Michael Kiwanuka saw album 'Love & Hate' reach number one and received a Mercury Prize for follow-up 'Kiwanuka', produced by Danger Mouse and Inflo. His soul pop is alternately funky, then rocking and sometimes even leans towards gospel. 'Home Again' is a permanent fixture in the Top 2000. With 'On My Knees' he joined the illustrious list of vocalists - Thom Yorke, Richard Ashcroft, Mark Lanegan - who collaborated with UNKLE. His 2019 record is unbelievably great. Made me unironically cry several times. One of the best around when it comes to soulful music.

Michael Rocks! I have played guitar/vocals for over 40 years so you can trust my judgment; he is a solid musician winning the ears of many with canted timings, slanted key changes, and just overall brilliant composition; Simple, yet elegant and enrapturing. Love it!

Saw him open for Gary Clark Jr… Often wonder if Gary should’ve opened for him 🙂.. It was a life changing night… Both were brilliant… Stone Pony in Asbury Park New Jersey … That 82 degree late August Summer night in 2017

I went to the same concert in Berkeley @ the Greek theater but Michael kiwanuka was sick that day and didn't perform. Was so disappointing 😞.
