  • Another reaction that came with quite a few requests attached to it. This time I get to react to Pearl Jam performing Pink Floyd's "Mother" on The Tonight Show during it's Tribute To Pink Floyd week. From what I was told, it's a smaller, more intimate setting like an acoustic show. Hmmmmmmmm....we'll just have to see how it goes.
    Come on in, enjoy the show....I'll see you inside.
    Scoring System Guide
    10 = Perfection (Unobtainable)
    9.0 - 9.9 = Awesome, Amazing
    8.0 - 8.9 = Great
    7.0 - 7.9 = Really Good
    6.0 - 6.9 = Pretty Good
    5.0 - 5.9 = O.k.
    4.0 - 4.9 = Not So Good
    3.0 - 3.9 = Pretty Bad
    2.0 - 2.9 = Really Bad
    1.0 - 1.9 = Horrible, Awful
    0.0 - 0.9 = A Travesty, An Affront To Nature
    PS: Stick around to see the end of the video. I added some bloopers and outtakes and made a gag reel of sorts (LOVED the bloopers and outtakes at the end of the Cannonball movies, figured I'd give it a shot) Let me know what you think. Do they add to the presentation? Do the detract from the show? Are they irrelevant? Let me know in the comments what you think of them, whether or not you enjoyed them, and whether or not I should continue doing them.

    Boom Gaspar tours with them to play keyboards. You often hear the crowd chant "BOOOOM" after particularly great keyboard highlights. Boom is perhaps featured best in the track Crazy Mary.
    Pearl Jam has NEVER repeated the same set list. Each show is unique, but Crazy Mary is frequently in the rotation and for good reason. I have a feeling you'd particularly love that one.
    Thanks again for the solid reaction and for the shout outs.

      @@THEDavidHeretic I would either review the live version from Santiago Chile (czcams.com/video/E0JwW623n1A/video.html), or the live version from MSG (czcams.com/video/OfNm4MZLPR4/video.html) . Production value of the video is a little better in the MSG clip, but musically I think the Santiago version is ever so slightly better. Either version is A++++++++++ so you can't go wrong picking either one. Whichever one you don't review on the channel you should listen to in your private time for your own personal enjoyment.

    Not a bad version at all. Vocals, keys and acoustic on point. But to me, the 1980 live version of Floyd themselves remains the best. And the solo in this is... lacking a lot of the details and nuance. Especially the second part. Where are the rakes and slides? And where's the volume!

  • @Esl1999
    @Esl1999 Před 3 lety

    I think Pearl Jam chose Mother to cover because it’s a simpler song to perform. Pink Floyd’s 1980 live performance is superior in almost every way to this but whatcha gunna do, it is what it is.
