lightningridgec... Join John and Joe Belicka expert opal cutter as he transforms a rough knobby opal into a true gem quality Black Opal in Lightning Ridge, Australia.
This man had zero time for the small talk, he just wanted to do what he does best, get that opal in hand and make something amazing! Those like him are so valuable to our world. They put the beauty we see in it!
Wow amazing watching a master at his craft. Very steady and explaining what he’s doing. I have a black opal from Lightning Ridge I inherited and it’s set in a gold clip. Was thinking of getting made into a ring but apprehensive letting it out of my sight. Had it valued for insurance purposes.
Um, not sure, I think it was a collection of lightning strikes. Dang, if I could only remember who it was done by I could maybe search and find out for sure.
Mark Filaroski I would say that he did well with not losing carats. If you have sand in the stone, it would be worth less than if you ground the sand out.
55 years. You can see the experience in his hands while he's working. You could argue with him about a stone but I doubt you would win. Sorry about your father.

Where’s the finished stone!?!?!? Why wouldn’t you show that at the end of a 20 minute video??
The video is titled as Part 1. Part 2 is loaded on the CZcams channel .
I don't know what it is but I could watch this all day.
Grinding technical very good 👍
Amazing steady hands!
God given talent!
Your job is so coooooool
How important the fingers and eyes of the craftsman.
How could you not show the finished stone???
Why was he runnning the 2nd cut dry before the polish. Was it to keep the stone from absorbing to much water?
You should have shown the pollished stone.
Sangat indah sekali
Sya dari indonesia pencinta batu dunia
Why didn’t you show the final polished result ?
hope your camera work has improved since this was made
Looks at the full video and there's was no finished jem😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
STOP Turning the camera when the stone is on the wheel..! Make me nauseous
Wo bekommt man denn so ein Gerät um opale zu bearbeiten, und was kostet sowas?
Gorgeous work
thank you!
Why is your wheel look like it is moving ?
What happened to the finish stone?
No I got it it was lightning alley collection yeah yeah
Um, not sure, I think it was a collection of lightning strikes. Dang, if I could only remember who it was done by I could maybe search and find out for sure.

Love to all...Yah.
Hi John very interessete video that you have done , which cutting machien do you have
I say all the way thru this and didn't get to see the finished stone. That pisses me of . I won't be watching anymore of your videos. Shame on you.
I fell in the same hole
Nice. Saudações do Brasil
phew. lost a lot of carats. that pains me to see, and I get it. he knows what he is doing but still.
Mark Filaroski I would say that he did well with not losing carats. If you have sand in the stone, it would be worth less than if you ground the sand out.
Next time have a fixed camera… getting seasick with all that movement. Otherwise… Good job💪🏻😊
I like this.. very very nice.. maybe one day i have one.. . Xixi
Thanks for the video. The tilt of the camera with the movement of the stone is frustrating to watch. It's not natural. Just my opinion
that image stabilisation makes it bloody annoying to watch
Thanks for the video.but what wheels are you using?
ماهي المادة اللاصقة وما إسمها ؟؟
Good
What was this the lightning Bluff collection I can't remember
I agree. And why cover what we are watching the video for.
Dnt understand why he dont use a wire wheelfor the dirt wont cut anything off so the gem wont loose weight until ur ready to cut it
Why won’t you show the end of the Opal it’s a black opal!!!,!,!,!
Well it was a large stone
