This was the gateway song for me. I had to literally watch it 5 times in a row so that my mind could comprehend what I was seeing. I was Hooked from that moment on.

@amiekinz4ever I 💯 percent CONCUR!!!!! Unfortunately, covid screwed things up. Lovebites was supposed to do their 1st US TOUR end of 2020, first part of 2021. Then there was the global shutdown, and then in August 2021, Miho, the original bassist and co-founder of Lovebites, left. So they are making their US debut in September of this year, and we are hoping that they will add more tour dates. Just waiting to hear.
Midori's sassy grin while she shreds is legendary now. This was actually the second MV they put up on YT but it's the one that really blew up.
@@Amiekinz4ever They _should_ have a bigger stage, absolutely, but I have to wonder about the ceiling for a group that primarily plays power and thrash metal no matter how well they play it. Metal is a niche genre in Japan and while LOVEBITES is wildly skilled for sure, there's an undeniable "been there, done that" aspect to their sound for a lot of people. Miho even said something to the effect of LOVEBITES is a tribute to the bands they grew up listening to.
I have a feeling that as they grow, they will expand musically as well
Anthem, as you said. I had already heard "Rising" before and I wasn't convinced. Then I watched Shadowmaker and instantly fell in love with Lovebites - forever.

Probably my favourite guitar solo from them. Midoris first part of the solo is just fenomenal.

@@Amiekinz4ever Yeh, she is - but there is so much more than shredding in this solo. It´s timing, climbing and descending, changing pace, those little slides in the middle of the fast playing, It¨s one of my absolute favorite guitar solos.

And she will answer: "I wrote Shadowmaker."

You should also listen to a live versions of "Shadowmaker" from one of Lovebites live DVDs. The solos (sweeping in particular) are really impressive live, especially considering how dry the tones are, without a bunch if effects to mask mistakes. And then the drums; Haruna adds so many tasty accents and fills! I really don't get how she can play that way in a 90+ minute set, just remembering everything as the conductor, plus the stamina required. There's so many great things to pick up on when you concentrate on one specific instrument each repeat, even in the vocals.

I think it's more for looks than sound though
Your right. Haruna, and Asami too, love spinning those star cymbals!!! When Haruna hits them with her stick you hear a "ting" sound and then a whir. But yes primarily for show!!! As a drummer myself I am always amazed at Harunas talent level on the drums 🥁. Her drumming should be studied!!!!

Literally the song that brought me back from the hell of that goddamn pandemic.
The lyrics resonated with me. The instrumentals were otherworldly. This is an anthem, a hero's theme (and the hero is every one of us).
Things change for the better since then, but everytime I listen to Shadowmaker, I feel the need to wear a cape&cowl, and do good.
(It also made me a religious dude... I believe in the Church Of Lovebites now🤘🐺🤘)

The song that M&M love to play LIVE. This is also the original song from 2017 (the original had their tour dates in the middle of the video) and the one that hooked many of the early Wolfpack members. Just another example of the insane talent in the band. Now go check out the live version from 2021 while Miyako was 4/5 months pregnant.

This particular song, for me, gets better with each live performance as they do something better each time to enhance it. Not sure exactly what they do, but from the stage performance of this song or the the concert is better each time, but this song continues to evolve and gets better with each concert.

SHADOWMAKER (2017) is from LOVEBITES’s *first* album. Boy, did they set a high bar right out of the gate.

Haruna’s star cymbals are just for show. She used them in Destrose, the band her and Miho were both part of previous to LOVEBITES.
I once reached out to Midori and asked if she still had that white FRX, and she confirmed that she still does. That’s such a pretty guitar. I’ve see her with a seven-string version as well, but she was only posing with it. Not sure if that one is hers or not.
Great song, probably one of the first I heard from LB. “Addicted” is another song of theirs that’s similar, but there’s only maybe two or three live versions out there for it. The version from 2000’s “Five of a Kind” show is my favorite.
I'm glad she still has that guitar.
This is another Lovebites iconic song included in their first album. Yes, they were that great from the beginning. The live version of their successful performance at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, is also excellent.

The star cymbals are Haruna's trade mark and are always present on her drum kit. They are not "played" but she does spin them every so often, as can be seen at the beginning of this MV. I hope you do the live version of this as well. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I love their live songs, but I also like to pay homage to their videos as that is their artistic side and they put so much effort into giving us these incredible pieces of art
I disagree. Of course the live versions are epic. But IMO it‘s disrespectful towards the band to keep people from also getting to know the bands studio work. It‘s also an important part of their art! And Shadowmaker MV is iconic for the Wolfpack …

Put me in that warehouse, I am as good as Miyako))) The point of my comment is - can you perform what you write??? Miyako and Midory are Goddesses when it comes to live improvisation and no matter what anyone can say - they are much better live, they can record live albums with eyes closed and I was urging the good lady to take a different approach to the song....

You got to check out the band that kicked off this whole modern movement.
In the 1980s Show Ya was the first successful All Female J Metal band. Then norhing till Aldious in 2008.
Check out Aldious Spirit Black, the first hit by an All Female band in the modern era, opening the door to all who followed.
Haruna had the star cymbals when she played for Destrose, they disbanded in 2015 and she and Bassist Miho formed this band.

Ok so I have just subscribed to your channel as you genuinely seem to be a fan of these ladies. I see a lot of reactors do lovebites and say all the right things but never visit them again. Which leads me to believe that they have heard about the Wolfpack and simply do a song for likes and views. So now I hold off on the subscription until I know the reactor is genuine
