- On 20 March, 2016 we went trekking to Hempeupet in the Barail mountain range of Assam. Hempeupet at 1748 meters is the second highest mountain peak in Assam. We started the trek from Leikul village which is located at the foothills of the Barail. It was a six hour trek. We finished the trek with a nice dinner at the Gaon Bura's (Villgage Headmen) house . Made a cool new friend Jaopu who was also our guide. Edmand and his friend Swarup also accompanied us on the trek.

Very Nice Video. it would be helpful if you can provide some detail regarding guides and required permits from authorities if any... And is camping is allowed, and is it secured or not?
Thank you. Guides can be booked from Leikul Village which is located at the foothills. You don't require any special permit for trekking/hiking/camping. Camping is allowed and the area is quite secure but the local guides will be able to give more information regarding that. If you are interested we can connect you to them.
Can u tell me the permit needs and camping/lodging facilities? M from guwahati
