste and junk piles up in war until it shows a peaking point. The pyramid could also symbolize power. How the elite used money and power to create monuments, like the pyramids. And as you know, money is power. Power can pick give us the chance to advance, but its only the common man that can make humanity reach its full potential. Only the common man can end war. The wealthy create wars, we fight it. Anyway, the scrap pile also means how war destroys everything. How we waste so much for war machines only to have them destroyed in meaningless conflict. I must say that the part where they show the soldier aiming and shooting close up I must have looked into his eyes while pausing it at that very moment and to only see through his eyes as if I were him and him were one. Thats amazing!! I'm proud that I am able to feel that. It's in my bones!
As a current soldier I have to give kudos to the director for getting the uniforms and hardware right, for the most part. I don't think U.S forces have used a flamethrower since nam but this music video was still much more accurate than most "based on real events" movies lol
