In the bleak lands of the Tar Barrens, the dreadful Clatterjaw roams. Socials: Twitter: sawyerleeart Insta: sawyerleeart Patreon: www.Patreon.com/Sleeart Thank you!
The friendly social nature between Clatterjaws makes for a really interesting contrast to their grotesque form and terrifying reputation. I really like that duality!
Another winner. These really are the most nuanced and interesting dragons created. As an aside too, I like how you've actually made evil skull and crossbones armour that actually has a valid, cultural reason for its appearance instead of just 'Looks pretty evil doesn't it >:)'.
@@sawyerleeart I'm curious, might be tempted in sorta remaking/recommentating the first two episodes, maybe even the very first vid introducing folks to the series?
Don't listen to anyone who tells you that fresh land oysters are worth the journey because when you see what a maul does to a live animal...honestly you won't eat for a week. Those clatterjaws are horrid creatures and no amount of coin is gonna convince me to even think about trying to slay one. Love to see you upload man, fantastic work as always :)
That place is almost this size of what?! How big is this world hahaha. That island is just awful it's cold, poison, little to no food/water, bubbling tar and death. I love it!
I absolutely love this world. You've managed to combine the fantastical & realistic in a way that actually makes sense... I am impressed. I have really struggled with that in my own world. As I've made it more detailed, I've kicked out a lot of the magical things that kickstarted the whole project. I will totally use your videos as reference when I start making content for my worlds, you've really got it good with this project. Keep up the good work!
a great episode covering one of the most frightfully formidable dragons, can't wait for the Rattledread, Hellbasker, and Gaping Kilnneck to get their showcase!
Wow, and I thought it was just a simple oyster nutcracker... But with a steamer included! On top of that, a total social master of perfumes and absolute stalking boogeyman! You literally pre-created a bleak, inhabited Greenland of Blemmyes. I simply adore every evolutionary detail you give to each of your dragons!!!
Keeps getting better and better. The clatterjaw is so unique in design and also I think your doing a great job at building this world and you explain each dragon.
*REMEMBER SLAYERS,* "always keep ye back to a wall when facin' those vile Clatterjaws. And don't forget to bring a Spooky mask, but not TOO Spooky. Lest ye be the latest stain at the mire."
This is one my personal favorite of your creations, I was hoping it would get a video. I especially love how much thought you put into the recourses it would take the dragon to make it's signature crushing jaw. Double layered egg+oyster is such a creative concept, love weird lifecycles.
You know the landscape of the Tar barren looks empty hopefully in the next entry will be covered in a location full of wildlife like a forest, Perhaps the Blood Forest, or maybe exploring the nearest island Sicklemouth Island.
In that forests we might come across The Gaping Kilnneck dragon (Insidioscitor frondosus) or on that island we come across the Sicklemouth dragon (Gladiundus dirus) in either of those locations.
When I heard you were making a CZcams channel that would have profiles for the dragons in the codex, this was the one I had been waiting for. The Clatterjaw is such a great mix of terrifying and silly, with the absolutely bizarre biology and ecology that makes your setting stand out so much. That messed up lil freak has to be one of my favorite dragons in this project, definitely a top 5 at least.
Awesome video and even cooler art! Nice to see the audio is way better now, and pared with good ambient music and creature sounds make for an amazing and inmerssive experience. These dragons are some of the most interesting you have shown to date here, and the biome, oh my goodness that worldbuilding, its absolutely amazing! Love everything about this, great job and cant wait for more. 💙
The 'Face' Method won't last much longer. The Clatterjaws will adapt and will travel in groups in order to make it ineffective, though terrifying as it seems, one might be ambush from behind while the other one distract it's adversary by being bait.
I have an idea for you, this isn't a dragon idea but just an animal idea, a parasite that disguises as the tounge of a clatterjaw and cordiceps fungus's the dragons brain, basically zombie dragons, then it makes the dragon go to an oyster and open its mouth, the parasite, which is 3 times as long as a lamprey, then finds an opening of some kind in the shell, and slithers through, finds the soft body of the oyster and consumes it, then forces its dragon to lay an egg or steal an egg and put it in the oyster shell, the parasite lays an egg inside the egg, then the dragon and parasite either grow together and the parasite gets an immediate host, or if it's biologically possible and if you want, mutants? :) I just thought this was an interesting idea It also could lead into the belief of the dragons being the souls of the dead
Both exist in an arms race! They can crush the shield of the Bastionback, who in turn can withstand the pressure for MUCH longer than other species- giving time for retaliation!
I second this idea! Sounds very interesting. Maybe show different tactics an or strategy. Do you hunt and track dragons directly or could a slayer lay an ambush? Cheers
I really like the "Hyena Dragon", but I have one question. What is the weird structure on the undeside of the neck? A waddle, or some sort of chamber for water?

Thank you! I love when creatures have contrasts and layers like that

Aye thank you man! And yk I couldn’t let the evil face motif exist in a void💪 I crave explanations for like everything
Audio is better in this one.
Yeah finally figured it out

The thing I most need right now is a episode on the Red Racer.
Soon!

One of the most creative dragons ever

Ok the sound effect for the bite in action made me flinch
Lol it was an intentional jump scare 😉
I'll go ahead and guess that one of their prey animals, the Turtle Dragon, will be soon.
it was facken amazing man. this channel is turning better and better with every video.
Are you making a book about this? If so, where can I buy it?
215 T O N S?!?!
T O N S
The art is already amazing, but coupled with the steady improvement of video quality, its turning this series into something legitimately awesome
Wake up babe Sawyer Lee video
I love the sound effects you used. The sound of the clatterjaw biting down made me jump!
Thank you!! It kept jumping me while editing it as well😭
i wonder if a large flag bearing this face imagery could be used like a bullfighter's cape to scare and goad the clatterjaw?
Definitely
Hi I think you got the audio situation resolved much much better quality. Awsome contiues to be a very cool series thanks for your hard work.
A very interesting creature, Keep up the good work by covering these amazingly designed beasts.
Keeps getting better and better. The clatterjaw is so unique in design and also I think your doing a great job at building this world and you explain each dragon.

Think you nailed the audio dude, great video
Glad to hear it!
Audio is much much better in this episode
Let’s goooooo, a new video
*REMEMBER SLAYERS,* "always keep ye back to a wall when facin' those vile Clatterjaws. And don't forget to bring a Spooky mask, but not TOO Spooky. Lest ye be the latest stain at the mire."
”Try not to find yerselves alone against the lot of the beasts.”
They are filled with Tar Pits like the one from La Brea, Los Angeles CA.
I love the oyster-plant things. It draws me in to think how people could incorporate them into their livelihoods.
I'm sorry,215 *TONS?!*
For an ugly dragon, theres something.... beautiful bout it

I think the landscape seems pretty empty but has plenty of cover for small dragons and humans
@@shoe644 as long as they avoid the tar pits.
Man, I can't belive I was late to this! Time to make up for my lateness!
Fantastic!!! I'm working on my own dragon-biology-project and you've been a big inspiration for me!
I’m honored!
I've binged all of your vids so far, and I love them. Will you ever do a video on the cultures in your world?
Another new Dragon and a very weird and strange looking one looks like an alien
Trust face bite is actually very cute

Thank you! I’d say he’s my personal favorite of the codex- and a freak like him was perfect to add early on to show how weird my world can get
probably my favorite one yet

I absolutely love your art style! If you do this on procreate I was wondering what brush you use?
I attended these videos Religiously.
Your attendance is welcomed!
Another good video, really impressed with the audio ye've got, really helps immerse oneself. Where'd ye get them?
The creature sounds? They’re stock sounds I go and edit a bit haha
Wooo the improvement in audio is very good❤

Fantastic as always!! 🤩
That was AWESOME! So much cool new art and info!
Would one of these be able to crush the armor-scales of a jade bastion back? They do live In the same place
Both exist in an arms race! They can crush the shield of the Bastionback, who in turn can withstand the pressure for MUCH longer than other species- giving time for retaliation!
@@sawyerleeartI think there was a painting you made of a bastion back fighting a bunch of em did you ever get around to finishing it?
A jade bastion back I can’t see that type of dragon
Great video!
*Cue femur-breaker sfx*
Question are there any dragons in your series that look similar to Western European dragons do you know tail head two wings 4 the legs
Not in this world! All my dragons share ancestry and are descended from four-limbed ancestors
I love this series
Lets gooo another great upload
Next you could do a video on what tools dragonslayers usually bring to the hunt.
Worry not I plan for such a thing!
I second this idea! Sounds very interesting. Maybe show different tactics an or strategy. Do you hunt and track dragons directly or could a slayer lay an ambush? Cheers

a retractable dewlap, similar to whats seen in anoles
This one was really good man
Oh best dragon artist coming to CZcams
The next profile better be wisperwurm or I will cry
Good stuff as usual
