    I bought Oscar from Seattle Coffee Gear and I love it! Every day I make lattes, and I'm beginning to be able to do latte art. I also got the Encore grinder. For me, they are perfect.

    Bought this machine a little over a year ago. Quite noisy lately when pulling shots and not getting even flow. No info on descaling or backflushing anywhere. Guessing all machines need to be descaled. How is it done on this machine??

  • @dr.kimiyaatfulcrumtherapy6737

    Can you show how to scale the machine?

    Gail you always made me laugh, hehehe!
    I haven't picked up any espresso machine just yet, but when I do it'll definitely be with one of SCG's reviews in consideration...

    Hi there, would you recommend this machine for a small cafe/coffee kiosk?
    I'm aware of this Maxine's NSF rating and was wondering aproximstely how many drinks it would be able to handle putting out per hour? Or if you would recommend stepping it up to a different machine?
    Thank you!
    Best,
    Hayden

      +Arkinghelena Hello! The Oscar has a heat exchanger boiler design, which will not be able to keep up in a small cafe environment. If you wanted to stay in the Nuova Simonelli family, we might recommend looking at the Appia: www.seattlecoffeegear.com/nuova-simonelli-appia-1-group-commercial-espresso-machine Give us a call and we can help figure out the right machine for you! 866.372.4734

    Hello. So I won a Simonelli Noava Espresso machine ( different model but red) from an auction of the set and prop items of the show The Magicians on Netflix. I have provenance and the props master of the show has written me telling me what set it was on. Besides the tv memorablia value I’m trying to find out what these types of machines are going for for resale

    How is the group head pressure? Can I dial in an espresso on this machine or should I look for something with more power?

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 7 lety

      Yes, you can absolutely dial in for espresso with this machine. You'll be getting water from the group head with 9 bars of pressure, like all semi-automatic machines.

    I found a two hole steam tip is a big improvement over the standard four hole one as far as silky microfoam goes for latte art.
    The standard one annoyed me with its spluttering steam.
    Perhaps another video showing the benefits of aftermarket tips?

    • @blizzbee
      @blizzbee Před 3 lety +2

      I guess more holes is better for large amount of milk per steam act. If steam only 150ml. milk, four holes is quite challenging but if steam 400ml., it's a smile steam.

    what kind of water should I use? the machine does not work with my tap water or britta jug.

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 8 lety

      +36tonystarks Can you elaborate on "the machine does not work with my tap water or britta jug"? You want to use filtered water, so something like a Brita would be perfect.

    • @36tonystarks
      @36tonystarks Před 8 lety

      +Seattle Coffee Gear when I filled the tank with tap water the water light turned on and the machine just froze. I'm assuming the water was not detected by the sensor. I then added ice mountain spring water and it worked. I didn't realize how sensitive the machine was to water hardness.

    Love my Oscar. I roast all my own coffees and only brew with Oscar or French Press. Oscar is MORE than worth the price. Best lattes in town.
