The regular s23 is for me such a great overall device to the point that it's a boring one, it never makes me think twice about complains or features that stand out, it doesn't feel heavy in the hand, doesn't take up space in the pocket. I'm contantly itching to get my hands on a new device but never find myself justifying it due to the s23. The only thing that it cannot compete is -as you said- a foldable. I'm sure that in a couple of years Samsung will have a compelling offering to match what the OnePlus Open offers plus an S Pen and the One UI.
S23 is my favourite phone of the year as well love the size and feeling 😊

@onkitkumardutta3719 never experienced such sir as I do not game on my phone. That's also why I opt for smaller phones. The most heavy load for my phone, I think, would be either google Meet or Zoom meetings.
Oneplus and Oppo made a banger of a foldable this year.
I really would have thought, the Nothing Phone (2) would get best design. Especially if you take the on board design (icon/launcher) into account. In my option it looks fantastic.

Hey Sam. I really need your advice. Right now I'm testing a Pixel 7 Pro and a Samsung S23 at the same time but I can't decide which I should keep because both phones do what I need. Which phone would you advise me to keep?
Well s23 did win his phone of the year so I think he will go with s23. I have the s23 ultra and pixel 8 pro... While pixel is amazing , Samsung just has the edge on reliability... It will NEVER let you down.
I also have the S23 and been recommending that phone like crazy all year, its just that good. It does everything you need with ease, including dex!
Great Video even though I don't agree with All of your choices. I added the Pixel 8 Pro to my arsenal when it dropped and I must say I'm enjoying it. Yeah wish the Tensor 3 was a lot more powerful but other than an app taking a few seconds longer to open it's been a great experience. I'm very surprised that you didn't even mention the Nothing Phone 2.I have the Nothing Phone 1 and it's amazing. I'll be adding the Phone 2 to my arsenal in a couple months. 1,) iPhone 15 Pro, to me, looks identical to the iPhone 12 Pro I had. The iPhone 11 I think was the first use of the triple camera setup as we see it today, and looks unchanged to me. So, I don't get how it could win any best design awards since then.
2.) I wish my hands were big enough to use a Pixel 8 Pro with one hand

Great round up. The only thing i would say is i'm not quite sold on the xiaomi 13 pro having best camera system. Great main shooters for sure, but the 13 pros front camera is not the best on stills and video is subpar at ony 1080p, the front cameras a whole was neglected on this phone. Agree though that S23 as an entire package in terms of features, value, updates etc etc has no real weaknesses.
Your video is top notch, great work! Very interesting points, I ditched the S23 Ultra for the Pixel 8 Pro and I am definitely much happier. I honestly didn't use the S-Pen at all, and while the fingerprint sensor is definitely a downgrade in the Pixel, I use face recognition 99% of the time. The biggest difference for me was the software experience. OneUI has come a long way but to me it is still not cohesive enough, and the duplicate app experiences and stores, having to use a Samsung account for certain features, it feels convoluted.
Tbh bro you are second most honest s23ultra user like i also own one (used to 😅) and i never used s pen except flexing that you can actually draw lol😅. And yeah only thing i used spen for was to cut the ads 😂 on flash games like they are annoying and clicking on them with thumb or any finger sometimes misses and boom welcome to play store. And i aslo shifted to 8pro only thing i miss are

100x zoom lens like in 365 days i only took 20-30 100X photos without humans mostly sign boards and some art/textures but photos were not that usable sometimes..
Music share and easy screen casting..
But now all my friends have chrome cast so it's not a problem anymore
@@sahilbisht4459 I hear you, the S-Pen was cool for like 15 min and then I never took a note with it. I used it once as a shutter button when taking pictures and then it just say there not being used. The zoom is definitely better in the S23U, the moon pics where cool but I like the aesthetic of the Pixel photos in almost all other scenarios. Getting rid of ads is a nice use for the s pen, never thought of that one!
@@KennethCalvo 🥲 so it's only me ig using Spen for that purpose... Well I don't know if you noticed this .. if you turn exposure a little down in potrait shots to make ot look like dark/contrasty on people it will do better edge detection and you will get a nice looking photo (it can be subjective tho) and i think 8pro got the best ultrawide camera rn in market for both colours and sharpness + 50mp raw

I have a Google Pixel 8 and am really annoyed by the battery that lasts me somewhere around 8 to 10 hours before it needs a recharge. I tried to deactivate the battery optimization but it didn't change much. I found that I am not the only one with this issue, could you make a video about this if you have tips?
Had the same issues returned it got iphone 15 plus, leagues agead of pixel in every aspect. I would return it if i were you or directly complain about it where u got it from.

Unfortunately, both Pixels are obscenely overpriced in the Indian market. Pixel 8 Pro was selling for 90k INR (~$1,100) during the new year sale after applying all card discounts, whereas in the US it costs just $799. Also, after paying higher in India, we don't even get features such as call screening etc that have been available in several other countries for years. used to be a Pixel fanboy till now but this year finally switched to iPhone because of the unfair treatment given to the Indian market.

The 23 series this year killed it but I had to go with the ultra. As a note fan it was my only option. The ultra was made for note user enthusiast so for all yall that never used the spen hey you have to be an ex note user to understand how great its features are. I do alot of designing and editing with it 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

The Tensor G3 is 50% faster than the 3 year old snapdragon 865 I’m currently using, so that’s a no brainer for me. I don’t play graphics intensive games, just card games and sudoku.
I wonder between s23 and xiaomi 13 with aosp custom rom (because miui/hyperOS suck)
pixel software is still the smartest and smoothest so if you value the software most, you can't beat AOSP. Plus performance is always better on a debloated system. Samsung still has the edge in camera, but not by much.

I think you’re right about the best value for being a pixel 8 especially here in the states where it’s constantly on sale for $550. Anyone who has ever bought a Pixel before knows Just wait never pay the full price so yeah 700 was Way too much but 550 is a good deal for this phone.
Loved the video man, always do. I recently upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro and have really loved it, and glad to see it mentioned so often on this video, but as someone who used to own a Galaxy S8 I totally respect what Samsung is doing as well! For me the problem with non-Apple smartphones is always Android. I tried to get used to a Nothing Phone 1 for six months after my iPhone 11 Pro and I just hated Android for so many tiny things, from privacy to ads, to the Play Store to UI quirks. Those are all subjective, of course, just that they caused me to move back to the iOS side of things.
6.1 inch is for me a gamechanging one hand experience i dont get it why only samsung offers these in the high end region but here we are :)

The problem with this vidoe is in the word "opinion" he is not judging these phones objectively, if he was, we would have the NOTHING Phone 2 as the best designed phone. It's aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Pixel pro loses in design department coz it has slightly thicker chin, yet iPhone 15 pro wins in this department even though it has the largest camera bump ever and the dynamic continent 😂 fan boy theory at its finest 👏
