We figured out what we enjoy from your vids, it’s not just the highlights, it’s the struggle as well.

Hello from French-speaking Switzerland, This part of your cycling trip is a dream! I am also in a “butterfly speed” or slow velo tempo. Your daughters performed well and I'm happy for you to see that you still have these fa-mous old rim brake bikes, safe and durable (no rims that crack, nor spokes that break 😉). I use BBBtristop skates which are perfect and inexpensive. As for the sun hat, I have pretty much the same one as you (OR). I look forward to discovering your other steps. Beautiful summer^^

These old bikes still have more adventures in them for sure! We mostly used Kool Stop brake pads but I'll have to try the TriStops. The sun hat is from www.dabrim.com. Happy travels!

This was fascinating, as usual. Everyone who does bicycle touring videos could take lessons from how you've done these. It would be interesting if sometime you could drop a few more hints about how you manage to find such interesting routes. I've heard you mention Komoot a few times, and Eurovelo routes, and that sometimes you depart from the usual routes, but it didn't sound like you found that old Roman road by accident.

Thank you! The roman road is part of the official Via Francigena route, but we did deviate from the official route a few times, either to avoid busy roads, avoid muddy conditions, to camp at the lake, or when we took a wrong turn 😅. The Via Francigena cycling route is available on the www.viefrancigene.org website. On our 5-month tour overall, I laid out the route piece by piece on Komoot after a lot of research on existing Komoot routes, CZcams, Google Street View, various websites, etc. We had a few surprises along the way but were able to more or less follow the plan at least this far.

I wish you would talk more and explain details. Your now in your 4th month in europe, I thought you only can stay for 3 months, how did you stay longer? Where do you stay at night, camping hotels, hostels?

I am an Irish citizen. So neither me nor my family are limited by the Schengen 90-day rule. On the Via Francigena, we mostly stayed at albergues.
