"Light" or alternative meaning "Silver Lining", is the theme song for the 6th episode of the 12 episodes "Forbidden City" documentary. This episode is based on Emperor Chongzhen's (of Ming Dynasty) life - he was born weak, and bore the burden of being born as an emperor. Though not the best emperor, he did try his best but ultimately failed to save his dynasty from collapse due to many reasons. The lyrics is reflective of his struggles and also serves as an encouragement. At 7:48, Zhou Shen incorporated the Peking Opera style singing - he was personally taught by a well known Peking Opera master to ensure he sang it in the right way since Peking Opera style singing is very difficult to master (the many intonations and etc). Some Chinese lyrics are very poetic, and it's not easy to translate it into English without losing the beauty of the lyrics. That is why there are so many different variations of the English lyrics. This song tells a sad story. There was one called Ming Dynasty in Chinese history. This is the story of the last emperor in this Dynasty. The emperor wanted to save this country, but he failed in the end. Finally, he chose to hang himself.

《光亮》是《紫禁城》这部纪录片第六集《余晖》的主题曲，第六集讲述的是明朝走向末路的过程与其最后一位皇帝崇祯。
崇祯是中国历史上最具悲剧色彩的皇帝，早年经历较为坎坷，因父亲明光宗是祖父明神宗所厌的太子，而母亲又是父亲所薄的婢妾，所以幼年并不幸福；五岁时，其母亲得罪被其父亲下令杖杀，崇祯皇帝交由庶母抚养。后因庶母照管不过来，改由另一庶母抚养至成人。他的哥哥明熹宗英年早逝，没有子嗣，于是将皇位给了他。
生不逢时的他刚好遇上了千年难遇的小冰河期，天灾不断，瘟疫横行，沉重的赋税让下层百姓起义不断，同时，关外的满洲贵族（未来的清朝统治者）势力崛起，内忧外患；虽然崇祯皇帝勤于政事、厉行节俭，但无法改变明朝逐渐崩塌的命运。
崇祯十七年（1644年），农民起义大军兵临紫禁城，崇祯皇帝见大势已去，咬破手指用血书写：“朕自登极十七年，逆贼直逼京师，虽朕薄德匪躬，上干天怒，致逆贼直逼京师，然皆诸臣之误朕也，朕死，无面目见祖宗于地下，自去冠冕，以发覆面，任贼分裂朕尸，勿伤百姓一人”，遂上吊自缢。
从少年的临危受命、踌躇满志，到而后的兢兢业业、竭力复兴，奈何王朝已内忧外患、风雨飘摇，最后城破自缢。既然无力回天，难逃宿命，崇祯选择“君王死社稷”，用生命守住他的信仰、他的百姓，这或许是他最后的那点“余晖光亮”吧。
