Everyone has a different opinion on the actual level to keep it at. Whatever level you decide to keep it at just keep it stable is probably the best advice I can give you.
Hi mate, I actually ordered the glass for this pond. It was 2 X 12 laminate. The best thing to do though is ask your local glass supplier though, those guys have all the experience and will be able to advise on the best glass, dimensions and thickness.

+ 1 KH and GH, I had massive goldfish issues as my water is basically zero for each. most over looked item in Koi and Goldfish keeping
