    Love her! I've been lucky to see her several times this season, and each performance was unforgettable -- so much grace, control and intention. Hope to see her in Onegin next season!

    the most real interview I've seen ..so beautiful and astonishing really. it captures feeling and dancing in its self rather than the esthetics of ballet.

    She’s so young spiritually and energetic physically. Wish we could see her one day!

    I adore Sveta, have watched her in so many ballets with my favorite dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze in Bolshoi, they were a perfect dancing couple. She is so talented and such a sweet person. Wishing her everything best.

    I wonder what Sansha she is wearing. I wear ovations 603 and have to do the same thing by taking out the nail and cutting the shank down. I wish they just made them that way, because it's not only me that finds the 3/4 to high

      Hi Dee Dee, Svetlana is wearing Ovation 3/4 Model 603.

    Обидно, что такой балерине ввиду неких форс-мажорных семейных обстоятельств пришлось покинуть Россию и БТ и участвовать в этой канадской балетной самодеятельности...

    gabriel frola is cute 😏😏😏

    @reanimato1 Před 7 lety +5

    Lunkina is really an amazing artist. But when her regular partner Tsiskaridze retired she stayed in shadow of others (including even phenomenaly weak Anna Nikulina). Lunkina's repertoire became miserable at that period. So no wonder that she left Bolshoy and joined other company. Good for her, good for NB of Canada.

      She left Bolshoi because of political reasons. Her husband

      What's the story with her husband?

    • @lingkejiang9244
      @lingkejiang9244 Před 7 lety +5

      Her husband was involved in some lawsuit in Russia, I think it had something to do with terrism or something. Not long before the denoucing letters were sent to many big ballet theaters in the world. She left almost immediately, and has not returned to Russia ever since

      Good for NB of Canada. For her it’s a real downshifting after all the roles she did at Bolshoi

    Хороша. Но таких много! Особенно в современном мире балета!

  • @bearllande

    i am so happy to see russian ballerinas working outside of russia. the bolshoi company is really a bad place, low budget so a lot of talented dancers not given the opportunities they deserve. they are even forced to retire even when at the peak of their career just coz some donor or patron prefers someone else they may or may not have slept with.

    • @BytomGirl
      @BytomGirl Před 6 lety +6

      Low budget? You must be kidding... there are some bad politics but they are not low budget. And not everybody gets in, it's hard to get in to Bolshoi but it's not because it's low budget, where are you getting your information?
      They don't work from donor or patron money, they are funded by the ministry of culture, federal funds. Hit the books again.

    • @thatahamoment497
      @thatahamoment497 Před 5 lety

      @@BytomGirl yes, but they are influenced by some persons from outside the theatre.... So yes, technically they are a state (national) theatre BUT ....

    • @thatahamoment497
      @thatahamoment497 Před 5 lety +1

      Life doesn't function like it's written in the books...

    • @BytomGirl
      @BytomGirl Před 5 lety +1

      It's strictly ministry of culture and also some rich private donors but that is a drop in the ocean, Bolshoi has a lot of money, reconstruction 2005-2011 cost millions. So no, no low budget, tickets for the shows cost a fortune too. There is a lot of corruption and preferential treatment but no problems with the money

    • @BytomGirl
      @BytomGirl Před 4 lety +1

      She did great at Bolshoi, was Prima there and didn't leave because she wanted to but because she had to and it had nothing to do with Bolshoi. In Russia arts are founded by the government. not privately so there is no such thing as low budget like iin the West, there is a bad management but it has nothing to do with funding, they just need a good knowledgeable director who is more than paper and pen pusher. Nobody is forced to retire unless the theater is trying to push someone out because they are uncomfortable for them. Not sure where you are getting your information.

    she is too skinny :(

    • @hannah7351
      @hannah7351 Před 7 lety +18

      That's like saying "She's too fat." As a ballet dancer you have to be fit. She is not at all "too skinny"

    • @ultravioletspirit
      @ultravioletspirit Před 7 lety +1

      yes, she looks sickly

      @KagayamiRuka Před 6 lety +7

      Aletia Gonzalez I mean... She's able to dance for hours upon hours at one of the top companies in the world, even at 37. So I'd say her body is just right fir her and what she needs and not "sickly" . Go watch nycb if they're more your aesthetic.
